100 UTC reward to make a youtube movie with a noob-proof pool mining guide

if you are working on it please reply

Hey bumface,

I patched & compiled a scrypt-jane ready version of CGMiner for Linux, runs stable on BAMT 1.3 and probably many others. No malware. Patched source in the zip and example command line etc comes with original post.

NO malware, doesnt mess with any original installs of sgminer but runs out of its own folder.

Just to try and help bring all those on board that won't can't or don't want to risk their working sgminer.

thank you i have put it on page 1 (50 utc sent)

and they just arrived. May they be worth $ 200 in a month (;-)

For those on linux and that can't be bothered / can't patch & compile cgminer for scrypt-jane support:

I have done it last week, contails all the required libraries eg ATI etc. Works successfully, been stable for days. Running it on BAMT 1.3 from separate folder than sgminer. Just make sure you stop your mining sessions on bamt before kicking off cgminer from the commandline

1. download my compiled version (all source / libraries in the zip and no I haven't been malicious eg I am just trying to support the coin as much as I can)
   https://mega.co.nz/#!A1YUCDCa!aI7DmQ-WEVwgsdHxc_h1Ewe2L9SloGuNMkpRpgAPRsI

2. unzip
3. Create account / workers / pool whatever you need to do
4. Execute the following shell commands (timings below etc for R9 280X +- 570kh - mining UTC ie mod as required) from within /cgminer-build/cgminer-3.7.2 folder (or write a script):

export DISPLAY=:0
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
./cgminer --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -o stratum+tcp://xxxx:3333 -u xxx.1 -p xxx -I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-fan 30-75 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-target 72 --temp-overheat 85 --thread-concurrency 8191 -Q 0 -E 10 --no-submit-stale --gpu-engine 1065 --gpu-memclock 1500

6. Should be up and running hashing away on Scrypt-Jane (hopefully UTC)

I tested this and its working. Thanks a lot for this Wink

nice to see the twitter giveaway!  I don't do twitter, fb etc. though.

I'm a bit saddened for last 24hrs.

-Largest Drop in value of any coin listed on coinmarketcap
-Market Cap dropped 50% in a bit over a day
-Hash rate down 35%
-Cap now under copperlark? going by crypto-trade price.
-USD value down 60% from peak!?
-dropped 10 slots in marketcap

Average drop for all crypto last 24hrs 5-8%.  15% of coins listed on marketcap went up.

I hope this doesn't die as it seems.....

we are stuck in no mans land on a couple of two bit exchanges which had no volume until UTC arrived. Which one has to be clear about. Right now nobody wants to transfer any btc of note onto the blockchain & there is the ongoing withdrawal issue. So we are stuck in a small pond that just had its access to the ocean cut off. Water is starting to warm and becoming stagnant. A bit like piss. Oxygen is getting lower. Idiots are selling cheap.

We have to get on a better exchange OR at least: how hard is it to create a LTC/UTC pair ? People might still be game moving LTC around which may help a bit. But ultimately we need to get on an exchange with volume - like right now. Or bumface pulls of the deal of the century and gets in on btc-e. Actually I vote for that.

And bloody hold. The miners be gone soon for a while. Then only the bagholders can fk it up

Why would it die?
Don't be overdramatic.

I've been in crypto's a few months and have seen dozens of "crashes" in several coins.
Latest one I just noticed was Sexcoin. That one even dropped of Coinmarketcap and is now back at 41.

Some coins are really worth very little because they compete at coinwarz to be the easiest minable and have billions of coins with 100's of thousands per day being mined.

This coin really sticks out. It's not that easy to mine, not to many coins.
I think the pre-mine is very small and not a big deal.

So what causes the recent drop? For one there is the BTC problem, but that doesn't account for this huge drop.
There must be some people trying to scare the shit out of the weak handed (and they are pretty successful at it, congrats!).

I've been steadily buying since last night. Started at 87000 (ouch) but kept buying in the falling market, as I always do. Lowest buy was 47000.
And I'm planning on buying some more.

Unless I am VERY wrong about this, this coin will also recover!
If my strategy fails, this will be the very first coin I really lose on. Total invested now: 1,5BTC.

To break this downtrend: don't feed the buyers :-)

So you think 2 Million Pre-mined UTC's is not much?
Thats odd, since even 200K are enough to crush the market.

Ah, something else I noticed and this is not normal behaviour.

Look at buy/sell prices. Currently there is a 30%! price difference. Normally that would mean that there would be almost no trades happening or slowely going down on the sell side as well.
That doesn't happen here.

I coul be mistaken, but my guess is that a lot of this is due to people manipulating the market. Which is very easy with these low trade volumes.
My advice: hang in there  Grin

If you look at it like that: EVERY pre-mine / stake is to much in an immature market.
That's what this is: immature. Let it mature for a bit and don't go panic selling.

Sadly, you can't shake the fear of the premine until there are significantly more mined coins than premine coins.

Having said that, this is probably more of a combination of a lack of liquidity in moving BTC around right now, distrust of a small exchange for new buyers, a lack of promotion, and maybe a little bit of premine fear.

It's already unprofitable for me to dump it, so I'm not going anywhere for a bit, but most of those complaining need to realize that the hashrate, even with it lower, is still more than 80% of the coins on coinmarketcap.  There is significant mining support right now, it is just going to take time to go anywhere else.

I can't stress this enough to the team behind this coin -  Give people a compelling reason to invest here.  Advertise why we need scrypt-Asic resistant coins for miners that don't have 10K to put down on a rig.  Explain how the PoS works - not link to a Wikipedia page that gives you an overview of the concept and has absolutely zero to do with the implementation in this coin.  The way you write your PoS explanation makes it sound like 20% of my balance will magically pop up in my wallet in one large lump sum at the end of this year if I just keep it on.
