It is possible that the data has been leakage about your account information. If you change password, it should be fine now.

It's been almost an hour and my DASH withdrawal is still pending. Is it normal? I usually never got any pending transaction longer than that on DASH (this is my first time withdrawing dash from polo) and I can't check the confirmation because there were no any -/- confirmation on the history.

Yes, they always send an email (sometimes it takes a few minutes), try checking your spam folders - I had some problems in the past were I couldn't find the email and it turned out to have been filtered out.

Actually, email confirmation act as an extra security layer, it ensures that it is you the one that logged in into the account and you are really authorizing the withdrawal. Suppose that someone hacked your polo account, it would very easy to drain all of your balance without the email verification. With that confirmation email, they need to hack your email too to stole your money. Well... unless you set the same password for all of your internet account.  It's not really bothersome, IMO, because all you need to do is just click the link. Some exchanger uses this too, not only polo.

Have you click the link they send every time you do withdrawals? As far as I know, "waiting for approval" means you hadn't click the confirmation link they send to your email. It will change to "pending" once the confirmation link confirmed

Enabling 2FA is a good idea and once you have done that, it allows you to disable the email confirm.  I found email confirm to be very slow for no good reason.  The actual email to opt out however is instantaneous, as is the 2FA system.
Once past that you just have the blockchain delay itself.  I waited till BTC had a block more then ten minutes ago and sent and it went pretty quick then.

*There is some strange setting enabled for BLK which stops it working for about 16 hours. Eventually it will clear but be warned.  Poloniex is the only exchange which delays this coin in this way.   I just sent BLK from my wallet and it confirmed the other end literally seconds later, shouldnt be more then 2 minutes normally.  
 There might be other coins delayed like that but the message you mentioned sounds like the email thing

Have you tried bringing this up to the trollbox? The moderators are quite responsive on chat and probably could help you with what to do. Strange that you got stuck, because I just withdraw some ETH around 12 hours ago and it took only minutes to land safely on my wallet

I entered a pseuonym for my full name, as I have no intention of using Polo for fiat.  I'm thinking that's the problem, but if it is, I just wish they'd address it quicker.  48 hours on a crypto exchange is not acceptable IMO.

Don't worry about your withdrawal, you will get paid, sometimes they double check before withdrawal processing. Before did you click the link that they sent to your registered email and after clicking they will take some to process the withdrawal.
