I sold some DASH so i could margin sell ETH, in the end DASH went up and ETH went up leading to my order liquidation.
Worst decision ever... and i told myself never trade on margin ever again, but fought this time its just too good of an
opportunity to increase my DASH holding... Sad Damn!

I think it's been a wild week for anyone trading.

I lost a couple of hundred Ether at the bottom of the beartrap. It was basically a manual stop loss cos I thought it was heading for capitulation. Then the massive bounce came.

Doesn't matter. I just put it into Dash which is now on the upstroke.

What about BTC though. Just saw it now. w.t.f. !!!  Shocked

Yes it has been! I think that there will eventually be a reckoning, but right now ETH just soars and soars, no matter what. I remember the last market that just kept going up, up, up and everybody said couldn't ever go down: housing in 2008.

Anyway, the market can remain irrational far longer than I can remain solvent, so I just watch from afar. It really sucked to be one of those guys who bet against the housing market in 2006 or 2007. They were right, but their timing was wrong and the got rekt!

P.S. On /r/bitcoinmarkets, people were getting moon fever. We hadn't had a big correction yet (no more than a $60 drop at any time during the rise) and it was obvious that one was due. I got out of my trades at $695 which means I missed the last leg up, which is too bad, but it also means I missed that drop down to $555.

I was getting nervous...huge rise without a significant retrace, hockey stick on the 3D, and everybody saying "if you sell now you're a fool, we're going to $4,000"...the level of mania over there was extraordinary. It was real "new paradigm" stuff. Judging from sentiment, I doubt that the correction is over yet, either. Too many people "buying the dip" and not enough "blood in the streets" fear.

votes in the centralized, instamined coin? those votes are not worth a shit...what a grotesque form of democracy  Grin

Dash's DAO (Duffield's Anal Orgasm)

Dash is not a democracy. Dash's governance system relies in its masternode operators which are the people running the collateralized nodes on the Dash network. The reason why this governance system works is because you are relying on people that are invested and have a stake on the network success but also are providing infrastructure and services to the network, so it is not only about stake but also about participation.

By using this ingenious model Dash is able to remain pure Proof of Work for security where it matters but also drive the network decisions based on the risk and involvement of stakeholders. Is not only about owning some Dash, we will have many people that will invest in a little DASH or simply use it for its many advantages, instant confirmations etc, but not all users wish to or will get invested to the level of running infrastructure and participating in governance. Even more so in the future when we reach a more mainstream audience.

So it is not a system in which everyone is equal that would be more akin to socialism which we dont support, it is really a system that fosters open free market participation and people can take as much risk as they are able to. This is why anyone that meets the requirements can become a masternode without needing permission, but it is not an intrinsic right that comes just from holding DASH it is more involved than that. In the future many users wont be involved in running the infrastructure and governing the network, they will just be users and enjoy the decentralized financial services the network offers. We are still at the early stages of the project so many people joining now are joining as investors, infrastructure suppliers and governance representatives but this will change over time specially when more user friendly services are released and more people will join just as standard users.

http://178.254.23.111/~pub/Dash/Dash_Info.html

Holder,Exchange site( ex poloniex, bittrex), service provider, dash bank(?)  also add masternodes

The number could be 5000.

Thats the only explanation for MN to increase without follow up in the market.

Nice, my masternode is also soon back.

Nice read

https://petertodd.org/2016/ethereum-dao-bailout-vote

Quote
put it up for a vote, one coin, one vote, and get cryptographic proof that you’ve actually got the support of the people who have invested their funds in Ethereum

Hmmm

I wonder who solved that problem ages ago...  Grin

People are panicking and moving into more established coins. I think Dash will move sideways until the dust settles from the Brexit thing.

But DASH has so frequent updates and spends much money for advertisement... I hope double bottom will hold.

Well, lets just see if TPTB think we made the right decision. As I understand it, the vote is non-binding and still needs parliamentary approval (no one told the animals on the farm that).

I'm also expecting some other rabbit to be pulled out of the hat that would decide the vote was somehow 'illegal' and that it had to be done all over again.

Of course, it's always wise to let things die down a little before you rudely inform people that their will counts for sh1t.

I desperately hope I'm very, very wrong.
