Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

What's your point?

Edit: Curiosity got the best of me.

Page: 5000 was about 19 hours long.

Hmm, I think I remember what was going on at 5000... we were going in 5k then reverting to 4999, as troll posts were getting deleted. It's possible that what is now number 5000, back then wasn't 5000 but some other number (due to deleted messages that affect the counter).

4000 or 5000, can't really remember. You had to be there to understand. lol

There was a bum fight to be on page 4000 or 5000, and then when everyone thought they had secured their spot in history, the admins went and deleted loads of posts. So if you were on page 4010 or 5010, you had a much better chance of making it.

Why is this relevant?

Well, you had to have been part of that period of time when the community was forming and forging its personality.

Can't we get Gavin Andresen to join the Dash dev team? Now that he's persona non grata over at Bitcoins, why not? Maybe someone can approach him, or we can at least tweet this suggestion to him. We could also create a budget item giving him a signing bonus or "honorarium."

We're still looking for someone to implement a basic version of masternodes into our code. (We only want the paid node incentive part).

If someone is looking for a little side project, we'd love to have a chat and organise a bounty!

Familiar with masternode code?
We're looking for someone who can take our core
code and implement masternodes.

Only the reward system needs adding not any mixing or fancy stuff, just a paid fullnode network.

I've already found a sha256 coin with some masternode code.

We're willing to pay in BTC and CRW, please pm me if
you're interested.

Ofcourse, the infrastructure and community needed
to sustain such a network like Dash is huge.

But we do have big plans and I see paid full nodes like paid miners to be the bedrock for a solid network.

Would drinking at one side of the North Atlantic Ocean be acceptable?
