(Spectrocoin) the exchange rate is way insane.
Loading 1 dash i get 11.1$. Change is 11.61 in this second, an hefty 51 cent (4,6%) Changing in BTC, 17,826 mBTC. On Polo 18,886 - 1,06 mBTC or 5,95% (!!!!).
So if i charge 1000 Dash (about 11600$) in an year or so i lose immediately 500+$
Not acceptable imho (+ other costs). I like the idea, but price should be more fair. Ideas accepted.
Bitwala has the same exchange rate of Spectrocoin, as they stated on the web, so seems expensive too. Anyone know the wirex one?

Hey, this is pretty awsome. I hadn't quite realised the gravity of what's going on with these credit card initiatives.
Spectrocoin actually has a native Dash wallet onboard. So you can have a Dash backed debit card and you've got immediate effective adoption at 20 odd million merchants.
IMO this is the coolest stuff I've used since discovering bitcoin. Actually gives you a reason to move money around the blockchain and finally use crypto for living your life. (Like loading up your card with some Dash, walking into an Applestore and walking out with a new MacbookPro or just get a tin of beans in the local supermarket).
I needed to pay them £6.00 for the card. But no need to put any fiat in the loop - just charge the Dash wallet with 1 Dash and it's done !
I think my bank account is about to be toast.
I feel the same way. I've been messing around with BTC for years, and with Dash since 2014, but apart from using it to donate to various good causes I've never actually bought anything with crypto until I got this card. It's a nice feeling to actually buy a bottle of booze with my masternode earnings! I only got the card because they said they were integrating Dash. Having declared myself NOT a shill for Spectro, now I've been checking out their affiliate program. I'll be moving from Europe to South East Asia in a few months and who knows, I may end up supplementing my income there with Spectrocard recruitment. Expect a Dash translation proposal soon

Another thing - the Great british Pound has lost 70% of its value against Bitcoin over the last 18 months. Once that starts to penetrate into people's heads this kind of service is going be massive IMO. It may be the killer product that lights the touchpaper on cryptocurrencies as a mainstream store of value.
BTC has almost been a nice silver lining for me since the referendum result. I have to admit that it was not planned for me to be holding a significant stack at the right time. Lucky coincidence. "Lucky coincidence" or a little knowledge of world banking+crypto+anonymity,,,:-)

Not the management fees (1€ month or 2.5€ to withdraw i can accept/optimize it), but the exchange rate is way insane. Loading 1 dash i get 11.1$. I kind of agree here:- cost too high because of high exchange charges ect, however the platform (as advertised/used) is very mainstream and usefull But from what I see the Max upper usage limit on this and i expect others similar is low for the "unverified" user (UK Max lifetime load£2500) these guys and others need to look at raising that upper limit ,,, Does'nt mean I would'nt use this EDIT [Do you recon they are locked down on that Max by Govevment stuff]

Bitwala has the same exchange rate of Spectrocoin, as they stated on the web, so seems expensive too. Anyone know the wirex one? Well, I got some data from the team: you can charge the debitcard buying bitcoins with fiat or sending yours At time they response me, the average price for bitcoin on the markets was around 617$ (bitcoinwisdom) and the Wirex opcion was: If you did buy bitcoin with cash you did pay 625$ If you did charge your bitcoin they was valued 594$ So first case would be an exchange rate around 1.30% and second case around 3.7% (still better then Specto or Bitwala) You can load bitcoins with Dash through shapeshift (exchangerate?): https://twitter.com/ShapeShift_io/status/778644146886246401

Nice, another fiat gateway added for Dash.... Dash VP of Business Development Daniel Diaz said, “This is a very exciting financial option for the Dash community. Our growing user base will now be able to keep their money in Dash and use their Shake Debit Card for common day to day expenses, regardless of the merchant accepting virtual currency or not. The addition of Dash to the Shake debit card is also one of the first commercial applications to take advantage of Dash InstantSend technology.”

Are they supporting InstandSend then for Debit Card top-ups ? i think so.. edit : let me refrase that to "i hope so", because i'm not totally sure at the moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52T2Q28Fq_c(this shows Bitcoin payment but they already mention Dash here as well : https://shakepay.co/#/ .. although it does seem limited to North and South America) Dash Community Challenge : who wants to do a Dash InstantX transaction video demo through Shake and link it in our forum?

Correct me if I'm wrong here. Doesn't the recent compliance integration disqualify Dash as an anonymous crypto? https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/interview-dash-and-coinfirm-on-digital-currency-compliance-partnership-1475867943There's no value in making crypto complaint when the principal design is peer-to-peer. This goes against the core fundamentals on which bitcoin was founded. Why would someone want to use crypto that is compliant when they can use fiat currency that is far more stable as a measure of value and accepted in more places.. Bitcoin adoption and cryptocurrency in general is a movement to replace the existing system with a crypto economy not comply with regulations made for financial institutions. The goal is to get merchants and customers using crypto not some regulated fiat replacement or card that interfaces with existing clearing house infrastructure. Apparently the people working on this coin didn't read the first sentence of Satoshi's white paper.. "A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution." - Satoshi Nakamoto, https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

More like it helps propel "anonymous crypto" into markets where people might actually use it en masse. (Check out 3 posts above )

"A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution." - Satoshi Nakamoto, https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdfLet me correct you by quoting from the very article you are referring to : https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/interview-dash-and-coinfirm-on-digital-currency-compliance-partnership-1475867943Speaking withBitcoin Magazine, Ryan Taylor, Director of Finance at Dash, says that this new collaborative effort with Coinfirm will open up potential opportunities to “expand into products and services that we haven’t been able to provide or integrate in the past. We’re super excited about this because it’s definitely a game changer in terms of what we can do moving forward.” Taylor notes that nothing will fundamentally change with Dash’s core protocol, product and privacy elements as a result of this partnership. What this move addresses, he says, are efforts to build mass adoption through the addition of new products and services through various business partnerships. Basicly it opens the door for more mainstream business customers while still providing privacy services to those customers that need it. The reason Dash can make this work is because Dash privacy elements that are integrated at core protocol are of optional nature. Users choose to have privacy with Dash or not.
