710 pages in and people are still talking about a goddamn logo.. holy fucking shit..
i don't care about the logo, i don't suspect anyone really care besides cheerleaders..
but i do care about bullshit.. the less bullshit you write, the better. I'm talking about "11 high performance hashing solutions chained together" which is about the biggest crock of shit i've ever heard..
these are not solutions.. they are not "high performance".. the term "high performance" means fuckall in cryptocurrencies because it's all relative..
salesguys salesguysing..

Not a fan sorry. Good effort though. Just a tip for your slogan - "privacy-coin" shouldn't have a hyphen in it (in this context). It should be two separate words. Hyphens are used when the compound word is used as an adjective, not as a noun. Same thing with the "transaction-system".

You can mine DarkCoin at www.CoinMine.pw - the best place to park your workers! - Easy switch worker from web interface without reconnects and stales!
- Auto switch workers with personal Coin Sets and Coin's Difficulty range for every Worker
Oh.. First X11 multipool. Who is the admin? If you check the profit they say Profit/HIRO, what means that they set HIRO as the reference profit, but they should use DRK, just like BTC is reference profit for sha256, LTC is reference for scrypt and VTC reference for scrypt-N Profit/HIRO shows Coin Profitability relative to HIRO (HIROCoin) Profitability ratio. In other words, it shows an estimate of how much more you will earn mining this coin than if you were mining HIRO (usually you can earn more mining alternate coins). And by the way, it's calculating something wrong, because it should have 1.00 as profit/HIRO but it says right now 1.07. Edit: I guess niceman is the admin, sending him PM... I set HIRO as reference because DARKcoin has variable block reward, but profitability calculation based on reward. HIRO profitability some tome become not 1, because HIRO difficulty changes from last profit check. We NEED more hash power to find some blocks!

Can I suggest that if people want to offer criticism, please step up and offer your time & work to the cause. Darkcoin is entirely volunteer based, so we do the best we can with the resources we have available. I would LOVE it if the solution were as simple as "stop changing things, everything's fine". A vote for no more changes to the logo is just that -- your vote. Please don't try to subvert the democratic process -- campaigning loudly for your opinion doesn't give you more votes. We're nearly there with the logo, and I don't expect anyone wants a long period of deliberation on variants now that we have the base design chosen. From here, there's still a lot of work to be done. Logo --> branding guide --> press releases, graphics, website, etc. The process of hashing out high quality, professional branding via group consensus is always going to be painful & tedious, and this is something I fully accepted before jumping in. Branding is important even if it seems trivial sometimes. So let's take the time to get it right. The community is coming out with some great work, like the baby blue variation. To me these contributions represent progress. A vote will likely be called to decide on the logo & colour palette, and then we can consider these things finalised and move forward. I fully understand & sympathise that branding efforts are taking quite a lot of time. It's a pain in my ass too, let me assure you. But I believe in taking the time to do things right the first time. Please get behind the effort and support it, because it represents our face to the world. To address the concern about volume of posts on logo stuff in this thread, may I make a suggestion: We move all logo/branding discussion to darkcointalk.org, as a self-enforced policy.Yay/nay?

The thing is that the vote was to choose a logo and its variations, however, the chosen one and its variation are only b&w, so the vote should be between the two of them, not between different color scheme. Now it seems that the people who want the most to change the color are the ones who were against that logo in the first place... So no I'm not trying to subvert the democratic process.

Honestly, I never expected any designer would get it exactly right (as far as community consensus goes). We voted on the logo -- nobody has had a chance to vote on the colour palette yet. The chosen colour palette is super important to the design / branding of everything going forward. This process is not going to take long, if that's what's bothering you. Maybe a few days to a week, and hopefully the discussion can be contained over at darkcointalk. If you're worried the vote will go against a b&w version, you have to consider the implication that your preference goes against the majority. Personally I have no idea what a vote will say once people have considered the submitted variants. It may well be the b&w version. But I'm happy for the community to decide, even if my personal preference is for a coloured version.

If the discussion moves to darkcointalk it will involve less of the community. And if it was made clear that the original vote was not including the color scheme i missed it and im sure I wasnt the only one. Didn't vote for the winner, but it won. Let's do it, can;t please everyone. It looks great.

We move all logo/branding discussion to darkcointalk.org, as a self-enforced policy.Yay/nay? A resounding Yay. Wish this become more focused on technical discussions where everyone can come and participate. We have only see AnonyMint so far and will more likely see others down the road as more betas and RCs roll out. This is not to discourage other non-technical discussions at all, but it would definitely help to move logo discussions over there, a place where mostly DRK community would participate.

It was made clear. It's literally the very first thing stated on the official logo vote thread.

THIS IS AMAZING! Excellent work, I love it! No offense to droptable who put in a lot of work, this is just my opinion, am I the only one who thinks this doesn't look good at all? The overdone textures, lensflare, actual "coin" design. We just took a step away from that and here we are going backwards. This feels like we didn't like the "D" and simply wanted to replace it. We were looking for an actual brand logo and we found it, we just need to tweak it to our liking, not put on a metal textured coin. 100% agree. It does not look professional. 3D anything is completely the wrong direction. 50DRK to anyone who can find a professional logo with lensflare on it. (mind you, I said professional. if you google lensflare on a logo you do get results, and none of them are professional in the slightest) I like it, and appreciate the hard work! But I still prefer the one we have no, on the front page. We just need to use the new "D" on it.

Is it profitable to mine? I see that I can mine 5+ coins a day for 3 GPU, it's probably better to mine multipool and buy DRK...

It depends on what you pay for electricity. X11 can use up to 50% less electricity than scrypt, so that should be factored in when calculating profitability.
