Can't believe this coin is so underpriced with all it brings to the market: X11, DGW, Darksend.

It's surrounded by Marinecoin, Infinitecoin, Zetacoin and Worldcoin in marketcap - all coins being generic and adding very little to the crypto scene (maybe a Zeta with M-pesa if the rumour sets out to be true).

I guess overtime, eventually, fundamentals take over.

YEP, low diff and I get 0,62 DRK/hour so 14,88/day !!! YES YES YES.....dont mine it to early guys Tongue
Some write that it`s not profitable but persistent ones will win. With my 4x 280x + i5 I get 0,0189 BTC/day - electricity.... so get more that any other scrypt coin mining.... who knows how long it lasts....

mow much do you pay per kwh

Prezzo dell'Energia - F1 €/kWh 0,117500
Prezzo dell'Energia - F2 €/kWh 0,041500
Prezzo dell'Energia - F3 €/kWh 0,041500

So I have 4 gpu 280x every conumes about 200watt/h = 4*200watt = 0,8 kWh (assuming just on my eye looking at counter don`t have a killawatt) If 280x takes less than 200 watt for hour...the proifitability will rise Smiley
I get 9000 Mhash/s with them.

60hours a week pay 0,1175 euro/kWh = 7,05 euro
60hours a week pay 0,0415 euro/kWh = 2,49 euro
and 2 days of weekend = 48 hours pay 0,0415 euro/kWh = 1,5936
---------------
After 1 WEEK of 7/24 mining it costs me 11,13 euro + VAT (10%)
After 1 MONTH of 7/24 mining it costs me 47,71 euro + VAT (10%)
1 month costs of electricity is 52,48 euro
---------------
I get ~7,5 drk/day nowadays...today almost doubled coins with this low diff....
7,5 coin * ~0,0013BTC/coin = 0,00975BTC/day * 30 days = 0,2925BTC * 370 euro = 108,22 euro profit - 52,48 euro costs of electricity = 55,74 euro clear profit @ 4x 280x gpu

EDIT: sorry I did wrong calculations with weekly hours Smiley - too much mathetmatics Cheesy

It seems you didn't receive the first electricity bill yet...
The price u put for F1, ,F2, F3 r pure prices for electricity... u forgot dispatchment, fees and lot of other imposts u should know we r used to have here in Italy...
If u have a good electricity tariff u can hope in an optimistic 0.25/0.30 euro/kwh...
So it's better to remake ur counts or u'll have bad surprises...
Not last, remember in Italy the price per kwh rises with consumption... Using 6000 kwh/year u pay double price per kwh than using 3000 kwh/year...
With 4x7950 undervolted i have 850 at wall... w your rigs (4x280x + i5 cpu) u'll be approx 900/1000w... It means for 24/7 u r approx 8500/9000 kwh/year (just for the rig... + all the rest u have at home!)
I'm not saying not to mine, but make your right counts... I'm doing it... and not for daily profit but 'cause i believe and trust the potential of some alt coins!
Happy mining!  Grin

Exactly the same thing would happen to darkcoin if a p&d team with lots of BTC to play with would decide to target it so I don't know what's there to lol about.

Nothing to lol about, but people need to know where they put their money and don't compare BC and DRK, because they are very different coins and have different kind of investors.

10% instamine - FACT

launched when both Europe and the USA were asleep - FACT

block reward was 500 per block every few seconds - FACT

launched with no windows wallet  - FACT

to make the matters worse

block reward now 20 with 2.5 min

developers reduced the total number of coins from 88 million to 22 million.

darkcoin is a scam and everyone knows this. thats why it is the least profitable coin to mine by far

that is why when every altcoin increase in %50-%200 price darkcoin stuck at 10%.

we are not stupid.

there was absolutely no reason to decrease the number of coins. but devs that held hundreds of thousands of darkcoin (maybe millions) wanted to increase the value of their assets.

you know what happened? nothing. price did not even increase when they made the coins scarce. these moronic devs dont know 1 thing about economy.

price depends on DEMAND.

imbeciles.

FACT: Evan screwed up the beginning of this coin
FACT: Evan fixed it as soon as he realized what happened (within the first 24 hours)
FACT: Nobody knew the extent of the oops until about a week later when a block explorer was made.
FACT: At that point, nobody wanted to go back and start over again after a week's mining on this coin, and if it had stopped at that point, many people who support this coin so rigorously and have done so much for this coin wouldn't be here today.
FACT: If you don't like what this coin does have to offer, it's your choice, why are you here?  Do you think the rest of us don't know the history? It's written out all over the place and easy to research.  If you don't like it go away.
FACT: The reduction of coin value to 22 million was something the WHOLE community voted for (I argued against, but lost, too bad) and has NO impact on the number of coins to be created this year, nothing has changed accept a 7% reduction in rewards each year starting in January 2015.  This, overwhelmingly was what the community wanted.
FACT: I beg to differ, I'm not so sure a few of you here aren't stupid, short sighted and unwise.

The market cap rankings are a sea of +20-50%'s right now, with the exception of DRK, VTC, and XCP (a technologically innovative non-fork coin that implements financial instruments).

It seems trying to do something interesting is actually a curse in altcoin-land. Grin

You know, I think that most of the people that are interested in this coin are simply not as manipulate-able as others.  We're interested in something different, something other than a quick buck.  We're kind of idealistic group.  I think they've been testing us out since the beginning and they just can't get a foothold.

Exactly the same thing would happen to darkcoin if a p&d team with lots of BTC to play with would decide to target it so I don't know what's there to lol about.

True, and it may still happen, especially after DarkSend goes open source.  That's where I'm worried.  If we climb at a respectable but slow pace, I'll be impressed, but I suspect there will be enough excitement for our first pump, and we'll probably get dumped on as well.  It's not like it hasn't happened to Bitcoin, the Grandfather of our coin, so it happens to the best of 'em.

So if P&D come here what all of you will do ? How will you determine what is the proper reaction in such circumstances ?

I've thought about it, but I have no idea.  If I sold because I thought it was a pump, I may never get my coin back, then again, it could all fall apart, and I could lose the coins I have for a long time again??  Or???  Who knows.  If I were smart, I'd see it coming, sell high and buy back low.  Unfortunately, I have no faith in myself in knowing when that would be??

Can anybody explain to me why the total coins were reduced from 84 million to 22 million?..
Because as far as i think who had a such amount of coins in the wallet, after reducing have a percent of total coin 4 times more... and also the value i think got higher...
Is it correct?

Investors approached Evan, our developer, and said they wouldn't invest in DarkCoin because of it's open ended unknown final number of coins (in theory, with indefinite time, we could have had indefinite coins if the hash rate stayed low)  Anyway, it was put to a vote to lower the number of coins that could be mined down to 7% each year.  This resulted in the new maximum number of coins that could be mined.  I believe around 90% of the community that voted wanted the total reduced, therefore it was reduced.

That's really cool, and more than that, it shows that they've got a comeback for the new Chinese laws.  The more they push, the more the people slip through their fingers Cheesy

LOL, in my defense it was the first thing I saw after a very busy, hard day today, LOL.
