Federal judge orders Apple to build a backdoor to the iPhone to catch terrorists.

Apple says they're not doing it. (At least that's what they're saying in public  Wink  ).

No backdoor is built unless publicly denied it has been. Smiley

Well...It feels good to have made a couple of Masternode's worth of DASH off the "trolleros".   There are some nice peeps over there...but still after all the trolling their reps did here, it feels good  Tongue

How did you know it was going up certain enough to invest $6000 and double it?

Liquidity is quite tight on Dash.

You don't notice it till you're on the outside trying to get back in  Wink

I was about to attempt to grab some at 88 but some guy on poloniex trollbox told me it was a "clear head and shoulders" and I should wait cos it was going down. Just looked like a spike to me. All the same, never like to go against seasoned trading advice from the most authoritative source on the planet do we.

Could do with one of those 2k dumps right now but look at the masternode count....3537. It keeps filling up. That means the liquidity's going to keep getting tighter and tighter.

I guess its a matter of perspective...is $6000.00 considered a substantial investment?!?  For the record...it was more then that.  What I have to invest is my private business...  But to address the first portion of your question....that was no gamble at all and a no brainer.

Any currency that has its rabid members being paid to full time Troll other coins is surely going to be invested heavily in their own cesspool.  The indicators were and are still there.  Actually, I'm fully looking for that currency to pump and dump several more times....and I don't mind ratcheting up considerably the investment...because now there are some serious bag holders on hook over there...making me more comfortable with throwing some $ around.

Sure its a risk...all of this still is...but I was willing to hedge that with a bunch of clowns running around shooting their mouths off...they would be willing to buy those big mouths.  Wink

EDIT:  I think its worth noting the consequence of such belligerent activity is alienating a whole swaths of the crypto community.  Many of us here invest in other coins as well, and quite substantially too.  But I also know many here...would never touch that currency because of the behavior of that community, even if the tech was super awesome.  Sad...instead of courting everyone and laying out their platform in a meaningful way...they went FULL TROLL instead.   Now they have investors such as me with our sights set on messing things up a bit over there...where it hurts, the pocket book.  Wink

Got a few more friends now interested in that particular coin...the radar is on. Thats the blow back those guys face when they piss off whales.   And from this moment on...mum's the word.  Smiley

It's an operating-system issue, not a Dash/Bitcoin/WhatEverCoin problem.

The operating systems using those glibc versions (means: most Linux distributions)  are vulnerable, therefore ALL software not statically linked to a 'safe' glibc version/replacement is vulnerable.

Update your Linux once a fix is available and you'll be okay.

to update Linux once a fix is available, would these be the commands to use ? (google provided those to me, i just need verification if these are the correct ones)

stopping dashd
go to root

./sudo apt-get update
./sudo apt-get upgrade
./sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

if new kernel

./sudo reboot

restart dashd

[stop dash-cli]
dash-cli stop
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo reboot
[restart dash]

thanks for the feedback

Or maybe someone doesn't want the market to crash too fast while he is exiting. It all depends on the way you put it. Only time can tell.

Put DASH to masternodes.
And reduce coin in the exchange
If price fall down to 0.0050 level again, masternode number would increse to 3600 more faster.
I regard masternode as POS miner.
Cheap masternode give you more income.

Core team attract  to hold coin by masternode POS system, until DASH economy mature.

As for me I'd prefer 0.02 price to 10000 masternodes Grin

Or maybe someone doesn't want the market to crash too fast while he is exiting. It all depends on the way you put it. Only time can tell.

Take a close look at the network node statistics an in particular the last centimetre (about 2 weeks). It was levelling off and now it's got a new inflexion upwards again - consistent with the nodecount ATH.

What that means is that every time there's a dump, more of the traded coin supply is being pushed into what I call the "reserve market" (because it earns a return in exchange for 'parked funds').

Now take a look at this:

Lets examine what's going on here for a moment. The one consistent trend that's been almost uninterrupted for the last 2 years is a growth in the reserve market. i.e. the number of positions which investors have purchased to gain a return on their earnings (or to enjoy the benefits of holding a masternode position with voting rights etc - whatever).

Now the supply to that reserve market can only come from the currency market (liquidity not deployed in collateralising masternodes) and this has been steadily decreasing for the best part of 2 years. (Blue section in this illustration). So you would expect valuation to rise or at least stay level with rising continuous demand and diminishing supply.

What looks to me to have been going on, however, is that there's been some major continuous liquidation from a large holder form February to November of last year which decoupled the two trends under major market pressure. It may not be that - it may just be natural excess supply to markets, but Just look how perfectly linear that price trend is and then abruptly stops in November at which point the valuation abruptly snaps back to follow the expected supply-demand profile according to the increasing reserve market size.

Then in January the selling starts again, driving them apart again.

It's just plain arithmetic. The price has got to snapback as currency market liquidity gets ever tighter. Looks to me that the natural valuation right now is around 0.015 but it's likely to way overshoot that and then retrace in the event of any sudden rise.

The fact is Evan has created something that is in substantial demand. A monetary structure that works and the evidence is staring us right there in the face. Nor is it short term "pump and dump" demand, it's long term. The trend is constant, solid and basically unbroken for nearly 2 years. That is an eternity in crypto and this is an economic model that is at once subtle as the tide and monster powerful.
