Looks like some people got burnt into XC coin. Is there anything more stupid to exchange DRK to XC. New way to burn your DRK
Price on XC goes up, people sell DRK for XC, XC getting dumped, Pleople getting back to DRK. And the winner is - Mintpal !!!
Leftover some pretty fast daytraders
XC to DRK is like Whitecoin to Blackcoin.. only for margin trading, shortly trader will stops buying it, user found tech problems, trolls take over the thread, dev will abandon then start creating another weekend project 'anon' coin

> 85% of coins are now in potential masternodes (adresses with more than 1000 DRK)
It means : - Dumpers, trolls, haters and sellers have lost enormous money by panicking each time, as EVERYBODY TOLD THEM not to. I am sad for them and they are trying to catch any copycat bandwagon, with no odd of middle term success (Monero and bytecoin, then Libertycoin, X11 coin, perhaps limecoin (LIM), even XCP is having a mixer...) - Liquidity is very low now, Prices can't go down and will skyrocket with no needs of firm reason or news.
What people want NOW is perfect bitcoin alternative with total privacy for their transactions. With so much adresses, the masternodes network can be solid and unattackable in the next few days. The absolute priority now is easy set up guides for everybody.
Devs, whales, investors...don't trade anymore and begin to set up Masternodes, and you will be rich in next days. Holders may understand they cant accumulate more than 85% without hig risks to lose everything. Manipulation and dumps will be harder now, and are a total waste of time on the 500 M$ marketcap route.

hello there is a a backdoor in the version 10.8.8 i have been stolen 999 dark coin from my master node here is my wallet address http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?XfNfxwfQpVKccGprG6PdRWT2UtMGoM9gCL.htm
it has been moved to this wallet XwKx3mWB9ncJo5ZudqyEZ1MoQWMSmE3CwP
it seems either the devs or someone who gave the version given on darkcoin.io got a backdoor
here is the log of my masternode server st login : from 192.162.103.175 Can you give a little more info, did you have the wallet encrypted? How was your darkcoin.conf setup? the wallet was encrypted by a hard password the wallet was started as use and not root i have changed the ssh port from 22 to another installed fail2ban did all security thing and still got hacked the starge thing is that it has been sent only 999 and not all of the darks which is 1000.6 the walet that received the dark is XwKx3mWB9ncJo5ZudqyEZ1MoQWMSmE3CwP is there anything to do to block that wallet adress? before he move it somewhere else and sell ? The ONLY way I can see that someone could do that is if you left the RPC port open in firewall and the rpcuser and rpcpassword was really easy. Even then they would have to know the password that you encrypted the wallet with. Did you maybe use the same password for rpcuser and the password you used to encrypt the wallet? Are you running apache on the server and maybe the user that you started apache with has read access to the directory where you conf file is? Need more info thank you very much for the help over skype, it seems that the hacker could enter my vps, don't know how exactly but he did he will post on darkcointalk some advice and tips to not have the same issue as me if someone can help me in any way please send some tip on my darkcoin wallet XhGwaKJPMdqEyMU85QBReNNMzVGKDW2EPz thanks who sent me the tip i really appreciate the gesture ! and thanks for the dev for looking into my VPS and check where was the fail

In my opinion, DRK is currently being played by whales and day traders.
Modus operandi:
* Wait for DRK to reach 0.0140-0.0150 * Buy everything up to 0.0160 * Set a buy wall anywhere between 0.0150 and 0.0160 to pump up the price (100 BTC buy wall is a good bet) * Wait for DRK to reach 0.0180 * Retract buy wall and dump
* Rinse & repeat

Is anyone concerned about having half the nodes at a facility that currently has a $600m contract with the CIA for use of their cloud servers, or is this a non-issue?
What are you talking about? This sounds like FUD. I'm not, Evan already said that in the future with next update masternodes won't see what's going on, so we could run them in FBI-CIA-Cloud.com and feel find about it.

If you really want to run a masternode although you aren't too much into the security stuff (which I advise against!) then you at least might wanna use 2-FA for your SSH access. Here's a fool-proof (well, there's always a greater fool!) tutorial on how to do that on Ubuntu. http://www.howtogeek.com/121650/how-to-secure-ssh-with-google-authenticators-two-factor-authentication/edit: btw, the Android Google Authenticator isn't open source anymore! You can download "OTP Authenticator" which is a fork of the last Google Authenticator version that was open source. There's the binaries on the play store, the source is hosted on sourceforge iirc.

I am just going to throw out there what I said the other day... I wish I could find the article I read, but I am sure someone else read the same thing. I don't always understand where people come up with their analysis, but so far he seems dead on, and I am encouraged at the possibilities still.... not wavering one bit.
To recap, he stated that so far DRK has followed the same pattern over and over (I think he said it has happened 5-6 times already), and that is the price of DRK climbs 5x, and then has a 40% sell-off.
Well, the price peaked at .0277 btc before this latest drop started...
Using that number, .0277 x .6 = .01662
This is right about where we have seen the price finally settle after some valleys & peaks trading around this level.
So assuming he is right, sometime in the next couple of weeks the coin could be heading upwards to the .0831 neighborhood ($48.04 based on current price of BTC).
Just repeating what I read really, but until I see different I think it is the best analysis I have seen.
This makes sense. The general consensus is that at some point DRK will test LTC. This isn't only my belief, or the beliefs of the full time trades I talk with on a regular basis, but also the belief of many prominent BTC evangelists, writers and investors. But the price can't just jump up like that, it has to do it in swings, it's how markets work. All the people selling now are just short term investors who can't look past the 15M charts and think this downtrend is the end. I really wouldn't worry about the price right now, it will settle soon and then we will see another huge uptrend. Me, and so many other experienced traders are just using moments like this to increase our stake. Darkcoin is the most innovative coin since bitcoin, fullstop, I would seriously like to see a competent argument against this, There isn't another coin out there that can influence the way the market works in the way this coin can. Don't worry about the price, and if you are, just make sure your in before the next jump. I don't think there is anymore than two before we test 0.1 To put this in perspective, I'm now sitting on my first loss in six months. Am I worried? Nope. This is called price discovery, and we can't move up again until we shake off all the weaker investors from this recent rise. Some people just don't have the stomach for swings, these are the people who more often than not lose money. Anyways, from my perspective, the more the price drops the better. It just means were shaking off more of those investors and getting more serious ones in. I mean shit, who else buys near the end of a downtrend apart from good investors? Because its defiantly not the weak investors, this is exactly when their supposed to sell. Exactly. > 85% of coins are now in potential masternodes (adresses with more than 1000 DRK)

Up from 80% yesterday. Actually manipulation becomes easier in one important way - when a small group owns the majority of coins, guess who dictates the price. When the chocks come off, the next rise is going to be big. Darksend and the masternode system will simply evolve faster due to the recent lessons learned. Good to see Evan getting offers of skilled help! About masternodes in the hands of the inept, shit inevitably happens. Nothing can be done about that, dunderheads will be dunderheads, but I think eltito and others are right in that an ISO with good secure defaults and a more detailed 'official security procedure' somewhere will go a long way to keeping problems to a minimum.
