Hello, Mrs Robinson  Kiss

I was just trying to head off to go and finish a partly opened bottle of JD and wait for the price to go above 0.025.

Now you're here, I can smooch off in the confidence that you will take the trolls to task, should the need arise.

I won't see what they're saying 'cause I have 'em all on ignore, LOL

Guys maybe best to move the discussion to a non-moderated thread "why XC is a scam?"
Then we can talk Dark here.
There's an unmoderated XC thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631052.0

There is no interest....just looking for fuel for the pump

It's not meant to rival the other thread, it's there so that people can make points on XC that won't be removed, and to redirect people to from here when they won't STFU about XC. For a bit until that thread was started the DRK thread was becoming more like another XC thread.

It's sad that DRK supporters would have to make an "XC uncensored thread" --> this just goes to show how threatened DRK bagholders feel by XC.  Makes me laugh
#truth

I don't feel offended by you being here but seriously man, consider this: we all have limited time in our lives, and you really want to yours on negativity at a place where you have no friends?

Go back to the XC thread and help build them a better community, would be better for everyone.

Deanonymisation of clients in Bitcoin P2P network

http://arxiv.org/pdf/1405.7418.pdf

It's about real attacks on Bitcoins privacy (features), intresting read and insights and findings should/could help on making Darkcoin safer/securer, being still in the design phase, DRK could avoid some of Bitcoins faults .

If the results are replicated and verified by several others, this could be bad news for bitcoin.

any thoughts?

Sorry, but it's putting me to sleep  Tongue  Can you give us an overview?  LOL.  So did they manage to crack into BC despite use of tor or something?  HOw much info could they get?  Who are they?  LOL

They seem to indicate that there are ways to develop reliable tools to link bitcoin addresses and transactions to IP addresses.

To summarize, for those coins devs mudslinging is easier than innovation ! Pay trolls to gain investors. I would not entrust a cent to someone with that mindset.

You should see the DRK trolls on XC's thread.  They are way worse.  At least I am spreading truth and sound reasoning.  The intelligence level of the trolls that you kids sent us is damn near insulting.

There are indeed trolls on XC's thread, but they were not "sent by us", any more than you were "sent by" the XC team. In fact there are XC people in your thread now telling you to shut up, as you're hurting your own coin with your spamming of this thread. No-one will support your coin if they think the best arguments for it is the ones you're currently putting forward.

Yes, please don't see a few XC people throwing mud in the DRK thread as a representation of XC communities in general.   Same with there are DRK throwing mud in the XC thread.

Generalization never brings any good in any civilized world.    This is a high stakes game and emotion runs high.

Just remember that everyone represent themselves and not the "communities".   Bad apples exist in all communities.   If each communities just ignore the trolls, they will go away.

Quick question: I sent some BTC to a DRK address accidentally on Poloniex. BTC gone on Poloniex. The address does not exist on the BitCoin blockchain. Am I fucked?

BTC addresses start with 1, DRK addresses start with X. They wouldn't ever be able to send DRKs to a BTC address, so your funds can't be lost. Most likely your balance will reappear after a while. Otherwise open a support ticket on Poloniex.

edit: Sorry, I had it turned around in my head. But obviously the same applies to sending BTC to a DRK address. Not possible.

Yah, I'm pretty sure law enforcement has something set up already...  It's a pretty thick report, and seems to indicate that tor doesn't help much?

I can't believe how people is so easy to manipulate with stupid and repetitive trolls.

I was watching the progress of DRK and the other coin all day (-5 GMT ), and is really sad how the greed whales are destroying the "other coin" and getting tons of BTC's from people with dreams (many of them kids).

When they try to do the same huge roller coaster in DRK, they found a strong community that is not so easy to manipulate. In DRK case is sad how "whales apprentice" are going bad.

On a regulated system is mandatory show the message on every exchange: "you can lose money".
Here not.

More Random FUD

MrWhale,

Since you don't seem to have any understanding of what the term "trustless" means, I'll explain it to you. It's impossible to do trustless mixing with the way XC works.

It's obvious that it's just a normal mixer that was implemented in a decentralized way. So it must work like this:

1.) Your client connects to a mixer node
2.) Your client sends money to the mixer node, then asks it to send money to another address
3.) Your money gets deposited into the mixers pool of funds
4.) Then the miner sends out the money to the address you specified

The problem is the node doesn't have to send the money, then you've just lost the money you sent. What if I ran a node and messed with the code to collect money but not send any out?

Darksend is "trustless" because it requires signatures from everyone involved to make the transaction valid. There is no opportunity to lose money at any point during the process.

Nor does he seem to understand the differences between a generic coinjoin implementation and Darksend (they are quite different, Mr. Whale).

Also, his "study" is straight up amateur hour as far as those sorts of usually go.  Someone should do some Internet sleuthing on its authors and origination.  At minimum the authors display a critical lack of understanding of Darksend's coinjoin modifications.  My hunch is that it's an intentional hit piece masquerading as objective research.

Let me rephrase that: I would be interested in knowing if there is any demonstrable connection between that "study" and any of DRK's competitor coins or communities.

Don't go doxxing anybody for fuck's sake.
