Excellent article. I hadn't considered this in such terms: there is only one chance in 1.3 trillion for someone with twenty five masternodes (an investment of around 160,000 usd at today's price) to control the eight involved ones and trace the transaction. And the best bit is, even then it's untraceable as virgin addresses are used each time. I don't think many people realise yet just how big a deal Darksend+ is. You can forget blockchain analysis completely. Go stare at a brick wall for hours, you'll learn exactly as much...

If it concerns you so, why not go watch the public testing? Or get your butt on testnet and contribute? I'm sick of people pretending there is no news... Is this the best a troll can do these days?

Time for Positive Change.
I believe that its now time for a change in tone on this forum. Its become far to toxic, immature, repetitive and simply lacks the respect to the shear amount of work that has gone into creating Darkcoin. It is certainly is not representative of a currency that has consistently been in the the top 5 position. I certainly have not helped by adding to the clutter. Many if us senior Darkcoin investors should take it upon ourselfs to create a professional environment.
People are looking for guidance and leadership from us, we should deliver. New investors are looking here for information and insight. I propose we provide this.
To this end... please PM me for those of you Dark holders that are interested in being mentors for new and old investors by developing a cohesive and on message response to questions and to develop a professional strategy to deal eith FUD and trolls and create a positive forum experience.
The future is bright indeed.

Too late though.. Cloak has already figured it out and wil always do it better then drk. PoSA is out and in the open.. Bouyaaa! They post an article by an admitted darkcoin fanboy and pretend it's objective. These darkcoin bagholders are running scared. The trains derailed. Darkcoin had a good run and many of us made money. But all things come to an end sooner or later.

It's pretty simple: If DarkCoin becomes the long term preferred coin for unlawful trades (Drugs, Guns, CP) on the Dark Web. It will be 50x till 300x of the value today.
If it wont, DRK will be worthless, like other failed coins. The project most likely dies or finds small niche, were it can survive with its own small scene/use cases then.
The project would die, as everybody would be turning to supporting the preffered Dark Web coin. Who knows which coin that will be.
This is not DRK-specific, all anon coins would die or be semi-dead (without the winning one) by then. As it is pretty obvious that there is only room, for one privacy crypto-currency to establish an healthy community and eco-system, so the coin can survive mid-term/long-term.
The #1 coin for illegal trade, will 100% also be the #1 coin for legitimate private crypto-currency usage. Because of network effects for eg.
don't forget about the 3billionbillions waiting to get laundreuaudé.. also don't forget the most important aspect.. people will use it as cash..

I have been considering the impact of the new American regulations, and they are looking more and more hostile to the fundamentals of Bitcoin every time I think about them. Lets look at charge backs. Currently, they do not exist, unless you do a rollback of the entire network as Mint has recently demonstrated. The lack of charge backs has been a significant aspect and benefit of Bitcoin. If you transact with someone or a vendor, you can't get your crypto back. There is a checksum to prevent sending to a completely bogus address.
However, if you send to the wrong address, you lose your money. If you send to the wrong address and you happen to know who it is, you can ask them to give your money back, but it's on their honor to actually do so.
Vendors like the idea of one-way transactions, because it prevents bogus charge backs being imposed by card issuers and banks. The onus is on the individual to get their money back through civil legal proceedings. This aspect has spurred vendors to accept Bitcoin as the costs are significantly lower than the 1%-4% surcharges they incur by having card facilities. A significant aspect of this fee goes towards insurance for fraud and administering charge backs. Now we have regulations that will require many different vendors and network choke points to keep records of their users - so the consumer protection aspect of the regulations will end up not protecting consumers but instead imposing new ways to achieve charge backs against them. If you're trying to remain anonymous (pseudonymous, really), be careful not to reveal any information linking your bitcoin addresses to your identity. Tracking bitcoin transactions against the variety of data that will become available on individuals will make it easy for vendors and the like to write to customers asking for funds to be returned. This could lead to alternative types of charge backs: 1. Customers being put on banned lists that vendors would be able to purchase from 'bitcoin credit reference agencies' that keep track of bitcoin transactions and the owners of addresses. 2. Ambulance chasing lawyers sending out threats of civil proceedings for a percentage of the recovery. 3. Individuals tracking each other down and turning up on doorsteps to get their money back. These highlight good and bad outcomes, but these scenarios could actually see higher costs imposed against bitcoin transactions? Edit I think Darkcoin still gets caught in some of this potential mess, but it avoids so many of the problems.

right guys as rc4 is nearing an end and hopefully all goes well, drk will become the only true anon coin. I feel we should have a two pronged media campaign 1- we should start preparing adverts, posters, videos etc ,lets promote what drk does that no other coin can do. 2- we should raise awareness of btc flaws like how easy your btc address can show your balance to the world and soon link it to your ip address. its like have your bank balance on display for everyone to see with your postcode below. But do it nicely ,we dont want make btc look bad,lol
we should only use 100% facts to prevent troll attacks. If we start now we can have somethings ready for people who hold drk to use to pass on the message...that drk is the ultimate coin. ;-)
Let me pretty up the thread again. These are great !!! These are very well done & tasteful & more appropriate IMO.

No worries Fernando. Enjoyed the article. Don't worry about the trolls. They are feasting on this thread, because they are allowed to. They cannot do that on the scam coin threads which is why Darkcoin is great. I just wish people will not engage them in conversation. Those who are doing it owe it to this thread and community to not quote them, period. A very high degree of discipline is needed from the "fanboys" (lol)/community members in an unmoderated thread and so far that is lacking with even Chaositec and DRKLord et al quoting trolls and trying to reason with them. A prime example is illodin post just above yours. Can you blame the trolls for coming back and flaming away with another response, and then the back and forth from other regulars? This is not the smart way. It just makes everyone's experience a bad one. Listen, the mods will not do anything. Take it on yourselves to show smartness. Don't quote the same trolls who are laughing their way to trollness with all this. Just don't. Period. Just steer the conversation away into some other part of Darkcoin or just ignore. Let's get this thread back on rails please.

Mr. Shojayxt you too must have an investment you believe in... another crypto, your home, car maybe its your children, parents and family... we all have something we believe in. if this is not something you believe in... i respect that. That is your right. I believe in the wines i create at our winery... i also believe in Darkcoin and the technology and the work going in to it. I also except it as one of my payment types. Like Fernando i don't have to hide who i am, Richard Silva. I have no hidden agenda... what is yours?
