DRK's value will be dependent on developing features beyond anonymity, which, as I alluded to, will not be a distinguishing feature from BTC with the advent of anonymizing wallets. I'd be interested to hear about some of these features that are on the development horizon.

Each master node is hosted on a server.

So far, over 800 decentralised servers, with proof of their readiness to serve.

What exactly do you want to host on such a decentralised platform?

Decentralised anonymous corporation stock exchange?
Decentralised markets? What do you fancy selling, or buying?
Decentralised exchanges?
Decentralised Enigma 2.0 messaging?
Decentralised etc, etc

Are you serious?  A decentralised anonymous corporation stock exchange?  I'm sure that the SEC and IRS are really going to approve of that.

That might fly in some third world or Eastern Bloc country but never in the United States.  With impending regulation regarding Bitcoin what makes you think an anonymous coin is safe?  That's why anonymous coins are just an underground fad right now.  They will never gain mainstream adoption because of the anonymity that will be a catalyst for nations around the world to implement more restrictive regulations regarding cryptocurrency transactions.  The reason Bitcoin will survive is because it is not anonymous and they plan on staying that way.  DRK will only have a use for p2p transactions or nefarious underground websites.

You people are kidding yourselves if you think that governments around the world are not going to shut something down that allows masses of people to buy and sell, transfer and receive funds without some way for them to track those transactions to ensure that you're not money laundering, funding terrorists, or failing to pay taxes.

Don't get me wrong.  True anonymity is a good thing but it's never going to be allowed.  That's why Darkcoin is doomed to fail.

The fact is, the IRS and SEC can disapprove all they want but they cannot stop it. The snake has many heads -- cut one off and 3 more grow out to replace it.  Smiley

Anonymous, decentralized exchanges are an inevitability. Just like a toddler who can't get what he wants, western governments will kick, scream and throw tantrums about this. But they will lose, and make fools of themselves. This is the age in which government will begin to lose its grasp on the power to control our lives and our behaviors from cradle to grave. And Darkcoin is going to be a powerful, driving force in this global revolution.

DRK guys,

The level of hostility and tit-for-tat retorts against Bobsurplus and Shojayxt has gone to fever pitch. What happened to just ignoring these guys?

Think back to your school days. What was the most effective tool against a playground bully? To ignore them. They hate being ignored because a lack of response from you is the very worst of experiences for them. And when you do this they ratchet up the pressure and get much louder. And if you continue to ignore them they get even LOUDER. And then, with continued ignoring they enter into a frothing-at-the-mouth phase where it's so extreme they end up making a complete spectacle of themselves.

The problem here is that we're failing to ignore them (even after everyone's said they would). To "ignore" means exactly that. It's to not respond at all on any level to a single posting. It means don't even use a blank quote box (so that you're not reiterating their words); the mere fact you're writing a responding post means you've not ignored them. Just don't respond AT ALL. They will get louder and louder but will suddenly vanish. That's how it works.

It is obvious to anyone that has any experience at all with human nature that Bobsurplus and Shojayxt are worried about DRK's likely success and feel a desperate need to put DRK, and everyone here that believes in it, down. As someone pointed out, we should be flattered. But their venom and nastiness will just disappear if we truly ignore them in every respect.

I know you won't reply since you're ignoring me but I'll ask the question anyway.

Why would I be worried about DRK being successful?  The sun still shines, the sky is still blue, and the grass is still green.  Oh damn DRK is successful!  It's the end of the world.  I'm worried!

Now don't you feel just a little bit silly for making that statement?

They can in the United States.

This is the age in which government will begin to lose its grasp on the power

They were saying that back in the late sixties and seventies.  All those anti-establishment hippies that are now CEO's and Senators.

Is Bitcoin anonymous?

Bitcoin is designed to allow its users to send and receive payments with an acceptable level of privacy as well as any other form of money. However, Bitcoin is not anonymous and cannot offer the same level of privacy as cash. The use of Bitcoin leaves extensive public records. Various mechanisms exist to protect users' privacy, and more are in development. However, there is still work to be done before these features are used correctly by most Bitcoin users.

Some concerns have been raised that private transactions could be used for illegal purposes with Bitcoin. However, it is worth noting that Bitcoin will undoubtedly be subjected to similar regulations that are already in place inside existing financial systems. Bitcoin cannot be more anonymous than cash and it is not likely to prevent criminal investigations from being conducted. Additionally, Bitcoin is also designed to prevent a large range of financial crimes.

Do you think Darkcoin is going to be immune from the same regulations?

Hello, Guys, I received some donations for the work we have been doing for the new wallet GUI, I just wanted to say thank you very much I really appreciate the support. Thus, I have decided to pay it forward and send the donations I received to the development donations wallet. Can someone please post the development donations address I couldn't find it in the OP and thought it would be easier to ask?

Looking good here - can use DS+ inputs (the other options work too), getting up to 7 rounds of darksend rounds showing in coin control, and the darksend status thingy isn't hanging around anymore, it whizzes through the process almost faster than my crappy eyes can see it.

Cand manually denominate any more but I don't seem to need to, the automatic process is happening pretty swiftly.

Good stuff!

I can't remember where I read this but I think Evan said that it's possible to prune the blockchain by some methodology - has this been talked afterwards at all?
