DRK's favourite hedge - Ducknote - behaving perfectly. DRK down 28%, Ducknote up 300%. Plunge protection... Investment perfection Random person trying to start a conversation with me: "What's up?" Me: "A duck's ass when it eats." Random person trying to start a conversation with me: "Huh? What did you say?" Me: [already gone]

This is why darkcoin needs to promote to occupy that space in people's minds. You can't do that ATM.

Not here please. Cryptonotes are pointless once drk works. And it works. Remember Btc api compatibility? That may be, but it's still an interesting project with a humble following that deserves attention. The DRK thread is a good place to draw such attention because it is read by a lot of people who are interested in privacy blockchain technologies. No, you're pumping a coin u have invested in. The cryptonote tech is obsolete afai'm concerned.

Once we go open source, any updates, keep closed source for a week or two. That will screw the clones This implies reason for closed source is not to protect people but to preserve drk value. But if drk is not open sourced, real adoption will be mega slow. Not many markets (maybe none) will want to use a closed source anon solution. Can't see why rc4 shouldn't be opened up tbh. It's working fine with very tiny bugs. The Federal Reserve is 100% closed Source and we even know that it's destroying the value with inflation, but find a place that has 'refused to adopt' it... There aren't many...

There is a very small window to gain real adoption between now and when dark wallet is released at year end. I suggest the opportunity should not be missed.
Darkwallet? Really? A mixer no different/better from blockchain.info and bitcoinfog? I'm starting to wonder if you've been bitten by a troll and become one yourself... Zombies... I see the point you're trying to make, but it seems your doing the opposite of helping... Darkwallet is smoke and mirrors. A false sense of security.

Yeah I got the email, the Windows only nature of it alone gave it away, Evan's a linux guy...
Worrying that someone got our email addresses from darkcointalk (I presume?) though. Security review in order...
Unless the email says "Sent-by: Darkcointalk.org" and "Signed-by: Darkcointalk.org" it is not genuine. I'm currently looking into everyone who has said they've received an email. Thelonecrouton, you've publicly posted your email on the forum. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/meta-developers-needed-building-the-infrastructure-to-allow-for-mass-darkcoin-adoption.1946/#post-14873Another user who reports it has used the same username as on BitcoinTalk with his email visible. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=139141Eltito is the only one I'm having trouble with finding his email. (though I've found out his real name and youtube channel) good music btw... It's odd that whomever sent it wasn't able to match his username considering that is the only thing publicly available. I'm taking this very seriously and will absolutely make sure that no information has been leaked/compromised from my end. TLDR; I'm not convinced that anyone has gained database access. Looking into it. Also if someone did gain access to the server, there would be no need to send a fake email since they would be able to send real ones that are signed. Out of the known majority of people who've reported it, I've been able to find their email publicly.

darkwallet lol His point is valid. Darkwallet is a joke. But who knows it? People will fall for it jsut like they threw money into MtGox for a year beyond the point where it was obvious that something shady was afoot... Stupid people. They run the world. You can't stop them. You can't educate them.

I think he has a point. I've made a similar point a few thousand pages back, somewhere (hence I think he has a point). Evan has been doing his bit, by the bucket loads - so now its for us to get organised and start getting this thing moving. We don't want distractions of DarkWallet or Zerocash, even if more options gives rise to greater discussion. We do need to start owning this eCash space.
