I'm pretty new to DRK.  Do you guys think the big dumper is the old developer?  InternetApe?  Has this been confirmed at all?
Ape dumped 160k at $0.2
If you don't mind me asking, why do you need a new account to post here? Is the previous one connected to your real identity?

Not my real identity, no.  Just want to keep my DRK and BTC accounts separate.

That's a fair call, I've got this account and a trolling account when it's time to blow off steam...

yr trolling account wouldnt happen to start with a t and ends with a 2 and is real short .. would it ?  Grin

Haha very clever!

Charts hinting at some fun & action about to take place  Grin

crypto charts lie. i don't mind some action though

What odds do people have that its coinzcoinzcoinz buying back after discovering SDC was not all that it was cracked up to be?

(sorry for my english, I'm still learning so I can get a job in a call centre)

I've been camping for the last week or so and I've missed a bit, did Coinz^3 sell up for SDC?

I noticed briefly that we got into the 57s whilst I was away... Was that him?

Not bad if the DRK market recovers after a few days from a good dump like that...

It had 3 dumps like that. Went down to .0051 for a sec and shooted back up to 60s in a matterbof minutes. 60K dumped and 20k bought up in one shot past week and did not even ding the DRK. If this happened to any other coin, it was already dead.

Really wonderful to see...

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

I missed something, please link me to where this joke started?Huh  Still making me laugh!

And when did coinz X3 leave us?  And what is SDC?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg9914492#msg9914492

You can read the next 2-3 pages after his announcement... for the hilarity

What would be the best thing to say ?
"Yeah dump it, take some profit with SDC and come back for cheaper darkcoins. You can do the same with the next pumped coin !" lol

Good luck mate, still cant quite understand dumping DRK to pump a shit coin, but all the best with that Cheesy
hoping you multiplicate you stash and come back to drk again ;p

This sort of stuff makes me wish the opposite. Hopefully SDC loses a fuck ton and DRK appreciates so much in value that he's left with a fraction of his initial position when he decides to get back in. Manipulation at its finest.

LoL, post of the week!

<snip>

Might be gmaxwell.  Cheesy

There are likely a number of BTC zealots to whom it is slowly becoming apparent that a heavily regulated, centralised, transactional slug is not what they originally signed up for.

Thanks. Grin

Might as well rename it Guvcoin at this point and be done with it.  Cheesy

If you create a new wallet.dat, encrypt it, back it up, getnewaddress and send funds to it, does the back up of the wallet.dat also have the new address? Does getnewaddress actually create a new address or just assign one? Is that what the keypool size is?

If you generated new address in a wallet, the backup of the wallet will not contain the new address unless it was backed up after the new address was generated.

Hi Evan and community.

As far as i have been watching, the support displayed for Evan has been amazing to witness. It is unlike any other. You brought to us the DGW, X11 and a coin that started the wave of anonymous coins that is still unfolding today. I hope to see your work continue through in 2015 as I have been from the beginning.

That's fantastic! What a great time for your post, right after we comment on what an awesome job they are doing, even during the holidays!

Thanks for posting this!

Still two days to go, but I can't think of a more deserving person.

Agreed! FWIW, I just posted the following on the voting site:

My vote goes to Evan Duffield. His intellect and skill as a developer are evident to all who recognize that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. His influence on crypto-coin development is rivaled only by Satoshi Nakamoto. More than intellect and skill, he has a drive and dedication that is evidenced by his work ethic over this holiday season; consider--https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commits/v0.11.0.x

More than any of these things, Evan Duffield has my vote due to his ability to rise above the fray of crass, self-serving, grasping promoters/developers of other coins whose primary objective apparently is financial gain, no matter what the cost. His humble and non-confrontational disposition is clearly seen in his willingness to engage in polite conversation, and invite positive input, from trolls spewing invective and claiming to have found major flaws in his work. While I am certain my young children have no interest in anything Evan has written, they could certainly read any of his posts without offense. In today's world there is a great difference in being intelligent, effective, and good. Evan has my vote because as far as I can see, he is all three.

That said, it grieves me to note that my vote will probably not be counted. I was attracted to BCT due to my need for privacy in the work that I do. I am not in a position to use anything but this account to make my choice known. I consider it something of an affront to logic that a site supposedly dedicated to privacy, and voting for heroes who help make it possible, have chosen to limit voting to media, such as Facebook and Twitter, that true lovers of privacy eschew. None the less, my appreciation for Evan Duffield, compels me to post this.

Peace to you all...

Strix

There should probably be a warning after you generate a new addy that you should also save a new backup. And after you import a privkey.

That is not my understanding. getnewaddress rpc command will get an address from the keypool first, unless it ran out; and add it to the addressbook as a 'receive' purpose address book entry. So the backup wallet.dat would have the new address.
