-The rewards paid to Provisioners are inversely proportional to their staked amount (i.e. bigger stakes get proportionally rewarded lesser, in respect to smaller stakes) and are earned regardless of Provisioners' participation in the VVN operations. This measure is not a viable option outside of the Dusk Blockchain, where the probability to win the sortition lottery and therefore take an active part to the SBA⋆ algorithm is not associated with a reward, except the sole payment of the transaction fees.

Then it makes sense for a large wallet to split a large amount into many small wallets? Or is the number of Provisioners limited? Although about this I no information not saw.

That is a Sybil attack and Sybil resistance is in fact covered in the whitepaper.

Splitting your wallet into many small wallets decreases your chance of winning a ballot. A big wallet has a higher chance of winning a ballot, but at the same time the reward decreases proportionally to the size of your stake.

Aren't the Provisioners randomly selected in each round? If the chance increases depending on the number of coins in the wallet, it is not a random choice. Isn't it?
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

DUSK networks are noted for their fast, anonymous, and secure data transfer. But I want to find out how you can be widely accepted around the world when the project focuses on privacy?

Would like to ad a question to ad: how you can be widely accepted around the world when the project focuses on legal STO's?

Why not..? Do you think this is the first team that is doing this.?

Privacy should have been the key element in crypto projects but these days because of the regulations its getting worse.

Since it's all so nascent, there are no projects that have a stamp of legal approval from their respective country, let alone several countries

Just heard about SharkPool - "will be using hash power to kill all Altcoins" , will this affect DUSK Network significantly?

SharkPool will not have any effect on Dusk Network for a following reasons;

-Dusk Network does not utilize PoW

-The rewards paid to Provisioners are inversely proportional to their staked amount (i.e. bigger stakes get proportionally rewarded lesser, in respect to smaller stakes) and are earned regardless of Provisioners' participation in the VVN operations. This measure is not a viable option outside of the Dusk Blockchain, where the probability to win the sortition lottery and therefore take an active part to the SBA⋆ algorithm is not associated with a reward, except the sole payment of the transaction fees.

Then why not split your stake in several pools to earn more rewards as a whale?

Compared to other concept of PoS is fair, but isn't the idea behind PoS to give a reward to who has more interest in everything working smoothly, so the one with a bigger stake? In this case if the reward is not adequate it can dissuade from staking.

SBA⋆ foresees a few different types of actors in the network to reach consensus:

  • Network nodes - transactional network clients. They compete with each other by locking an arbitrary amount for the generating and proposing of new blocks. Block generation is a computationally light task and therefore running a node does not require neither specialised equipment nor storage. The intention is for normal mobile devices to be able to run as a node within the network. The non-deterministic nature of the bidding process makes it so that even nodes bidding the minimum amount of DUSK have a fair chance to win the block generation sortition lottery
  • Provisioners - These are nodes that have committed a certain minimum stake to the Dusk Network and take care of more network intensive tasks such as block verification, voting, and notarization (VVN operations). These types of nodes are non-transactional

The intention is to create an economy where nodes compete for block rewards, while Provisioners earn a steady ROI.

Thank you for that clarification. I guess DUSK stakeholders will have peace of mind knowing that the network is not vulnerable to that kind scheme. Smiley

so if i understand correctly there will be 2 different, consecutive tokens, a temporary erc20 token distributed to the exchanges in December and then a swap to the final token, if you work with companies/exchanges that register their users in my opinion anonymity it fails...

As far as I know, ERC20 token was for Ethfinex only. Is there any announcement about distributing it to other exchanges also?

I am not sure about how Dusk Network will do it but most projects have their blockchain, first distribute erc20 tokens and then swap them.

Easier solution for both party.

since it's a standard ERC20 token, you can bet it will be listed on forkdelta and all decentralized exchanges.

i really think so, dusk will create its own blockchain with its own token/coin and i think therefore it will be immune from any attempt of external attacks...

Can anyone be a provisioner if you have committed to hodl the minimum stake, or do you have to be voted to be one like in dpos?

Yes anyone can, unlike DPOS.

Is there a Dusk-related security partnership, or is it something own to implement? How would Dusk be prepared in any attempts to attack your network?

Looks like Dusk is getting more excepted since they announced some of their private investors. Great too see people believe in privacy and security on the internet in this age where everyone is vulnerable.

I only saw the announcement about Maven 11. Did they in the meantime reveal other private investors?

Crypto's main advantage is Privacy but these days because of the regulations and government bans, projects have started asking KYC etc. Its always good to have private investors as they can be trustable and we can openly keep an eye on funds.

big investors can really carry a project but there should be a balance so that they don't control it.

It's more like DPoS meet Maternodes as far as I understood, you can find s brief description of the two types of Dusk's nodes a couple posts above your
