Pool has been fixed to support all Reaper versions.

Latest Reaper 13 beta 4 is sending requests which are being rejected by pool with info: Error 400 Bad request (invalid header)
Those requests have got multiple User-agent headers. This behavior is is not compliant with W3C and server automatically rejected them. I had to find workaround.

Bottom line is you can mine litecoins using latest Reaper now.

How did you end up fixing that?  A patch to pushpoold?  I don't suppose you'd be willing to share?  

I don't use pushpoold. I have written my own pool engine.
It was a configuration change (registry key). Funny thing is, there was only one working solution among hundreds of pages returned by gooogle ( or I'm extremely clumsy using google )
I had to add such registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HTTP\Parameters DWORD AllowMultipleUseragentHeaders 1
+ server restart

Today we amended our Profitability matrix.

We added new entries, showing figures for LTC vs BTC profitability on Nvidia and Ati(AMD) GPUs. Those values are calculated using following hashrates:

Nvidia GTX560Ti:  BTC = 75 MH/s, LTC = 75 KH/s
Ati(AMD) 5850:     BTC = 285 MH/s, LTC = 400KH/s

I took average hashrates from:

On Nvidia cards LTC mining seems to be ca 1.7 times more profitable than BTC.

I got some strange behavior, mining was running fine until suddenly I was getting lesser shares as if the pool difficulty was rising, but the hashrate on the miner was reported fine, what was arriving at the pool was not. Down from 200kh  to 6 kh to 3kh.

yes it remained after restarting the miner. I am using the cgminer beta.

seems still there, or worse seems to be almost like solo mining now shares seem very slow.

I will investigate it. It might be related to cgminer beta. Maybe it doesn't properly support getworks with higher difficulty.

FYI.

Currently Coinotron uses shares with difficulty x20 higher than base difficulty.
This greatly reduces network traffic and CPU load on server.

There is one downside of this. Because there is a lot less shares submitted, hashrate reported by the pool has much higher variance than using lower share difficulties. Currently pool uses 10 min period to calc workers hashrate. I will change this to 30 min.

trying out coinotron, I am also experiencing a wierd issue in number of shares being found.

2 miners on coinotron

the 1st I found 27/29 shares in 20 minutes, in the same 20 minutes the 2nd miner found 21/23. At the speed the 1st miner mines at I found about 240 in a 10 minute period using a different pool. The 2nd miner about 170 shares in 10 minutes on a different pool. Ratio of stales/rejected shares is also a considerable difference

FYI.

Currently Coinotron uses shares with difficulty x20 higher than base difficulty.
This greatly reduces network traffic and CPU load on server.

There is one downside of this. Because there is a lot less shares submitted, hashrate reported by the pool has much higher variance than using lower share difficulties. Currently pool uses 10 min period to calc workers hashrate. I will change this to 30 min.

Another downside I see is at times I seem to be getting just as many "longpoll detected new block" messages as I am getting accepted shares. This in turn contributes to a very low accepted shares percentage of just 93%-94%

In a 3hr period I count 93 longpolls and 186/197 accepted shares at 94.4%

trying out coinotron, I am also experiencing a wierd issue in number of shares being found.

2 miners on coinotron

the 1st I found 27/29 shares in 20 minutes, in the same 20 minutes the 2nd miner found 21/23. At the speed the 1st miner mines at I found about 240 in a 10 minute period using a different pool. The 2nd miner about 170 shares in 10 minutes on a different pool. Ratio of stales/rejected shares is also a considerable difference


Another downside I see is at times I seem to be getting just as many "longpoll detected new block" messages as I am getting accepted shares. This in turn contributes to a very low accepted shares percentage of just 93%-94%

In a 3hr period I count 93 longpolls and 186/197 accepted shares at 94.4%

Currently pool-x uses share target: ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff0000
and Coinotron: 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000c0cc0c0000
Coinotron's target is 20 times smaller, thus using the same hardware you will need to submit 20 times less shares to coinotron than to pool-x.

We had to change shares difficulty in order to be able to process work delivered by constantly increasing number of miners.
Majority of them uses GPUs and reaper. Their hashing power is 10-30 times CPU hashing power. They are 10 times less affected by issues you are describing. We have very difficult task to 100% satisfy needs of both groups of mines (CPU and GPU) and maintaining reasonable server costs.

There are also pros of using Coinotron. Currently Coinotron's hashratre is ca 60MH. It is about 25% of total LTC. But we are solving 33% of blocks. It is hard to say why, but it is true.
