have u any thoughts on making ur BTC mining also running the merged mining patch and mining DEV and NMC in particular for no loss of hashrate on the BTC network? also IXC can be added as merged mined.. I'd love to see u get that up and running as u not based in the US right?? and so far only Bitparking offers such a service.  If u were able to offer this I would def point my ASIC at ur pool once it arrives, otherwise I will probably be inclined to point at Bitparking as i'm keen to support the DEVcoin and I have a vested interest in Namecoin as I am looking to see what I can do and how viable .bit URLs are.

One thing at a time i know as u just got stratum linked up, but don't think the merged mining is that hard... but might be heavy on resources idk... but i'm sure the guy at bitparking would be happy to give u some info etc

Probably MM isn't very hard to implement. But it certainly introduces a lot of additional things to maintain. I already have got quite a lot of maintenance work to perform ( 5 blockchains, 5 wallets, 5 daemons ). Adding DEV, NMC, IXC will be simply too much.

All bugs seem to be fixed.
Today we are running second part of beta tests. Please point your miners to coinotron.com:3333
Just log on to Coinotron website and create TRC worker ( if you don't have one), then use it in one of following miners:

cgminer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0 or
poclbm https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1334.0 or
guiminer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3878.0

Example:
cgminer -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3333 -u workername -p password

I will announce end of tests here on forum.
Upon betatests completion each participant will be credited with additional 25% of mining reward.

List of testers with number of shares submitted (as of 2013-01-27 11:00 UTC)

"Pool 1 is hiding block contents from us" = Stratum working!  Grin

Hmm, to be honest the message itself is quite obscure, but I like your interpretation Wink

Beta tests of stratum mining have run to completion.
From now on you can use Stratum TRC pool as regular pool !

I would like to thank to all beta test miners. As I said before they will receive 25% bonus.

Considering 2 minutes TRC blocks it is quite good.  But, actually your miner has one of the worst stales ratio.
For example crazy_rabbit had 5/3000 ratio, scrybe 1/800.
I looked into log and found several cases when pool has detected new block, sent new work to all and 1-3 sec later your miner submitted share for previous block. They all are counted as stales. Are you using some kind of proxy?

Its what I get for living on a boat and having a dongle for internet connection, most likely the cause!! but ty for the comparison.. something i am a little concerned about when i have 60Ghashs running here in a month or 2 Cool but not a lot i can do otherwise....

FYI

Stratum TRC server works perfectly. Here are some stats:

40% of TRC pool hashrate comes from Stratum miners.
0.2% - average efficiency in Stratum ! ( lowest 0.05% - 5 stales in 10000 shares, highest 0.9 % )
1.2% - average efficiency in getwork based TRC pool

So I'm starting to work on Stratum support in LTC pool  Smiley

@coinotron - Just as a point of interest I have left my mining rig pointed at Bitparking for the last few days and my stats on their stratum pool for BTC merged mining is

Accepted: 17300 Rejected: 317

so much better stale rate from their pool.... which is a shame as I love ur site .... but maybe that because TRC is much faster block rate as opposed to BTC.... If you are looking to implement Stratum on ur BTC pool then I'll point my miner there and see what accepted:stale rate I get.... but just thought u should know

My stats say that on average TRC blocks come at 4 times higher rate than BTC ones. That is probably the reason.
BTC Stratum will be available at Coinotron very soon.
BTW. You could test your miners on our current getwork pool. ATM stale rate is ca 0.5 % - because of small number of miners.

Dear TRC miners,
I'm planning to move TRC Stratum pool to port 3335. Please switch your miners to port 3335 ASAP.

Currently you can use ports 3333 and 3335. Pool on port 3333 will be available until 2013-01-31 12:00:00 UTC.

wouldn't it be easier to simply make an automatic change to stratum like slush, bitminter, and everyone else ? any one with stratum capable miner would go to stratum regardles of configuration and port setting. better for miners, better for pool, no problems with bad port.

as 2 bugs were found moving TRC to stratum... and not everyone having the latest mining software installed on their PC to do stratum mining I thank coinotron for running stratum alongside the normal mining.  Also it allowed a testing environment that people could chose to adopt into and get a little extra reward for helping test... so coinotron gets big thumbs up from me for doing it this way.

Our main goal is to make transition as safe as possible. Also you must remember that all mentioned pools support only BTC while we have to support 5 currencies. So under the hood things are little more complicated here.
