Just a question about the way you are paying. Are you paying out all mined NMC or just part that represents users of PPLNS that have NMC address?

Currently all mined NMC is being credited, but part of it is being absorbed into the "dummy account" used to keep track of PPS shares on each shift.  I'm working on a way to fix this so that the NMC currently going to the non-existant account is redistributed among actual user accounts.  Once I'm sure it's working I'll be recalculating the NMC rewards (it will only go up) for the already credited shifts.
OK so moving my miners hire is a good idea at the moment... Can you just answer the second part. All PPLNS users get them or only the ones with NMC address?

All PPLNS users get them.  That may change in the future, but for now it's allocated to every user so they don't lose out the bonus earnings if they haven't yet set an NMC address (since it was not possible to earn NMC on Stratum for over 6 months).

On a non pool related note:  Any users who are fans of MMORPG genre games may be happy to know that RIFT has gone free to play this week.  RIFT has been one of the higher tier fantasy-themed MMORPGs in my opinion, and I've decided to hang out on it once in a while.

If you play the game or are interested, send a message to Eleuthria on Shatterbone, I've decided to form a guild on there (BTC Guild).

What are namecoins worth these days?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

Seems like for the last 12+ hours I've been failover'd onto another pool.

Apparently stratum.btcguild.com:3333 isn't accepting connections any more? Is this DOS related?

None of the servers are experiencing any issues at the moment.  Each server has 3000-4500 active miners as of this post, and there has been no downtime in quite a while (except for restarting the code for merged mining).  The issue is definitely local, so my best suggestion right now is try eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 or restarting your miners.

I just manually switched back and it seems to be holding. I guess something odd happened during the switchover and cgminer got stuck on my backup pool. Anyway, looks like I'm back now.

What are namecoins worth these days?

They're ~5.4% bonus at the moment, but difficulty will likely double in about 4 days, and then another 50-100% increase a week or so after that.  Price may go up or down depending on how ASICMINER handles the NMC they've started collecting, and also depending on how many Guild users withdraw their balances and run market order sells.  However, NMC has a history of somebody dumping 50-100 BTC into it whenever it becomes worthless, immediately pumping the price to extremely profitable levels [but nobody knows if it'll happen again next time].

Can you estimate or guesstemate current PPS for NMC? I thought that would be easely calculateed but I have problems... Thanks.

EDIT: This is from news. "As of this morning, rewards for merged mining via Stratum are now awarded to all users." So everyone get them right now PPS too?

I switched because I was looking in extra NMC that will get me more the coins I lost...

Hello. I'm quite new to btcguild, and this thread is far too long already to read it all.

I noticed, that the payouts are made as a long chain of transactions, ...

EDIT: sorry for the noise...
what I saw was a chain of requested payouts, and obviously  the average frequency
of those is less than one per hour...  Obviously they need to be done individually, then.
The automatic ones already are handled as one would expect.

duh me ;-)

hello eleuthria

I could not find a DELETE account button. How do I delete my btcguild account if I wanted to.
Do not want to delete it now, but maybe in future when I switch to litecoin mining with my 7970's

Average payment per share for PPLNS is the same as for PPS:

Code:
(block reward / difficulty) * (1 - fee)

So, currently (assuming a 3% fee which I am not entirely sure of):

Code:
(50 / 3047194.60) * 0.97 = 0.00001591627919

Sorry for the confusion on the news post.  NMC is still PPLNS-only.

OK what about estimation of PPS?  I have problems calculating it. I assume it is about 0.0003. Am I in the ballpark?

Average NMC per share at neutral luck would be:

(1 / 3047194) * 50, less 3% fee = 0.00001591 per diff1 share.  It will be cut in half in a few days because difficulty will approximately double.

Yes this part is easy. But you are not giving all users NMC. So PPS gets none and PPLNS gets more. That is whay I am asking.

That is eventually going to happen.  Right now the distribution is simply based on the PPLNS history, which includes a dummy account for PPS.  I have not yet created a script to re-assign the dummy PPS user earnings.  So if you're wanting an estimate of what they will be once that's complete, tack on ~30% more: 0.00001591 * 1.3 = 0.00002068

API Temporarily Unavailable

The pool has been seeing a very large increase in the frequency of distributed brute force attacks on the login page.  Over time these attacks can cause the website to slow down.  Hundreds of IP bans have so far done virtually nothing, and the easiest way to stop them is Cloudflare's "I'm Under Attack" mode.  Unfortunately, this mode also kills most API polling applications due to requiring a browser verification before a user is passed on to the backend.

Whitelisting IPs will allow users to bypass the block, but very few users have static IP, and allowing too large of an IP range into the whitelist eliminates the purpose.

I'm working on an alternative right now to restore API functionality during times where the site is in this mode.  If you have developed an API polling program or use your own API polling script, please send me a message via the forums, or an email to webmaster@btcguild.com .

Not that API access is critical for me, but would whitelisting a Dynamic DNS work?  Just curious, not asking for it to be done.
