PS: When restoring orders after a restart, can you please add a simple "i am just restarting, put everything in the same order like it was" button? Its 3 enters you have to hit for each market on each exchange.

yes i will works on that, not sure 100% for 4.8, but sure for 4.9.

Yep it`ll be great to have an ability to save preset of config and one button restore!

The new main feature of CAT 4.8 is the Template/Preset management : you'll be able to save a parameter configuration and then restore from a dropdown list in the Ping-Pong Algorithm Panel.
Code is 100% Complete, i was testing yesterday with good results  Wink

Great,
Sampey please add some sort of general settings that gets copied as a default on all markets on the same exchange.
Its pain in the butt setting hours the same things over and over on hundreds of markets.

Each market has some 10 settings or so, when for some reason the soft gets slow it takes 4-5 minutes to set one market.

PS: When restoring orders after a restart, can you please add a simple "i am just restarting, put everything in the same order like it was" button? Its 3 enters you have to hit for each market on each exchange.

Its 300 enters just for poloniex. Imagine yobit...

great suggestions

Hello,

I'm new here and I want to know ..

Huh
Where is written that you should create X Order at the same price than 1 Order with full amount?

I mean How I Win from this application? why people open many orders with this application and used it for this purpose ?

I mean How I Win from this application ?  Using it Shocked

by simply create an algorithm that try to reproduce your "human" logic, and then let it run 24h/day on the number of markets you wants. Bot is created to assist the trade in achieve something that is not possible by human : infinite loop of checkings/rule applications.

Hi CAT users, i will start improve tips & tricks sections starting from my private support messages inbox.

First improvements is :

- How Does a Ping-Pong Order Work?

In a Ping-Pong cycle there are some factors involved :
- The User who wants to create orders
- The automatic Ping-Pong Algorithm
- The Exchange Trading system that match buyers/sellers orders

A Ping is an order of Buy or Sell Type. In case of Dynamic Algoritm is free to move (automatic-recreation if needed) according to the ping-pong algorithm parameters (ex : price limits)
A Pong is an order of Sell or Buy Type (Opposite from the original Ping type). It is created by CAT after a Trade occurs over a Ping.
The difference between Ping and Pong is that Pong have 1 more attribute that restrict the possibility about price movements and order recreation : the Reference Price.
The reference price is the price of the Trade Occurs over the Ping.
The Pong price is calculated considering Ping Trade Price + % Gain Requested By The User + Current Market Price.
Calculated price must guaranteed at least the % Gain set by the user.

This is the workflow of a Ping Pong Order. Loop is INFINITE (but of course you can set stop conditions).
USER Can Anytime Add Orders or Edit The Buy/Sell Pool.

- Buy/Sell Pool (Automatic)/Ping-Pong Order Creation (User) -> Ping -> TRADE (Reference Price) -> Pong (At least % GAIN) -> GAIN -> TOTAL (Minus Fees) IN BUY/SELL POOL
and then loop restart

Explanation with Examples (for explation simplification without considering FEES and User Parameters) :

Buy/Sell Pool : Values are expressed as <PartnerCurrency>, partner is the currency wich you express the Price (or Total Value)
Example : on BTC/LTC, LTC is <MarketCurrency>, BTC is <PartnerCurrency>
Every Pool Lookup (that could occurs ever X lookups) CAT will try to use 100% of the Pool to create a new Order.
Buy Pool to create new Buy Orders
Sell Pool to create new Sell Orders
You can limit this behaviours setting Pool Limits about Qty and Pool Activations conditions.

A simple example (without considering limits and user parameters) :
Sell Pool 0.3 BTC, Best Market Sell Price is 0.00013 -> 0.3/0.00013 = 2307 new QTY -> New Sell Order will be Sell 2307@0.00013
BUY Pool 0.01 BTC, Best Market Buy Price is 0.00012 -> 0.01/0.00012 = 83 new QTY -> New Buy Order will be Sell 2307@0.00012

Now a Trade Occurs over your Order Sell 2307@0.00013
Let's say it's a partial trade : Sell 1500@0.00013
We consider a Gain of 5%
So, REFERENCE PRICE Is 0.00013 -> 0.00013 - 5% (In case of Sell Pong it will be REFERENCE PRICE + % GAIN) = 0,0001365 New Pong Price
So New Order Pong will be Sell 1500@0.0001365

When a Trade Will Occurs Over the Pong You will have a GAIN expressed by CAT as
- % (percentage difference between price)
and
<PartnerCurrency> (Total Orders Difference - (Buy + Sell Fees))

The TOTAL Value (Qty x Price) could be reuse (100% or Part of it) into the Buy/Sell Pool to create new PING ORDERS.

In a Ping-Pong Cycle, each order will have his indipendent "life"
Partial trades will generate more ping and more gains.

Example :

Ping Sell 1000@X
Trade 1 Sell 500@X -> PONG T1 Buy 505@Y
Trade 2 Sell 300@X -> PONG T2 Buy 303@Y
Trade 3 Sell 200@X -> PONG T3 Buy 202@Y

PONG T1 Buy 505@Y
Trade 1 Buy 200@Y -> 1 LINE OF GAIN in Gains Table
Trade 2 Buy 305@Y -> 1 LINE OF GAIN in Gains Table.

In this example, from 1 PING, 3 PONGS Are generated, and from 1 PONG 2 GAINS are generated.
Usually this happens when you have very BIG Ping Orders.

CAT will proportionally Calculate PING Fees According to Final Pong Trades.
On Final Pong Trade "Trade 1 Buy 200@Y" CAT will calculate the % Percentage of the original  Ping "Trade 1 Sell 500@X" Fees.
Example :
Ping Buy 100@X -> Total Fees is 0.01
If a Final Pong will be Buy 10@X (that is 10% Qry of the original Buy) Total Fees From Ping will be 0.001 (10% of 0.01)

Its not that much for an initial investment to get you up and running and while you gain expertise with CAT you can just start out with free coins from Yobit and mining on your pc. Once you build trust in CAT working the way it does you can then invest more real money and then trade multiple markets at the same time to quickly recover your initial investment.

Once you see the accumulative profits being made from each market you'll be tempted to jump straight in with your home  Wink

Added Ping-Pong schema to Tips & Tricks Section

PING-PONG Schema

This is the Infinite Ping-Pong cycle. This is a simplified view, but it's useful to understand how flow work.
User can update/change elements but the most important actions are :
- Add a Ping Using the GUI Interface
- Update the buy/Sell Pool Values.
Ping Pong parameters works over the Ping-Pong workflow :
Example :
- Price limit works on Ping (by default, but you can also add a Limit on Ping)
- Stop Loss rules works on Pong
- Reuse Rules works on Trades From Pong
- Merge rules works on Ping/Pong/Trades From Ping
When you have a clear idea about ping-pong cycle it will be easier to understand WHERE you need to set your parameters to optimize your ping-pong algorithm

I'm sorry but Bitmex Seems very different from "classic" exchanges.
I need to drop API development after some try on the bitmex test exchange : too much code needed to adequate CAT interface  Undecided

Thanks, will try to play with that when I get some time.

Any idea why adding trades and basically all manipulation on CAT gets slower by some 2-3 hours of working on that?
I am on the machine via teamviewer, but other stuff works fast.

Consuming some 200MB ram on 8GB ram machine. Java 8, update 121 (build 1.8.0_121-b13).

Because the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) takes part of available RAM.
The fact that you have 8GB Ram is not related to the fact (for example) that JVM Allocates max 512 MB Ram.

You can use the JVM Options via BAT File (if you are running on Windows)
http://alvinalexander.com/blog/post/java/java-xmx-xms-memory-heap-size-control
and
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28272923/default-xmxsize-in-java-8 (for default)

Do you have auto-backup active?
If yes get the last version and reload in a new CAT copy.
I will take a look at this error.
Are you using 4.7 right?

Interesting thing happened today.

STORJ went up some 50%, from some 11000 to some 18000.

I have bought twice, at 13500 and 15201 some days ago (using CAT). Now those trades are completed, sold with 20% profit at 16200 and 18241. Great.

Yes, I know there is many zombies - I lost patience doing the same things over and over so I havent sent them all last time after restart. I also still the "lookups", but I just cant try to solve each and every problem, I thought an automated bot will save my time.

Here are the price settings:

So, I finally got thru a manual ping pong cycle to finally benefit from the automated trades.

Since I rather manually control what CAT does as CAT fucked up my portfolio already (to avoid questions, here are the reasons: zombies, restarts, have to find a lot of time to do manual settings over and over, analyze the markets again, some trading functions active after first ping pong completed, etc.)

Anyway, this is what Poloniex gave me:

Why the hell CAT bought ABOVE my sell price damn it? And what the hell is the second buy?

Crypto has been my part time since 2013 and full time job a year now.

Its time for me to move to a new level. Anyone interested?
I AM SERIOUSLY LOOKING FOR AN AMBITIOUS and PROACTIVE PROGRAMMER INTERESTED IN CRYPTO (trading and mining) TO TEAM UP WITH on projects that will not go public.

These are probably 2 different ping-pong cycle.
You need to check the market log and find the poloniex trades.

About zombie status : you're trading on a lot of markets at the same time.
Do you know that poloniex have a 6 call limits/seconds? I don't know if you properly set corret lookup limits/options but i think there's a very high change to get a bad api response from Poloniex.

In the next CAT version i've improved a lot the http layer so i think CAT will be able to manage extreme conditions. But actually with 4.7 take care of the number of API calls.

Yep,
I do trade many markets, thats why I wanted a bot Smiley
As for the 6 api calls, I use 99 seconds lookup for each market.
As for the portfolio issues - I briefly stated the reasons in brackets in the same post. Its just too much time consuming. And, I apologize for bad language.
