The game has been called off Wasted the time checking for updates. Should have sticked to the SA vs ENG test match, missed the wicket balls while checking for the updates. LOL.. what do you expect after scheduling the match at Guwahati, which happens to be one of the wettest places in India. It was known that rains do occur at this time in Northeast India. And at the same time, I am quite surprised that despite being the richest sports body in the world, the BCCI don't have any plans to construct a stadium with retractable roof. They have millions of USD for wasteful administrative expenses but they are always miserly when it comes to the construction of infrastructural facilities. There was some talk about that ground staff didn't covered the pitch carefully " leaking covers" lol. but i agree BCCI need to think about it overall and i guess they are working on it some levels. what's the use of money if you can't even use updated drainage system (Chinnaswamy ground & Eden Garden) in all international ground. all they need to do is spend 30-50 millions and 90-95% grounds are covered.

Today we have a 2nd T20 match between in india vs SriLanka at indore, as per forecast reporting that there is no rain possible today. And we can expect high scoring match today maybe 180+ I think so today who will bat first they have more chances to win the match, because of there has been heavy dew cover on the outfield for the last couple of days as per report said.

If dew is the case then chasing is always the best option as the outfield will be wet and the fielders will be having a hard time catching the ball and the bowlers especially spinners will be struggling to grip the ball and hence if dew is the case any team that wins toss will put the opposition to bat first and then chasing the score will be the smartest move in this situation.

With climate change impact being felt more often, the cricket boards seriously need to think about the solution. Countries such as Australia, Afghanistan and UAE don't need to worry much, as most of the area is desert and there is very little rainfall. But this is a serious issue for countries such as India, Bangladesh, West Indies and New Zealand. Normally matches are scheduled during the non-Monsoon months in India. But as a result of climate change, now we are getting rains during non-Monsoon months as well. As I had pointed out earlier, there is only one solution that works 100%. That is to build a stadium with retractable roofing.

As I had pointed out earlier, there is only one solution that works 100%. That is to build a stadium with retractable roofing.
Dew, wind, sunshine are some of the key elements that play a vital roll in a cricket match. Without wind and moisture pitch ball will not swing, bowling will be like throwing it in a flat cement pitch. In a day-night match we see how vital the dew factor is. Let's not mention the needs of sunlight of course. With a retractable roofing won't we miss wind, dew? May be in the future we will see ICC will come up with some wired ideas or such but if the bowlers lose all their weapons then we will see in a ODI match, the team who are batting first is giving 550 to 600 runs target and the opponent team is chasing down the run successfully. In a T20 match first batting team is giving 400+ runs target and the chasing team is chasing it successfully. Will that be cricket anymore? The bowling unit for the teams will turn out to be a joke and let's say the teams will decide to play the match with 10 batsmen and a bowling matching which will be replaced by the last man of the team. It will not look good :-D

Today 2nd T20 between India vs SL will happen as their is no forecast of rain and weather looks good for the match to happen. Now both the matches remaining have suddenly became more vital for both the teams to win either to win the series win both or to draw win atleast one.

That is to build a stadium with retractable roofing. We discussed this many time here and i agree with @Royse pretty much that pitch need natural light and IMO Uv light can't replace sunlight for cricket grounds at-least in the next 2-3 decades, may be high quality of Drop-in pitch can do some magic for short format, not in Test though but i am optimistic in this regard. adding 2 more points. - For brand new grounds it could be a solution in some extent but for old grounds its not possible (foundation, construction etc), majority of grounds are old and some are 50+ years so not practical IMO.
- ICC or cricket board need huge amount of money to build retractable roof ground. Marvel Stadium in Melbourne is first and only cricket ground which has retractable roof, it cost them 460 million AUD and they use it for Rugby or few games of t-20 leauge. just to give you example this ground hosted few international matches of cricket.

Because it will be very difficult to bowlers and also fielding I am hope that if India wins toss they will choose Bowling first.

You are right,India won the toss and elected to bowl first.SL lost their first wicket for 38 and now they are currently passed 50 in the 7th over both seems pretty good at the moment. If Indian bowlers take two more wickets in quick session then they can control team SL to score any huge target later the dew will help India bot more and can get an easy win here.

Good and controlled start by team India. Loosing quick wickets by the srilankan team has put them into pressure. Intresting to see this young man Saini bowling very aggressively.

Yup... Saini was bowling at a good pace and he created problems for the South African batsmen. I was more concerned about Jasprit Bumrah, who is returning from an injury outage. He picked up one wicket, but looked out of form. Perhaps he need another couple of matches to get back to his peak form. Anyway... this match is going to be a cakewalk for team India. They should get there in less than 15 overs.

He got three wicket in one over. It is a one sided match now.

It was supposed to be a one sided match, and it is turning out to be one. So no surprises there. As I have pointed out many times, the gap between the big 3 teams and the other teams are widening. The gap has grown to such a level that the smaller teams are not even able to give meaningful fight against big teams such as India and Australia.

There is no fun in watching such one sided matches. I was watching the South Africa vs England test and switching back to Star Sports just to check the score from the T20 match. I was expecting a slightly better performance from Sri Lanka (still expecting them to lose), as they are better in the shorter formats. But they failed in every single department.

This Indian side has recently chased 200 plus scores successfully (against West Indies). A target of 143 was like child's play for them. On top of that, apart from Lasith Malinga the Sri Lankan side is missing good bowlers. India should have rested some of their star players such as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. It may not be a bad idea to give a few matches to players such as Sanju Samson.

I am also waiting to see players like Sanju Samson performing in international arena but his fate is to get picked in the team and keep on warming the bench series after series even when major players are rested. When India chased a total of 200 there was Rohit Sharma in the team and can take on any bowlers and if Sri Lanka makes a huge target like that then it will be a difficult task.

Is this the same situation when Usman Khawaja was not selected in the team even though he was performing really well in the domestic circuit and it took some time for the selectors wanted to pick him in the team even though there was a lot of criticism because of his non selection and eventually he was picked in the team and that will be the case of Smason too, if he is playing well and performing consistently he cannot be neglected for a long time.
