Australia has done a great job at keeping the corona virus under control so far however winter is coming soon which could cause the virus to spike but as the country is in lock down it should help steam the cases in winter. Why I say this is because it could be a good sign that the T20 world cup will go ahead as planned if Australia can keep the virus under control.

Dude, are you from Australia? I heard something crazy about that country and perhaps you can verify it. Somewhere I read that a 6-month lockdown was implemented in Australia? Any truth with this? And I checked the stats about the latest COVID 19 situation. Australia is not faring that well. Despite whatever lockdown they have, till date they have 6,500 cases, increasing at a rate of 40-50 per day.

Australia is much better when we compare it with the rest of the world. Only 6000+ cases for Australia means they they have implemented good lockdown and awareness among the people.  Still i think T20 world cup will not be  possible for them to host this year.

Most chances we are going to have this world cup in February 2021 because this year its not easy even situation is very good in Australia but not in England India and Pakistan so they need some good time for this all today's list showing numbers are increasing very quickly in subcontinent even lock down is very tight but still many peoples not following this all.

These number shows that Australia is in better shape compared to other countries. Now if we talk about hosting cricket then it does not matter. For an event like world cup players will go from around the world even if it is close door (hypothetical). In the current situation and the way it's moving towards worse, I do not think any country will take such risk. Any sorts of out door sporting events still out of mind.

Closed door World cup is not acceptable by many people including Allan Border. He says that it is much better to cancel the world cup rather than be played in empty stadiums. Border against closed-doors T20 World Cup. He is right in a way because WC is not only for the players, it is also for those who want to come to the stadium, cheer their teams and enjoy.

I too would not like to see a close door tournament especially when it is an event like WC which comes after two years interval. It's better to reschedule even if necessary then reschedule in 2021. There will be no fun to see 22 players and two umpire in the ground and the whole stadium is empty. We have seen it in PSL and it was not entertaining.

I don't even want to recall those last few matches of PSL which were played without the crowd. They were so much boring regardless of the fact the match score or match situation (do or die) was there but still it seems we were watching a domestic match with no crowd interest.

Well to me it felt like I am watching cricket in the local ground where two clubs is playing a practice match, the media are busy taking pictures and so on LOL

If anyone has time ( a lot of us should have time in these days ), then you can take this T20 quiz and share your score.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/29047919/how-much-trivia-do-know-t20-world-cups

Remember to take the quiz one time and no cheating.  I scored 4/10 only  Cool

Australia is much better when we compare it with the rest of the world. Only 6000+ cases for Australia means they they have implemented good lockdown and awareness among the people.  Still i think T20 world cup will not be  possible for them to host this year.

At least during the initial months, the Southern hemisphere was not much impacted by the pandemic. But now the situation is slowly changing. Some of the fastest growing outbreaks are in countries such as Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. The Australian government deserves a lot of credit for announcing the lockdown so early. That prevented a lot of deaths, although there was a lot of economic damage.

Most of the countries have two choices, either save the people or save the economy. Those who opted to save the people opted for lock down at early stages and they did the right thing. Those who waited and worried about their economy are now suffering from both the virus and economic issues.

We can't term the countries going behind economic uplifting didn't care about the pandemic virus attack. Most of the countries that experienced the pandemic virus didn't took it a big issue. Further slowly they've realised the reality of the virus and has gone for complete lockdown. When they went for lockdown things had gone out of control.

Yes I live in Australia and compared to the rest of the big countries in the world, Australia has done a great job at containing the spread of the virus. The country isn't in full lock down as most states are at stage 3 but stage 4 will be a full lock down except for super markets for food and pharmacies. To have just over 6,500 cases compared to most countries is good with a population of over 24 million, the cases have been going down as well and like I said winter is coming which could be a danger period. If Australia can keep it under control then we could see the T20 world cup go ahead on time or maybe delayed a month or two. The Australian summer starts in December so there is a lot of time to get the tournament started.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

The Australian government did an exceptional job and it is one of the handful of countries where the number of actives cases is going down. A month ago, they used to have 400 to 500 new cases per day, and this number has been reduce to 40 to 50 cases now. Those countries which refused to implement lockdown (such as Brazil and Sweden) are now paying dearly for it.

Few egoistic leaders have ruined their country and those who understood the situation went ahead and implemented lockdown for the betterment of their citizens.

You need to think out of the box in such situations. The root cause of all these problem is the red dragon which is still not helping the world against this virus.

What is retrolive? I just see cricinfo is covering an IPL match as Live but it is also mentioned like "RetroLive". Is it like rewinding an old match ball by ball? Are you people finding it is interesting? I am not sure what is the purposes of reviewing an old match ball by ball. Will the commentators write  something new for every ball for commentary or will do copy-paste from old things?

Is there any perspective from gambling point here? I mean retrolive opens any gambling possibilities also? I guess we cannot bet on old matches still not sure what are the modern innovations, lol  Grin. I mean honestly I did not expect cricinfo to do something like this with old matches.

Here is the coverage of currently retrolive match: https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/19832/commentary/1220949/royal-challengers-bangalore-vs-kolkata-knight-riders-1st-match-n-indian-premier-league-retrolive-2019-20

As we all living in lock down we have no chance of any gambling but still some can take enjoyment with what's happening on next ball as some time ago this was also very good thing in domestic matches many peoples sitting near boundary line doing this all was good and in these old matches this can happen.

Don't tell me that you expected Trump to think out of the box :-P
I hope better days are coming soon. We are in world war 3 with bio weapon.

When I saw it first time yesterday, I was confused thinking that it's really happening then vishnu or someone explained what exactly was going on. Of course, it's boring. Who is going to watch the scores in a website that is updating of an event that already happened.

However, imagine if the bookies were offering betting on these scores LOL

Now this is again a problem: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/news/covid-effect-icc-member-boards-running-serious-risk-of-financial-bankruptcy/articleshow/75207196.cms

Their investments are all stuck and all predict that this year there won't be any matches played. This business is so risky? No cricket for a year and they can go bankrupt?

Well at first the Prime Minister looked like he wasn't going to shut down and it was actually pressure from the state governments that basically forced the PM to enforce a lock down. I think by doing this early on it has saved most people here from contracting the virus but like I said Australia isn't out of this just yet with winter coming in the next month and a half. That's when we'll see if Australia has avoided the virus and hopefully we will see the T20 world cup played some time later this year or early next year.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Definitely not a good time for any industry other than pharma or the one's which are working currently. Rest everywhere it is going to have an adverse effect in the world. And more so for small people or board which dint had enough money would be suffering a lot and this articles covers about it. ICC would have to plan out and take care of such boards as well and get them back on the track.
