Yeah, in comparison of (USA, Italy,France) India doing good job considering she has billion people and overall healthcare system is a big disaster. Good thing is community spread seems controllable due to complete lock down so numbers are not going up, having said that its bit early to say and we have to wait 5-10 days more. Plus India is not doing enough tests. Authorities might want to ramp up with the testing in next few weeks for more clarity.
The testing must be ramped up to understand the real dept of the situation, a country with a billion population has tested just 128,320 people till now and that is not a great figure to understand the real situation, local community spread will be much higher and there are reported cases of virus in slums of Mumbai which is scary as the numbers will rise exponentially if that is not taken care. There is always someone to blame in every where including the place I live. Yeah, media are worse, governments do not care (possibly they do not have the resources) but if the citizens are aware and take this pandemic seriously then rest of the things are very easy. The lack of planning and foresight is a big issue, earlier the government said they are planning a one day lock down and there is nothing to worry and the next day they shut the entire country for 21 days, even if you go to grocery stores you cannot find essential goods as the shelves are empty. Considering the fact that virus in all countries are on rising mode other than China so does not seems that eradication could happen overnight .
You cannot trust the numbers coming out from China as the number of missing persons after the pandemic is on the rise, the families have no idea where they are and with the global community blaming them you cannot expect them to say the truth.

Regardless of other sporting event scheduled later this year I think it is better to cancel everything untill there is a cure found for this deadly virus. Why risk anyone's life for the sake of just entertainment?
Countries who have the best medical facilities are the one which are becoming crippled with this virus. The effect of this virus in third world countries would be devastating.
Cure may be at least 6 months (or more likely 12 months plus) away. The big question is whether the global economy can sustain a continued lockdown for almost an year. My prediction is that within 2-3 months, people will get used to it and would return to work (while maintaining social distancing norms). The same will happen with the sporting events as well. They may play their matches, without any spectators.

Well this could happen as Australia has done a great job up to this point to keep the corona virus under control however winter is coming in the next 2 months and for the best couple of years the flu has been pretty bad here. Hopefully we everyone in lock down it steams the flu as well as the virus and then we could see the T20 World Cup go ahead and like I said, the Australian summer goes right into March so there is a lot of time for this to be played.

The Aussies (board as well as the cricketers) are ready to host it; however, the real question is whether the other countries will be ready to play with so many conditions or not. PCB seems to be in favor of having the world cup this year and they're even going for an "online fitness test": PCB to conduct online fitness test of Pakistan cricketshttps://www.brecorder.com/2020/04/08/587614/pcb-to-conduct-online-fitness-test-of-pakistan-crickets/

It seems like we really might get to see the T20 world cup this year, without crowd! It seems like many players want this to happen.
Well at-least there will be some cricket but I think no one can say it for sure if it will happen in this year or not. We can not speculate in which direction the pandemic is going. Month ago they said in April everything will go back to normal etc etc but it seem we are in higher high in several countries and every day it's going worse than the previous day. Let's just hope that we improve soon and go back to normal. These days are really making everyone mentally stressed. The lack of planning and foresight is a big issue, earlier the government said they are planning a one day lock down and there is nothing to worry and the next day they shut the entire country for 21 days, even if you go to grocery stores you cannot find essential goods as the shelves are empty.
And it's still the same. No improvement yet.

He is having an IPL contract, which is worth $2.2 million. In case the IPL 2020 gets shifted to Q3/Q4 2020, and if the T20 world cup clashes with the tournament, then it would be interesting to see which one would be chosen by Cummins. My guess is that he'll opt for the World Cup. But I would say that it will be a historic blunder by him. The amount of money we are talking here, is huge. And Cummins may not get another opportunity like this in his career.

Furthermore if he opts to play in the IPL and not the World Cup then he’ll never be able forgive himself if Australia looses it, and he’ll also loose the respect of the Australian fans forever therefore I don’t expect him to choose playing in IPL over World Cup.

I don't think T20 world cup would be possible as even if one country hosts it or not, we have other countries like England, India that may backout. It's only if everything dies down by June that the match could be played without any audience but still precautions would be taken. It's likely not to happen. They postponed so many events till 2021 so this also may get postponed and it's better it does if the cases don't end.

^^ ICC, BCCI, CA are free to make their plans for World Cup and IPL but it shouldn't come at risk of Players, staff and spectators's health at any cost. No board or fans want any mishap at this stage.

In case if you guys missed this news. BCCI is planning to conduct this season IPL in the month of July without any spectators.
That's a stupid decision from BCCI. Within July, the pandemic will barely overcome. Players will be at risk of course as well as the associated people. That's not quite a few people only. BCCI must not have that rights to do so.

BCCI is desperate in conducting IPL thats what I understood after reading this article. I am sure they are being pressurized by Star TV as the loss on their part is pretty significant.

We are living in tech corporate world where every minute counts in USD so if Star TV is pressurzing BCCI officials its nothing new they can do this all as they all part of this tech system and have big pockets I am also feeling we all will be ok in end of June or first week of July.

There is no way we could see any sporting events in the next few months, the best solution is to extend these events indefinitely and when the situation calms down then it makes sense to schedule accordingly because as for now the Corona virus determines when everything returns to normal. The only event that i thought would take place was UFC and that too was scrapped because of safety reasons.

Not exactly July but by winter as well so that will be November, December. It may be possible that by then things will die down but that's only if we don't have T20 WC. July looks pretty impossible as of now. Am preparing to see virtual matches where each player plays cricket from his own house and they telecast it on TV

~snip And it's still the same. No improvement yet. The stores have the goods now but you need to stand in a long queue for over an hour to get into the store and there are restrictions on the amount of products we purchase, we can call that improvement than empty shelves . The situation is getting worse and there are talks that the lock down will be extended and during that period there is no cigarette or liquor and if you still need those you need to spend double the market price in the black market. That's a stupid decision from BCCI. Within July, the pandemic will barely overcome. Players will be at risk of course as well as the associated people. That's not quite a few people only. I highly doubt the government will allow any events to take place unless they could test every player and have a conclusive result and right now you cannot say that because one of my acquaintance tested negative in the first test and on the second test he is tested positive and now shifted to a hospital and under quarantine, so the testing procedure is not that straight forward. I am sure they are being pressurized by Star TV as the loss on their part is pretty significant.
The loss is not a major factor when you take into consideration the risk involved in carrying on with the event even with upmost precaution.

If this lock down is going to be extend then surely we are going to be watch more problems and these could create more deaths then Corona because in our society we have nothing like Europe or USA we are living in sub continent where corruption and black marketing is mostly one peak in days like these here in our country situation is also going to be worsen as we are in 20th day of lock down really feeling upset for many families around me in my local area.

Just read a news today about people who got cured from this deadly virus. They have been again found positive, there is no escape from it only social distancing is the answer.

If the BCCI stages the tournament in July (around three months from now), then it is going to be a historic blunder. China was able to contain the pandemic after 3 months of extremely strict lockdown. Here in India, we are currently on the 3rd week of national lockdown. I am not expecting the situation to improve before June-July. Even if the situation gets improved by then, a major event such as the IPL may once again nullify all those efforts.
