That's the game of cricket. Weather always is a barrier in literally every format of the game, but it especially is horrendous in tests. Australia got really lucky here for sure, but England got lucky in the past too.

I think Australia can easily overcome it. With just one wicket to go, England look unlikely to cross 400 as their best batsmen are already got out.

From here it's not even 50-50 chasing target of more than 350 is impossible no matter which track you are on. Also England bowling was pretty good in the first innings as well so i don't see any chance for Aussies in this match now. I belive best bet for Aussies might be to bat as slow and carefully as possible to make it closer to a draw.

Although Stuart Broad and James Anderson are known as bowlers, They can also perform good batting. Stuart Broad has a Test batting career high score of 169 to his name. On the other hand James Anderson has a good innings record of 81 runs. So expecting 10 to 15 runs from their partnership is not impossible. If they can be set on the pitch then the score will be more. Australia is a good team and in their favor it is not too difficult to score according to the target.

Chasing 377+ runs looks daunting in 4th inning but we still have full 2 days left in this match. A small shower could play into England's hand.

Ofc, England will have to search for 10 wickets but this could be tricky as well because when the opposition has more than enough time to bat, then anything is possible. A fair amount of teams had done this in the past on rank turners or spicy seam-bouncy wickets.

This wicket seems to have enough purchase for batters and looks like it's becoming easy to bat on, at least the scorecard pointing towards it.

Once again England have got an opportunity to win the match. We don't know how far this is gonna happen in favour of England, because they've been experiencing bad luck unable to win the match which is completely in their hands. Already 377 runs leading and we can expect this to reach a maximum of 400 runs as Anderson and Broad were on the crease. Very few chases have taken place crossing 400+ runs and with two complete days left Australia will try to win the match and win the series.

Of course England is in driven seat.
But England's score could have been a little bigger but we were very surprised by their T20 and ODI style of Test playing. Every England player has batted in ODI style only to set a big target. However, England's lower order batsmen did not achieve much success rather they got out very quickly and set England back from a big target.
Two lower-order batsmen, Stuart Broad and James Anderson, remain unbeaten for the fourth day but their unbeaten streak will not be very likely. In this case, Australia will get a chance to bat for two whole days. If Australia can continue their batting for two days then it will be easy for Australia to win this match. On the other hand, for England to win this match, Australia will have to go all out. However, the target of 377+ runs in front of Australia is by no means small but a challenging one.

The recent highest score chase happened in the year 2021 against Bangladesh by West Indies (395/7). In the chase a strong scoring should come from few players or the entire team should have their contribution. In such chase te top order should provide the right start and the middle order should accelerate and keep the score coming. However the weather conditions need to favour and with this chasing can be made easier, but this doesn't happen as the team will be with added pressure in the last innings.

Two days remain for the 5th and final Ashes test, which means that even if there is some rain interruption we should get a result. The only thing that may deny England a win is the fact that they don't have a quality full-time spinner. Joe Root have been fantastic with the ball so far in this series, but he never received any support from the other end (especially from Moeen Ali, who seems to be injured). Also, James Anderson has been in poor form. In this test also, he has picked up only one wicket, and that too at the cost of 67 runs.

Stuart Broad announced his retirement yesterday and this would be his last test match. Man, wouldn't he wish to win the last test for this team?
Remember he bowled 20 overs and took 2 wickets in the first innings when Australians were batting.

A fantastic day for England but slightly discolored by a late collapse. However, England remain a strong contenders and most likely to get victory. Anyway, Australia's defensive approach quite alarming, and a bit of disappointing. It will be interesting to see how they will play for the remaining two days of the test match. England just needs to maintain their concentration! Even if they manage a draw, they should still be proud. So good to watch last two days match.

England are playing well with both the bat and ball and truly deserve to win this finale. They got really unlucky in the last test thanks to rain since they could have won this series if they win this ongoing test.

Overall, another great Ashes which was almost perfect!

Had the fourth Test not been rained out, England would have won and the Tests would have been tied. The winner and loser of the fifth test was decided by the team that did better in batting and bowling.
But the way England is batting aggressively in ODI style, then it can be safely said that England is batting aggressively to defeat Australia. By the last update of England's second innings, England had scored 277 runs and managed to take a lead of 265 runs.

England saved many series in a similar fashion. I remember a few, in recent memory, it was against India in Nottingham (1st test-2021 India tour of England-). India needed just 150 runs and had 9 wickets in the bank and then it rained. The series ended with a 2-2 scoreline.

The point is it happens to everyone and we should just move on.

Even if England fail to win the series against Australia, they may be able to save themselves from losing this series. Australia is leading by 377 runs in the second innings. If the runs scored by England so far and the current score is a target for Australia then England will be way ahead of Australia in this match. It will be very difficult for Australia to win by 378 runs against a team like England. I initially think that England will win this match and the result of this Test series will remain undecided.

Stuart Broad announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket after this final test. He hit a six at the end in style. I don't like his personality one bit, but I will miss his bowling in tests.

Am expecting Woakes or Broad to remove Warner as usual. This final test might go down to the wire, but England will still probably end up winning.

Stuart Broad will retire from all formats of cricket it can actually be said to be an important farewell for England cricket. But England cricket will remember his contribution for the rest of his life and we cricket fans will never see him bowling again. But if England can win his last Test match, it will be a memorable match for him. And the last match of his life will be his farewell with a victory, it is actually a joy. England Test cricket will never forget Stuart Broad's contribution as the Test format has amassed his 600 plus wickets.

A total of 384 is enough to win if England's bowlers are able to bowl well. If England's bowlers don't perform well, they won't win. Because Australia's batsmen are also experienced enough.
