I highly doubt that they'll drop Pujara, i think this might be more like a rest for him and he'll get another chance for sure, he is a big veteran equivalent to Kohli, Rohit when it comes to Tests. There can't be a better series to test Jaiswal and Gaikwad, it would've been even better to rest maybe Rohit to test even Sarfaraz Khan who was playing great in first class. Good place to test our bowling bench strength as well.

The very same argument could be made for Kohli as well but no one in their mind thinking about dropping him. In the last 3-4 years both of these guys have more or less the same averages in the test cricket. I will add Rahane in the same mix and if we go by recent performance then Pujara played a fair amount of good innings in comparison to Rahane and Kohli.

Overall I do agree that you can't drop all your great in one go as it messes up your transition phase.

Whatever, there are more poor performing players into the squad. What's the need to take him away from the squad. In the WTC except Rahane no one performed well. They dropped Rahane first, he went to Ranji and made runs against weaker teams (injuries in the team India helped) and back to vice captain post. Now it's happening with Pujara, sure he will play the domestic and County as well, he always does that but what about Kohli?

Selectors are not answering this question and no one is loving the approach of different yardsticks for different players.

The England women’s team needs 167 more to win in 95 overs. They have already lost four wickets. I am almost certain that this match is not going to end in a draw. The woman of England are actually trying to build up a partnership right now. The last wicket fell on 73.

I think England realizes that they will need to have a very good partnership to actually be able to win the test match. They should also realize that they are not going to see a draw in this test match. But of course, Australia is also looking to try to get one more wicket.
