They are focusing way too much on the IPL for international format selections which implies that they haven't learnt from their previous mistakes.

You may set IPL as a platform to pick players for the national team T20 squad or at maximum, one day squad too but you cannot expect T20 players to perform equally well in the five day test match. The IPL format won't help in this case.

But since the IPL is the lifeline of BCCI, what are our options for them? One option and my personal favorite is to introduce an IPL test series too so that the Indian team can produce the Test Legends too. What about the IPL ODI Series too:

This way the Indian team will be playing two months of T20 IPL, 3 months of ODI IPL, and perhaps 5 months of Test Cricket IPL, making a total of 10 months busy in IPL out of 12 each year, leaving only 2 months for the exposure of International cricket.

Anyway, it looks like BCCI's recent bravado with selection and ignoring Ranji's top performers is making quite a noise. Everyone from Media, Former cricketers and even former selectors are unhappy with current developments.

In other news, the Anderson-Broad duo is complaining about the pitch.

The problem is that there is a huge gap between the quality of Ranji Trophy matches and international matches. Players such as Sarfaraz have never played against quality opposition. The BCCI is no longer interested in India A tours, which would have otherwise provided opportunity for such players to showcase their skills. Another option is to prove their worth by playing in the county championship, or in the Sheffield Shield. But it looks as if Sarfaraz Khan is not interested in doing that. Apart from Mumbai and IPL franchises, he has never represented any other teams.

This means that England's women's team now needs only 268 runs to win this test match and we have 3.5 sessions of play left in this match. We all were thinking of draw but not drawing seems impossible as we have more than enough time for England to chase this target.

That's the point everyone raising. Tbh it does look bad for Ranji players and it won't send a good message to domestic players. They are simply saying that it doesn't matter if you perform in Domestic or not as IPL is the main criteria for the selection process.

Btw heard that Sarfaraz is neglected because of his fitness, which is a very old problem and i agree with that as he was told many times to get fit even Kohli told him to get in shape when he was in RCB. They also mentioned his off-field behavior which is not clear to me.

I agreed about this even he is one of the best batsman from new generation and have impressive record in Ranji Trophy, but now he is fighting for the spot into Indian national team where he needs to have something special his on-field and off-field behavior which got many times reported, and his fitness issue is also not good for a national team right now, and we already have all reports about this all as well because I was reading about him, they are not ignored him just because of fitness his behavior is also main problem as well.

Here dropping just Pujara is not good because I am feeling they need to bring few more youngsters for this tour as this is good chance for them to have better practice in West Indies with this all if they dropped Rahane or Kohli this also justified but no one can talk about this all as now we have final call from selectors.

England need 152 runs to win on the fifth day. It will be very difficult for England Women to win this Test match against Australia Women. Because England have lost five wickets for 116 runs on the fourth day that means they need to collect 152 more runs with the remaining five wickets which is very difficult. Because they may have only two professional batsmen in their team, if Australia women team can take the wickets of these two professional batsmen, then Australia women team will win this match very soon. 

Australia defeated England by two wickets in the first match of The Ashes series, now the target for the Australia Women's team is to beat the England Women's team. If you can bowl according to the plan, this match will go in favor of Australia.

These are all minor issues since the man averages almost 80 since last couple of years which is why he deserves several opportunities at the very least. His off-field issues pale when compared to his on-field performances.

If players like Rohit(Fitness issue) and Kohli(Anger issue) can get opportunities, why can't he?

Rohit's example is a fair argument but at the same time how many unfit players do you want in the playing XI. Ofc they are champions in their respective field but overall unfit guys are a liability when they are fielding and we have many such players. Having said that i agree with you.

It's true for every local tournament, including County etc. It just helps you deal with different conditions, that's it. Sarfaraz scoring a shitload amount of runs in domestic against every opponent so he definitely can bat.

His only failure came when he had a 1 poor India A tour but in his defense, it wasn't a long tour for starters. In the last 3-4 years India A toured only 3 countries so yeah, it's on BCCI as well, not players.

The Aussie batting coach also said that it was the flattest wicket in England, he even added that county pitches are more lively. Cummins also said the same after 1st day of the play, Broad did too so it wasn't only Anderson.

England lost their first test match at Birmingham, but both teams were complaining about this pitch which is surely not suitable for the bowling but still impressive performance from the Australians for having their start with win in this year's Ashes no doubt now it's time for the James Anderson to have something for his career but look like he and ECB both are looking for the few more wickets which bring him to second spot and that will be ended his career.

About Ali, I was surprise when they bring him back for this series because he not deserves this chance with his record and performance but still they take this chance and this cost them in their first game now they are including Rehan for the second test which is some better even he needs more time for having better performance against team like Australia.

But obviously, you are not going to win a test match if you lose six wickets in 68 runs. Except for Wyatt, no one else was actually able to score. Anything meaningful for the England team. I genuinely thought the England women have a chance. But they proved me wrong. A big win for Australian women by 89 runs in the end.

If England Women could have played well in 2nd Inns then there might have been a chance to win the match.
