England collapsed like dominoes towards the end. They started so well, but messed up later on thanks to some messed up shots by some of the batsmen due to which they didn't even get close to the target.

Bazball is a good style of cricket, but it is overhyped to be honest. It clearly isn't working against powerful competitors like the Australians.

Things changed pretty quickly for England in this test match. The collapse we were talking about come a bit early in the England first innings and they were all down for  324 runs. This gives Australia around 90 runs lead which can prove to be a good one seeing the context of the match.

Aussie are looking confident out there and there are serious about pilling up runs for their probable victory. They lead by 129 runs with all the wickets still in hand. They surely have the upper hand in this match now.

Bazball seems to be hurting Poms here. I am not against this approach per se, i actually admire the fact that they are trying to do something new with their cricket, which was needed badly.

But at the same time lot of brainless cricket is going on, sometimes it even looks like amateur cricket and in contrast, Aussie just going with their usual Ashes business.

Don't be surprised if you see England get all out before they score 400 or less. As I said several times, it's a matter of a single session. But it's unlikely to happen if the pitch has the same condition as yesterday. The Ashes are the series where both teams fight for dignity. So, no team will let others go away that easily. All team players give their best effort to get the desired result.

Aussie fast bowlers seemed expensive last day, except for Pat Cummins. If English batters can keep a steady momentum and not start to play unnecessary bit shots, it won't be hard for them to score and take some lead.

Now the next big debate in this test match is what would be target England will get to chase. If you ask me, I will be first seeing the first session of this 4th day and see how the Australians play that critical morning session. If they can play that session 500+ runs lead in on the card for them and it could be match winning too.

However, if the Aussies lost quick wickets in the morning, and end up under 350 runs lead (a big collapse), this test would again become a cliffhanger on the fifth day.

There is nothing wrong with the attacking style of Cricket but they need to play carefully when the situation is not in their favor and they are failing to adapt to the situation when they are facing tough competition. In the second innings in this match the England middle order tried to play a defensive innings but they failed to stay in the crease for a longer period and it is a matter of time Australia built a huge task and win the match if rain stays away.

I was actually a little surprised to see the performance of England on this day. They should have performed a lot better, to be honest. They have lost six wickets in the span of 46 runs(279-325). I thought England was actually going to get a lead at least. But now Australia has complete control of this match. it is only the end of the third day and Australia has a lead of 221. Australia still has eight wickets in hand and regardless to say that they still have two very good batsmen, Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja in the middle. I don’t think England is going to win this test match in this situation.

Over the days the pitch variation definitely have got their impact on the game. England played well upto the 5th wicket, then the consecutive fall of wickets ended its innings earlier than expected. Even the team with complete fast lineup have worked well for England, but it was the mistake in batting that have made Australia have a better lead. Anyhow the match won't end in the 4th day.
