I was also about to type what's the connection of the upcoming election between the cases we're now experiencing. Lol It's because the politicians are going to loosen some restrictions just to get the vote of everyone. It's not new anymore and everybody is expecting that to happen because they all want the votes going to them. We're already too late with the restrictions and we have to live with it actually. While the other countries are dealing and living with it without any restrictions but there's still the minimum health protocol and usage of the mask, here we are still having the hard times.

I also see this connection just like what they did last December, well let’s see if this is correct and this is actually good for PBA so they can finally finish the season and start a new one. We know how politics works in our country, they will surely slowly loosen the restriction again especially now that many are already vaccinated.

Yes, while in other countries where they are not implementing restriction, us, we are still dealing with it. Not sure why the government is unable to imitate that same procedures or they are tied because of the many unvaccinated people who can spread the virus still, we are in the position where we can only do is to wait. PBA will resume though, even there's restriction they are still alternative plan to proceed. We just waiting for the announcement to clear these things out from the PBA board.

Yeah, the perfect example was December. I've been through many checkpoints that doesn't have people on duty. Yes, while in other countries where they are not implementing restriction, us, we are still dealing with it. We're slow in dealing with it and that's why the index made by Bloomberg ranks us the last but we eventually got up 3 positions AFAIK. I guess can't blame the PBA management for having tough times whenever there's a new alert that's being implemented. It's also due to the IATFs way of dealing with this pandemic and I guess we need to step up just like the other countries. It's not all about our health care system or they're advanced but it's about acceptance that we have to deal and live with this virus just as the other diseases.

Too tempting and this will be a hard decision for Coach Topex.
Too tempting indeed but i don't think that he would bite the offer as he would be away for his family for a long time. Filipinos are too attached to their families so i don't think that coach Topex will be coaching in Japan soon, maybe if he had no more job in the Philippines then i think that he go there to coach. It's a good thing though that coaches had been noticed in Japan, maybe they want to experiment what works in their system, US or Philippine style of coaching. The same sentiment here. Maybe if the offer will be from Assistant Coach to Head Coach, that might trigger the brainstorming on Coach Topex head since obviously, the salary of a Head Coach is far different from Assistant. I tried to search some sample figures about the salary of the head coach in the B-League but can't find any. I found one but I don't know if it's legit. Usually, even for other OFWs, they would only grab the offer to work abroad if the increase in salary is really high for example, an employee earning Php 35,000 a month here and will just earn Php 45,000 a month abroad will think twice since it's just a Php 10,000 increase and they will be away from their families. Yes, since Coach Topex was scouted and recognized in Japan B-league, meaning it's a start of scouting other PH coaches too.

The more to accept that we need to live with this virus, the better chances that we can push further. It's not just the government or the WHO, but everyone needs to do their share in fighting and preventing this virus. No doubt that PBA is doing their job observing how they can proceed with this current season. It's business, but they also need to think about people's health securities and by following what the IATF recommendation. The game will proceed, we are waiting for announcement and soon it will resume back.

That attachment to the culture gives value to every Filipino, yes, if the offer was too good to take that thing into consideration. Just like what you have said, if B-League will give him the head coach that may value a lot, aside from the compensation, the recognition also counts, being recognized and being imported from another country is a good recognition of any people who love excelling from their passions. Again, it's a yes with talents that B-League is scouting to our country...

The game will proceed, we are waiting for announcement and soon it will resume back. I just can't remember where i read it but i'm pretty sure that the PBA will be back in action on the first week of February as it gets the unanimous nods from the board of Governors to resume the games, in fact the IATF has allowed team scrimmages this week. Besides, covid cases in the NCR is dropping and health experts have predicted that things will be back to the pre-omicron status by March so we can expect crowd to be back in the arena this March or April.

I'd love to see the result, and I'm optimistic that it will happen because it's been a while now since the PBA is halted. The conference has to resume as for me this conference is a very competitive one, it's hard to predict on what team will win the championship.

The surge isn't forever so its only a matter of time before it happens. Same with Delta where there are days where the cases are its highest then it goes down gradually. It will also be the same with Omicron. Cases in NCR is slowly going down and cases in different region is starting to increase now. For PBA, this is a good sign for them since its only a matter of time that they will resume the Governor's Cup. Earliest possible is next month before they resume but I don't know what week. Lets wait .

Doesn't sound a rumor because that article was released by the PBA management itself and published by the Manila Bulletin, so it's quite safe to assume that this is a confirmed information that's likely to happen next month. Sadly, this event isn't open to public yet but yeah as soon as they will announce the games, we can also resume betting. Hopefully, there's no more setbacks this time around.

The Betting side can be done online and we can view the games as well, it will harm the PBA in terms of money making but they don't have any option, resuming is the only thing to get something from sponsors, we can only hope for the league to resume and see what would be the fate of this league if the virus continue to penetrate or country.. All we can do for now is to live with it and do our best to avoid being infected.

NLEX had a good start, hopefully, their momentum will not be gone due to this long break. Let me refresh you guys with the current standing. Their record is 4-1 https://pba.ph/standingsPractices will allow them to be more familiar with those set plays. It's good to know that they are now allowing players to do the drill, NLEX is doing great, but like every other team, they can use this long break to create new strategy and make good adjustments from their last performances. We are still in the early rounds and once PBA resume, we will see which team will excel and start to rally. Betting will be open again and each of us can share our predictions and thoughts with those upcoming games..

I think of the PBA management as sluggish as they don't see this coming. Well, but next time they come back which is in February, I guess that they already have an alternative plan if ever there would be some restrictions tightened again by the government. They should be proactive in making decisions and not that going to start planning when the unforeseen has come. I'm not an expert but I just see them too slow but it's understandable although one word for is that they were unprepared.

PBA should always have a back up plan to avoid any delays since we’ve been inti this situation for 2 years now, i assumed they already know how to handle this. They should continue and keep working to finish the conference, they are losing money though since the pandemic started but they can’t stop this better to adopt it and work necessarily. Staying safe is a big challenge for everyone, but life must go on.

PBA always has a plan but they can't just execute it right awaybecause there are lots of approvals they need. - First, on IATF and GAB (although the latter already approved PBA to allow the resume)- Second, on LGU (lots of considerations if the venue will be in province)- Third, the hassle process of conducting a bubble operation. Moving forward, it's good to see that they are now targeting next month, regardless of the situation, to commence the Governor's Cup.

But if the same number will stay next month, IATF should still allow PBA to operate even in a semi-bubble format. What matters here is, all those confirmed cases are not severe. It's just like a normal flu to anyone know not unless there's a serious medical condition. Imports will not stay here for long waiting for the resume. We don't like to see a Governors Cup without imports playing.
