real madrid failed to score at least 1 goal and was not playing with a very strong team. I wonder if they will have any chance against Manchester city

It is a more dissapointment for Real Madrid with the final medical report that Eden Hazard got serious ankle injury which will take him around 2 months of medical treatments and fully recovery. It is a really bad news for Real Madrid.

I know Eden has not had a good form (both his physical fitness, his weight) but his appearance in some match do help Real Madrid. His amazing dribbling skills catch attention of defenders and bring more space for his teammates.

My best Sunday in a long time! I didn't even check or watch La Liga or even could not go online for more than 24 hours and I come back and see Messi 4 goals AND Real lose.

Back on top, Barca, and I truly wasn't expecting it at all until the next El Clasico. I don't want to hope too much but this is awesome news really.

And not City will feel the wrath.

Lionel Messi was very instrumental in this match against Levante bringing 4 goals is the best and is now a temporary top scorer after overtaking Karim benzema.
Although Barcelona returned to the top of the table for the victory earlier and I think in the El Classico match it is who decides who is greater because if Real Madrid wins Barcelona will be below Madrid again.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are big teams, the more prepared team that has a better chance to win. If we looked at the current performance, I am afraid that Real Madrid will prepare themselves well. The loss for Madrid shows the lack of attacking depth snd squad depth at Zidane disposal and the coach will be fuming after letting a 2 points league slumbler so easily.

But then, injury to Bale and Hazard is one too hard to handle for Madrid forward void of a goalscoring talisman.

Maybe Real don't have super star in the team any more but I feel they have better team than Barcelona.
Their defense is much better than in previous years.
Barcelona have a lot internal conflicts now and depends to much on Messi.
I think Real have more chances for the titles this year, both in LA Liga and CL.

It was bad luck.It is the first time for me I am not blaming players or direction of Real Madrid.I checked the statistics and I saw that Real completely dominated the game and it was really bad luck that they conceded a goal in the late additional time of the second half.I lost my ticket because of them but I don’t feel bad because they truly played good in that game.

I think instead of taking it out on luck, i feel Madrid attacking supremacy is low
Jovic has failed to deliver
Bale and hazard injured
Benzema seems to have a weary leg, isco out of sorts.

Perhaps it's time for zidane to double his strikeforce in Jovic and Benzema and hope the tides shifts

Totally agree... Also there are a lot of game when Barcelona is not performing good with Messi on the squad.
Having said that, even when Messi is part of the first line up, he cannot provide points to the Barcelona for sure.
Real has a great chance to get back on the top position and win the title.

I think they have some players that can be categorized as superstars. Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kross, Hazard, and Bale are top players in the world. Especially Modric, he ever won Ballon d'Or in 2018. It is undoubted to call him a superstar.

Their defense is much better than in previous years.

The defenders may be better than previous but it is not enough to win a match if they have no shining attackers. Moreover, to win La Liga trophy, Real Madrid must have good players in all positions, defenders-midfielders-attackers.

Well,  in my opinion we have today many stars but only 2 superstars,  Messi and Ronaldo.
We can see what happened with Real when they lost Ronaldo.
Their defense is still very good but they don't have good attackers any more,  someone who can replace Ronaldo.
I still think that Real have more chances to become champion because they are team while Barcelona is often "one man" show 😀
Any way,  we will soon find out 😁

on 02/03/20 Real Madrid will face eternal rivals (Barca)..  as a Madrid fan I expect Isco, Benzema and Vinicius and other players work hard in this match.  a final score of 1-0 or 2-1 (with Real Madrid winning) is likely to be the final result of this match.

Real Madrid have a problem with the forward line and if we were free scoring the matches against Levante and Manchester City wouldn't have been a problem. The defense has certainly improved this season but with Benzema now out of form, Hazard on and off and Bale a complete dead weight in the team, we are finding it hard to win even easy games now.

Let's wait and see what happens tomorrow thou i would love to see Real Madrid win

Real Madrid will face Barcelona for the La Liga trophy at home tomorrow and it may determine which club to win it this season. At this time, Real Madrid isn't in a good position since it is 2 points behind. Real must win the match if they want to keep dreaming of La Liga trophy. While if they lost, they will be 5 points behind. It will hurt the fans at home, plus harder to overtake Barcelona.

Benzema is not the type of number 9 who stays in the box. Sometimes he plays in the wings particularly on the left and midfield living the forward space void (which Cristiano Ronaldo would very much utilize when he was still around) so most of the time when attacking, Real Madrid don't have enough numbers in the box leading to less goal opportunities.

I think Jovic best fits the current style of play since there is a lot of crossing from the wings by Marcelo, Mendy, Lucas and midfield crossings by Kroos and modric. Jovic is good with aerial balls too but Zidane just can't Benzema go.

Sadly Jovic is rotting on bench.

Yep. Not only about it, but there are also other things as his weakness.
- He is not a typical striker who can fight strong with opposing defenders.
- He is less able to find a space to score.
- He also often wasted opportunities.

Agree. It is worth trying, at least in the first round in the upcoming match (vs Barcelona). Placing Jovic as the starter may surprise the Barcelona team. And it probably has a special motivation for Jovic to do his best. Who knows that he will make a surprising thing?!

This is something that I can't understand. Why Zidane still keeps him on the team even though there is nothing special in him. I doubt if it is all about nationality.

I expect that El Clasico will be low scoring game. In few recent games between Real and Barca we haven't saw many goals. And offence line of both teams is far from being optimal. Real struggled to score against Levante last week. While Barca have lot of difficulties on away games this year.
In recent weeks Barca playing better and J hope to see our win on Sunday. It would give us more calm life for remaining part of season with 5 point lead.
