Football Espana [1] reported that the 2019/20 La Liga participating clubs could suffer losses of up to 957 million euros if the season was stopped. Such losses can occur if soccer competitions at all levels are stopped. The level of losses that occur can change if not all are stopped, which is related to continental level competition. The overall loss occurred due to loss of income from broadcasting rights, ticket sales, and other aspects of the operational activities of all participating clubs, which could occur in various countries in the future due to the Cov-19 pandemic. Reference [1]: https://www.football-espana.net/2020/04/02/la-liga-clubs-could-lose-up-to-e957m-if-season-is-cancelled/amp#click=https://t.co/haGKMT7FlUI consider the COVID19 effect as a total reset to the Global economy, in most if not in all countries including all the activities in the respective countries. So, it's not like only one sector will suffer due to the losses. Just like the entertainment, sectors like Tourism, trading, Hospitality and travelling agencies will also face the same consequences. According to my thinking, when things finally settle down, The cost of living or the cost of Player transfer won't be as expensive as it was before this whole crisis started.

Soccer as many other entertaining industries will suffer heavy losses and this is normal because of this situations.

Bigger clubs like Real and Barcelona will continue to make good money from the sale of players, TV and marketing rights but for the smaller clubs will be very difficult to survive financially. Many players will lose their value, in football there will be a smaller amount of money available and this will affect the operations of all clubs. Big transfers like Neymar's from Barcelona to Paris SG will no longer happen.

It's the game for giants as in life, not only in sports. Whenever crises appear, pundits will become bigger (barely to see some pundits collapse due to crises but some of them are reasons of crises). The same goes for sports, big clubs have better survival ability and they will recover faster after crises. It is really hard to see some clubs can recover from financial troubles and become competitive with other strongest clubs in their nations, such as A. Madrid (in Spain), B. Dortmund (in Germany) and SSC Napoli (in Italy). Many players will lose their value, in football there will be a smaller amount of money available and this will affect the operations of all clubs. Big transfers like Neymar's from Barcelona to Paris SG will no longer happen.
I don't care about value of players, that have been overinflated recent seasons. There is a newspaper that says Ronaldo de Lima is the biggest transfer over history of football, if we include all factors of social economy, inflation rates, ie. Neymar transfer from Barcelona to PSG was only ranked in the bottom of top 10.

They will be making more money than the smaller clubs because they have always been doing so, but definitely they wouldn't be making as much as they use to before this pandemic outbreak. The smaller clubs i am afraid would be hit harder, especially financially, I can imagine a whole lot of small clubs going completely bankrupt and will find it difficult to pay players and staff salaries. A lot of transfers due to happen, may not go through after this pandemic is over, clubs will try to make money and recover by selling their players for a good cost, clubs after losing so much this period would not have too much money to spend on transfers, it's going to be a very difficult situation for all clubs.

The biggest losses are going to come for the tickets as most games now are going to be played without spectators. The contracts for the tv revenues are going to be fulfilled as the games are going to be played.

Let's not overreact on the prices of the players right away. I understand that for a season or two we may not have huge transfers anymore, but with the times going like this, in 10 years 500 million dollars for a player wouldn't be out of question no matter how long this corona goes.
I mean surely next season we are not going to see too much of a big transfers going on when and however the season starts, and the year after that we may not really recover fully, or even a year after that as well, but eventually in 5 seasons do you really think that these huge clubs like Madrid or Barcelona will still have troubles? They can literally just sell some of their youth teams and can still make a huge amount of money. Madrid could literally sell half of their team and get younger players and start over with zero financial issues, these teams will be fine in 2-3 years max.

agree, these clubs will always have their fan clubs, with millions of fans, and that is what is driving their revenues, so they will always have better TV rights, funding and etc. and will be in a position to have money for good players, on the other hand with fresh 2 trillion USD on the market, it will be easier to put 500 million into a player, it is not the same 500 million as this year, and certainly not as ten years ago

I think due to the corona virus & the financial problems that it’s causing teams we won’t see many huge money transfers like usual (whenever the transfer window actually opens). Barca & Real have large debts too, I don’t think it’s a tike for clubs to splash the cash, more likely a time to be frugal.

The rate of recovery of big fish in the economy also depends on how the small fish are doing . A season or two or even 5 is too small a time frame to recover, so that we start seeing transfers like that of Neymar. The COVID19 pandemic hasn't even been contained for pete's sake. What if the pandemic goes on for a year? Will you be saying the same?

Problems in Barcelona's management are again in the spotlight. The club, which is headquartered at Camp Nou, received a negative focus on financial problems, which increased due to the Covid-19 pandemic which made the club's income significantly reduced. This time the Barca management again had a big problem. Barca's vice president, Emili Rousand, along with five other sections in the club's directors consisting of Enrique Tombas, Silvio Elias, Maria Teixidor, Josep Pont, and Jordi Clasamiglia, officially resigned from the club's directors, and have submitted a resignation letter to the club . Seeing the chaos that occurred at Camp Nou, a surprising statement delivered by Victor Font is none other than Barca's presidential candidate. The 47-year-old man assessed if El Barca threatened bankruptcy if it is still led by the current directors led by Bartomeu. What a sad ending for a football player who was destined to do great things in his career. Barcelona spent 124 million euros on Dembele in 2017. and now they will be very happy to sell him for just a half price, 60 millon euros but nobody wants him. Lack of seriousness and immaturity with numerous injuries have destroyed one potentially great football story. <...> Lack of seriousness and immaturity with numerous injuries have destroyed one potentially great football story.
He's just 22 yeard old, though. If he was in his late 20's then yeah, I would agree with you, but he's still got potential to become a great player. I think Barca will keep him on the squad until his contract expires in 2022, no reason to sell someone that young for 60M...Unless they want to have more cash to sign a Rakitic replacement.

Yes, it's to early to write-off Dembele, he is still young. But I don't expect that he will show something what we expected in Barcelona. His attitude, injuries - I don't see his future in Barcelona. There is always big risk to buy young player for such big money. In current situation it will be difficult to sell him, but I think it will be possible when world will return to normal life.

I personally never expected him to ever shine in a Barca shirt. His attitude when he was nearing the switch from Borrusia Dortmund tp Barcelona spoke volumes and i know he must be regretting the day he decided to leave his old club that cherished him.

It will be interesting to see what Barcelona will finally do with him 😀

Yes, it's to early to write-off Dembele, he is still young. But I don't expect that he will show something what we expected in Barcelona. His attitude, injuries - I don't see his future in Barcelona. There is always big risk to buy young player for such big money. In current situation it will be difficult to sell him, but I think it will be possible when world will return to normal life.
The fact that he is too young isn't an excuse for him. He got a huge opportunity to prove himself in one of the biggest clubs in the world. If you are a valuable player you reach top performance even from your young age - just see Messi what did from the age of 19.

The fact that he is too young isn't an excuse for him.
It's not an excuse for his performance, but it leaves a window of opportunity open. It's far too early in his career to write him off. He has had a lot of good games in Barcelona and Dortmund colours (admittedly, far more in Dortmund) and we all can agree he has quality. The huge pressure from his price tag and also playing for a new club, which puts one in the spotlight and attracts lots of media attention hasn't let him settle in easily. But he still has the opportunity to prove himself.

Personally, he hasn't impressed me in Barcelona and I cannot see anything in him that can show he can be a part of Barca's first team. Maybe he is a good player to play on a mediocre team. not a player to play on a top club.
