They eventually cane out victorious with a goal from one of their long serving players; Iker Munian, with a strike just before the break. The also dominated majority of the tie as we look towards the return fixture.
Before that, we have the second semi-final fixture being played between Real Sociedad and Mirandes later today. Sociedad would be expected to win, but football is unpredictable.

they won and I was really happy with that victory, but I ended up losing a bet because Inter lost against Napoli. it was really a bad luck I had yesterday, but I'm waiting for today's game:

Hey, don't forget that the Copa del Rey semi finals start tomorrow: Athletic Bilbao vs Granada.

As many people have already people said: this is by far the best Copa del Rey ever. This is gonna be such a good game, people are going crazy buying tickets to watch it, tv rights for the semis were sold in seconds..seriously, like everyone on social media said last week: best league cup ever! And Real Sociedad vs Mirandes on Thursday? It's gonna be epic! I literally cannot wait to watch both games.

hehe But he's been so good this season, hands down the best defensive midfilder in the world right now.

He's starting position is at midfield but he's been playing three postions.  Defending, making assists and being a goal threat too on top of that.  They don't need Paul Pogba imo (there are rumors saying he could end up at Real.  I wonder why Zidane is hellbent on getting him).

In my own opinion, i think Zidane is not hell bent on getting pogba.
In reality, therr are some PR or news agency thst foils several news about pogba unrest.

Madrid nor juventus made a bid for Pogba in the past 2 transfers, speaks volume

I remember early in the season you asked here whether Granada were a good underdog to bet on or not...Good to know you didn't fall for their short-lived good run in the league.

All teams have to get "better" every year, that doesn't specifically mean the players they have right now are bad, neither means the team is going to a new direction. Sometimes its because players you have want somewhere else, sometimes it is because they get older, sometimes they do not go along with teammates, there are plenty of reasons why a team full of good players that can play another season together may want to do something else and pick another player for the same spot.

I still think Ronaldo move was wrong for example, we have seen for two years now that dude has been good, Madrid is not a team that needs money, they are filthy rich so they could have kept him. Teams transfer players, that has been a thing forever, some teams more than others but all of them do it.

Agree. There is no need to sign Pogba because Real Madrid has some attacker Midfielders. The focus must be on how to find out someone to backup for Casemiro. Real Madrid will be in a problem when Casemiro is not in good condition since they have no other good defensive midfielders. I mean someone who is a pure defensive midfielder.

Actually there are many good real midfield midfielders, but only Casemiro is able to perform at his best and continue to pressure opponents with good form and defense.
If it is true that Pogba will move to Real Madrid in the summer then this will be better too or get stronger but for Madrid there are already many good players living on how to play the right thing because in every position it is always different.

Real might spend some money for Pogba in order to bring him on the bench and rotate him with Casemiro when he needs rest or to be protected. Pogba is not any better than Casemiro and he is a good player to have him on the bench so as to bring solutions from there.

Was somehow hoping Mirandes would at least be able to draw the game, but I suppose they could have lost worse that 2-1. Wasn't able to watch the game at all every channel was showing Ronaldo versus Zlatan but I wasn't really interested:)

Anyway, weekend is coming up again and so is all the normal action. Atletico need to win this I guess but Valencia want to chase CL too?

Valencia would be keen on climbing into the top four with a victory later today, even if it lasts for only a few hours.
I think the game between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the league, Barcelona vs Getafe could be in contention for the toughest fixture of the matchweek.
Barcelona cannot afford any slip ups and I do not expect any from them or Real Madrid.

He used to be a top class player.
I don't think that he has any position in the first line up of Real Madrid after all those stagnant years in Man Utd.
It would be a good option for him to sign for Real and sit on the bench.

Last night's game was good for me, Atletico dropping points, even just 2 is something that makes me breathe easier as I know their form is bad but it won't last. They were unlucky not to win I think, less possession but more shots on goal.

But tonight's match I'm really surprised Barcelona doesn't have worse odds. It's not like we're at our peak, and it's not like our opponent isn't in a good chance for CL. But home advantage I guess.

I’m not sure why people believe that Pogba is heading to Real Madrid, and even if he does why will he be a bench player out there?. As a Manchester United fan I have seen him play a lot, and I can tell you guys all he needs is the right kind of motivation and players that can push him to his limits and then you’ll see a different version of Paul Pogba. Furthermore I feel that he’s heading towards Juventus, but of course there’s no real confirmation to this and we will have to wait till the summer transfer window to confirm this.

As a Manchester United fan I have seen him play a lot, and I can tell you guys all he needs is the right kind of motivation and players that can push him to his limits and then you’ll see a different version of Paul Pogba.

Who cares about that? The whole team have to serve him in order to get his best performance in returns (just in his good match-days). I don't think it is a win-win situation for the whole team. You see, after some seasons in Manchester United, what Pogba has shown? His performance is very unstable, that tends to strongly correlated with his mood.
