This problem must be solved by Xavi Hernandez because letting it drag on will make mistakes happen again. I see that their defense and attack patterns are quite different, where when the front line plays well the defense is inconsistent and vice versa, when their defense is good the front players are not in good performance.

They won La Liga in the past season with very excellent defensive system but it changed in this season because they got more conceded goals. Their attacking system also does not operates good enough and with problems in both defense and attacking systems, they got worse results that are not surprising. Barcelona falls down a lot and they have to defend their position in top four with challenges from other clubs not too far from them. I don't think it is too early to say that Barcelona nearly can not defend their title successfully.

Currently they are in third place where their position could be overtaken by Atletico Madrid if Barcelona shows inconsistent results again in the next match. Real Madrid returned to first place after Girona drew with Real Betis.

Barcelona will have to play well, hope that Girona later will lose their good performances and fall out of top four then Barcelona will have less pressure in this competition by having one less competitor.

Real Madrid is truly lucky, but this luck comes from the strong mentality of the Real Madrid players themselves and thanks to the mature strategy of a great coach that they have, namely Carlo Ancelotti, who looks like he will only accompany Real Madrid until this season, that is until His contract expires in 2024. Today's win brings Real Madrid back to the top of the standings. Because Girona failed to maintain the 1 goal lead they had in the first half. Because Real Betis was able to equalize in the second half quite convincingly.

Betis - Girona was a balanced game in general. Girona started to accept the game in their half after getting ahead by 1-0. In the end Real Madrid also got a 1-1 draw against Betis away recently. Girona also got the same result. If Real Madrid don't make big mistakes they should be able to beat Alaves easily. This must be enough to carry them to the top in the standings if I'm not wrong.

When I saw that Real Betis was playing Girona yesterday, I knew that Real Betis would not play Girona like that. They are a very strong team this season, and we should also keep in mind that it is very difficult to defeat them. What a fortunate game for Real Madrid! To be honest, I did not think they would beat Deportivo Alaves again because they were down to ten players, including the goalkeeper, after Nachos was given a red card during the match. This had many believing that Real Madrid would not win, but Lucas' goal at the 92-minute mark changed the game because Deportivo was unable to respond. I believe Real Madrid needs a centre back player because if they don't have one, it will negatively impact them. The fact that Ancelotti can be so stubborn at times that he refuses to purchase players makes it impossible for him to use Tchoumeni, who is a very good centre back, in a 4 position. Instead of using Kroos and Modric simultaneously, it would be better if he starts with Modric and reserves Kroos for the second hand because of their advanced age.

Girona is surely doing good job in this season against all odds and their performance is surprising as well, but their defence is surely giving them problem as they have just one clean sheet in last five games and conceding good number of goals so same happen in this game against Betis in first half both teams were on level and done good job with Girona were good enough to have lead but in second half we have strong comeback by the Betis, and they were aggressive which help them for having equalizer into 88th minute through Pezzella which allow them to share point with Girona and keep their draw streak which is now already touching 4 number with 10th draw of this season as well which is keeping them at the 7th spot in the league table as well.

Yeah, Girona's defense is not solid at all, if you watch most of their matches is either they will concede goals first or they won't win with clean sheets. Nothing draws a team back as always conceding goals if not that Girona has strong strikers that are always able to put the ball to the net if not they would have had so many challenges. Right now, the competition between Real Madrid and Girona is becoming so tensed and am afraid Girona may not really be able to withstand the pressure of when they top the league then Real Madrid also tops as well and looking from the Madrid squad, they don't play like people that will lose a match because their players are always determined.

After last night's game Madrid played someone will say they're on track? No to me, they've been playing pretty bad.
Madrid are having injury problem but that doesn't mean that they're suppose to be battling to get a win over a weaker side, Alaves. I wasn't expecting Madrid to struggle in every game they play in La Liga this season, since they're one of the best, they should show some maturity in the game not letting smaller clubs get something positive to talk about after the game. Winning 0-1 isn't impressive at the moment, I just wished Girona had gotten the 3 point they went for by now the gap wouldn't have been that close, 45pt with Madrid.
I'll still say it, Madrid will continue to find it hard to get the business done in every game and they're also weak/not a threat to any club in la Liga.

Lucas goal was very meaningful and was the winner, a very crucial minute when all the Alaves players were almost working hard not to let Madrid get 3 points. From the whole match I admit that Alaves did their job well, but what they didn't pay attention to was the mentality of the Madrid players who all fought until the last second. If you look more closely at the time the goal was scored, the possibility of Lucas receiving the ball was actually quite small with his small stature  actually making the Alaves players unaware that the ball was heading towards Lucas who was not at all closely guarded. When Nanco was given a red card, the  aggressiveness of Alaves attacks should have been more massive because they took advantage of Nanco empty position. Ancelotti recalled Modric because he wanted to use Tchouaméni in the back line. I think Madrid had to pay a heavy price for this victory because more  and more defenders were absent either due to injury or accumulation of cards.

After a long time the Girona team lost points in another match. After watching Girona's dominance against Barcelona, I thought this team could continue their winning streak for a long time. But they failed to win against Real Betis. The match was drawn 1-1.

Unbelievable, but they scored the goal in the last minutes and return to first place in La Liga. Now Real Madrid can make a winterbreak on Place 1, because Betis also scored just before the end against Girona. I thought the change at the top wouldnt happen until February at the latest, when they have to play each other, but I think it is good that it happened in the last game of the year. Vazquez maybe get an extra big bonus for that goal. In the hole game there were only 17 shots on goal, of which real madrid only make 9. Unfortunately, the red card meant that Garcia didnt have much of a chance to get into the game, but Joselu did.

It seems to me that Betis had an advantage in this game, they had more shots on goal and they had more chances, but the realization of Betis is bad and they could score 2-3 goals, but in the end they scored in the end, a very beautiful shot.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Girona all had hard matches this round.
Barcelona had a draw with Almeria until the last minutes of the game when they were able to get the lead and win.
Atletico Madrid were leading with 2 goals difference until the last minutes of the match when Getafe surprised them with 2 goals and picked one point from them.
Girona scored since the first half and were confident to win until almost the end of the game but surprise! Real Betis did it and made them drop the first position to Real Madrid which also picked a victory in the extra time. What a difficult round for all of them but definitely Girona was the one which impacted it the most in my opinion otherwise they would finish this year in the first position..

The performance of the Girona team is very good this season. The performance of this team has surprised everyone since the beginning of the season. Girona team has occupied the top spot of the table for a long time. Although now second in the table, they are level on points with Real Madrid.

In today match I was really a little disappointed with their performance and of course there were some losses that occurred because of this draw.

Of course Girona's chances are still quite big, they are currently having a pretty good performance at the moment and a draw against Betis is very normal and it is also a bit of unlucky for Girona even though their performance is already quite impressive.
