Let's be realistic, they don't give light to get any trophy this season. They play some good games and some bad games, consistency is important for getting cups but they don't have that. There are many matches that Real Madrid won this year like that, we can't explain this with luck alone. In the transfer season if we see new additions to the Barca squad and if they get a win streak things may change but right now I'm not really hopeful about them. There are better teams in Champions League, even if they pass quarter final they'll face with these teams. Copa del Rey is not really important tbh. Despite the points difference, La Liga should be the priority for them.

Xavi Alonso has been an incredible and outstanding manager for Barcelona since he took over the managerial position at the club and was able to help them win the Spanish La Liga title last season which has raised the expectations of fans of the Catalan club. But because of the financial crisis at the club that's limited their  strength of signing top European players coupled with the fact that a lot of the club's first team players sustained various kind of injuries since the start of the season,  the performance of the club has significantly declined.

With the current  situations at Barcelona,  I don't think they have all it takes to win any major trophy this season. It's one thing to be a good manager but absolutely another thing to have the needed  quality of players at your  disposal in other to deliver a good performance.  In my own opinion, I think finishing in the top four of the Spanish La Liga this season should be a good performance for a team that had as many injury issues like Barcelona did this season.

Sevilla would be at home against Atletico Bilbao whenever they return, banking of Quique Sanchez Flores amd his men to win.

Sevilla will lose against Athletic Bilbao in my opinion even though they are playing home.
Sevilla has to move a little bit forward to avoid being close to the relegation zone and dropping on it eventually.

A case where a team does well the previous season and becomes very bad in the next season. I'm not saying Xavi should be sacked, but I won't blame the management of Barcelona if they sack Xavi because they need results. When a team is being rebuilt like Barcelona is, they should be winning and also playing well.

Araujo, Kounde, Cancelo, Balde, and Christensen are among the best players in their positions. Even if not the top 3 you can't call the top 10 players in Europe in those positions and not include those players.
The same thing applies to their midfield. Frenkie, Gundugan, and Pedri are elite midfielders.

There are only two reasons why I would give Xavi the benefit of the doubt if I were in a position to fire him.
1. His main players are always injured. Gavi, Pedri, Frankie, Aruajo get injured
2. He doesn't have a natural world-class DM and the attack is poor. Raphinha,  Felix, and Lewandoski have not been productive up front.

I've lesser contribution to regarding the current performance of Barcelona this season, they've lost and ruined their chances of contesting with Real Madrid and presently, Girona taken their spot. Nobody should blame the coach for ruining the club because we have watched and know the problem facing the club. Who talks about sacking Xavi Hernandez when we're aware of the frustrating form these clubs have found themselves and it will be really challenging for Barcelona to bounce back to winning shape. For sure, Barcelona have quality players but they lack good chemistry between these players and that have led them to become vulnerable and totally unpredictable, we know have clue on the games they can win and the one they can draw.

Atletico Madrid won a difficult match, they need to be appreciated. They took the lead at the beginning of the second half with Marcos Llorente and controlled the game until the 70th minute. After Çağlar Söyüncü received a red card, they became a more defensive side and they did it well. It's not easy to play short, but they defended really well. We saw the classic Atletico game, a complete winner team that didn't concede a goal and won with a single goal. They are now back in the championship race and other teams are already fearing about them.

Atletico Madrid is one team I admire in the Spanish la Liga but the only problem the club have is not being able to win the la Liga for some time now, the reason why I like Atletico Madrid is because they don't concede much goals and they have a solid defense that makes it difficult for their opponents to penetrate. Atletico Madrid winning Sevilla is a big achievement for them as they have moved to third position in the la Liga table with equal points as Barcelona but Atletico Madrid is leading them on goal difference.

If Atletico Madrid can continue winning their matches there is a chance for them to win the La Liga title this season.

So far this season it also seems like Real Madrid and other big clubs have been the clube chasing Girona at the top. Lovely to see both Toni Kroos and Jude Bellingham leading the highest goals and assist in La Liga. They're doing well to make sure they win the La Liga title.

Girona's understanding makes me happy, they fight for themselves and play like a team should.

I think now that Girona has fallen behind Real Madrid, they cannot catch up to them. Real Madrid are currently in good form and catching up to them is going to be very tough. They are going to have to beat Real Madrid in their Head to head match in February as well. Girona had that consistency keeping them in first place but that draw probably cost them the Championship of Spain.

I always loved an underdog run. But Real Madrid was too good for them. But if they can keep up the previous consistency and not drop points, they probably can come back. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid's situation aren't that good either, sitting at 3rd and 4th place respectively. I don't see them taking Girona's place. It kinda feels good to see a small team from La Liga actually achieving something this season.

They are going to have to beat Real Madrid in their Head to head match in February as well. There's no need to rush to say it the season is still long 20 matches waiting ahead and we must remember Real Madrid have a busy schedule which may have an impact on their performance in the Spanish League I'm not saying Girona is better than Madrid but sometimes there are moments that can be exploited for example when Madrid competes in the champions league then they can't totally play in La Liga I mean some players will miss the La Liga match and they are prepared for the champions league match. They are same points with Athletico Madrid right now, which means that they can do better than them, doesn't mean Barcelona will end up getitng ahead, they could finish the season fourth too, but it looks like there is a big possibility of that as well. Aside from that, I think Girona is the biggest rival for this season, 7 points ahead, and there are so many games left which means that they could somehow catch them too if they do better. So a second place is not all that bad, that's what Barcelona does on most years, either first or second, and this would be fine.

I understand that they would rather win, but that is not too bad neither. I do also agree that we are talking about something that may take a while too, we just need to end up being a little bit more patient with them, and see how second half goes.

I always loved an underdog run. But Real Madrid was too good for them. But if they can keep up the previous consistency and not drop points, they probably can come back. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid's situation aren't that good either, sitting at 3rd and 4th place respectively. I don't see them taking Girona's place. It kinda feels good to see a small team from La Liga actually achieving something this season.
