I think now that Girona has fallen behind Real Madrid, they cannot catch up to them. Real Madrid are currently in good form and catching up to them is going to be very tough. They are going to have to beat Real Madrid in their Head to head match in February as well. Girona had that consistency keeping them in first place but that draw probably cost them the Championship of Spain.

Some people here talk as if the last game is about to be played in a few days from now. Goal difference doesn't matter. If you want to, you can check out when it was the last time that the goal difference decided in La Liga who became the champion. I can't remember such an event. It is temporary. And just for anyone's information, in La Liga it would be the head to head comparison when two teams finish the season with the same number of points.

But it is still so early that all these discussions are fun to have, but they lead nowhere since in 4 weeks from now Real Madrid could be leading by 9 points in a worst case. If Girona continues to win their games, then it is going to be exciting.

maybe it's too early to speculate about the match in february but it is very clear that Real Madrid is more experienced and has a legacy such as being the leader in La Liga and previously these two teams have competed and Girona lost against Real Madrid and this will happen again in february. on the one hand, Madrid is on its way to bringing in a striker player who can be assured that the striker is very high quality.
with this we can predict how the future match will end without a striker in the past, they could beat Girona and with this striker making Real Madrid more fierce and unable to be beaten by Girona.

It's hard to imagine barcelona to take the second place. The club will be losing more players in the late season. It's caused by barcelona urgently needs to raise as much money as the club can to handle the debt.
Barcelona is very close to the dealine to pay its debt. The club needs to sell players to pay that. No reason for barcelona to climbing up again if some players are going to leave.

I think that all of top teams in la liga will always become rivals for barcelona. Barcelona is still struggling due to the financial trouble that may be never end. I don't see that the best option is to pay the debt. Barcelona has two long and short term debts and these debts will be giving impact to the any movement being made by barcelona this time. It's hard to say where barcelona will get the money to pay its debt. It's caused by these long and short term debts owned by barcelona are very big. The club is always trying so hard to pay that but it was never decreasing.
Xavi has been forcing by the situation to put some key players for sale in the market. This initiative has been coming when barcelona was struggling to pay the debts owned by the club. This is the main problem that may be so hard to be solved.
Barcelona will be collapse if the debts will not be paid. It's caused by barcelona has so many burden. You will be seeing barcelona to have the same fate like sevilla. Sevilla was the best example for this.

I think Barcelona's management is not wise if they break the cooperation with Xavi, because Barcelona's current performance is also due to their own actions in the past, which makes them unable to move freely, especially in the transfer market. I'm still not convinced that Girona is a strong candidate for the league title this season regardless of their excellent performance a d their consistency in winning and quickly racing to the top of the table, they seem to be using the strategy of using the smaller teams to win the league while the loose to the bigger teams but then in this second round of the league they may have troubles.

Real Madrid still remains the top and most probable team for the title this season, I don't see Barcelona any way close to the title although a lot can change after the Christmas because the still have about twenty games to the end of the league , what will really matter at this point will have to consistency, teams who can stay consistent with their performance and their results will be able to maintain the stamina to stay long enough or probably climb to the top by displacing others in other to win the title, Atletico seem to lack such consistency.

Barcelona have lost so many points recently. Their form in their last 5 league games is really poor which caused them to be left behind by Girona and Real Madrid more in points. In addition to that Atletico Madrid also have  got ahead of them. Barcelona really need to make a big improvement in this form if they want to be a part of the title competition.

They can start by beating Las Palmas away next week. But I must admit that this isn't an easy task for them. Because if you remember Las Palmas beat Atletico Madrid home before. They have a potential to surprise Barcelona as well.

It is quite unique if we look at Real Betis' match results in the last 5 matches because they got 4 draws and 1 win. This was all achieved because they held several strong teams such as Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and most recently Girona to a draw, but they should have been able to get 3 points instead of 1 point against Almeria. The result of the draw is also the same as eliminating a total of 12 points and maybe next time Real Betis should maximize the existing results rather than just playing a draw.

Currently Real Betis is in 7th position with 28 points and in fact they could be closer to the top 4 if they managed to wipe out the previous match with a win. Well, Real Betis has at least proven that they are still consistent this season and they have not fallen into mid-table and are continuing to try again to be able to compete with other teams on the right track.

The team has not been relying on individual brilliance to get theirs results this season rather they've been playing excellently well with their harmonious team football and that's why they are currently in the second position of the Spanish league.

For a team to be as consistent as Girona have been in the Spanish league till the end of the first half of the league shows how determined they are to end the season with league title and that's why I'm absolutely  shocked that someone is still not considering them as a serious contender for the Spanish La Liga title.  Girona were promoted back to the Spanish league last season and were able to finish in the 10th position of the league table so I wouldn't be too surprised if they can do the unthinkable by lifting the Spanish La Liga title at the end of the season.  If they can have the same number of points with Real Madrid at this time of the season in the top of the league table, I think they can still  win the league at the end of the season. Real Madrid without doubt has better  chance than Girona because of the quality of players in their set up but that doesn't mean that Girona can't go on to win the Spanish La Liga title.

Xavi can take advantage of the opportunity in the January transfer window to buy players who can help him in the second half of the season. They must immediately correct several existing weaknesses in the next transfer window because this season Barcelona must compete more strongly in the race for the title because Real Madrid and Girona are able to appear more consistently compared to Barcelona. Xavi has a harmonious relationship with Laporta so Xavi performance is fully supported by Reporta so we will see how Xavi can take advantage of the transfer market opportunities to bring in quality players.

Barcelona may need a younger striker because Lewandowski is getting older and he is starting to lose his goal scoring prowess. perhaps preparing earlier is better as the replacement striker can learn more from lewandowski before he becomes xavi first choice after lewandokwski ends his contract with barcelona. Lamine Yamal also performed well but he has not yet been proven to be consistent in scoring goals, so Barcelona really needs to look for another sticker in the winter transfer window.

Barcelona is going through a difficult period. This mediocre streak started with a 1-2 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico and was followed by embarrassing Champions League defeats to Shakhtar Donetsk and Antwer. Of these, the defeat against Girona at the Nou Camp was the most damaging. I know that Xavi needs to find a replacement for Lewandowski. But finance is still a problem for this team. I appreciate Xavi's talent, but perhaps he was unlucky to become head coach during a time when Barcelona was facing many difficulties. Possibly their empire will collapse, Barcelona in the next few years will no longer be a formidable team in this tournament, just like the decline of MU in the Premier League.

Injuries and poor performance from the few players are surely hurting them badly as they are having problems to beat weaker sides as well in last game against Almeria which is at the bottom they score 3 goals and concede 2 which is clearly showing how things are going from 30 shots on goal they have just three goals which is also clearly indicating how the worst things are going around, and they are having no enough available sources to bring suitable replacements and start again with their best as they were doing in earl rounds of this week.

Xavi is surely one of the best man who is doing impressive work and not allowing thing gone from bad to worse but still now it's time for bringing fresh legs and quality which bring back golden days for them with know second half and knock out stage are also having pressure, and they need to overcome with this all otherwise we have them at the level of Chelsea and Manchester United as well.

They also had a great performance  against Barcelona. Girona have only lost against Real Madrid  this season.
