What is happening with Atletico Madrid?

I write right now in the Champions League thread about them, because i was having high hopes of seeing them winning against Inter Milan, but man they are playing horrible right now. And they are not longer so effective in defense like in the past, seems like they are suffering so much for not having Griezman in the starter 11.

They have been really messy lately, only getting a draw against Almeria and losing to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey, currently they're 1 goal behind even though time is running out. I don't think we can expect much for their second leg in the UCL, how can they beat Inter if they just play against Cadiz, they can fall behind and haven't even been able to score a goal until now.

I am not surprised because since the start of the season Atletico Madrid has not found its best performance, plus this team has not been able to maintain its consistency
For the second leg against Inter Milan in the Champions League, I don't think there are big hopes for Atletico Madrid because in fact the two teams are in inversely proportional form.

Juami got the ball and immediately took a fantastic strike which went straight inside the net to give his club a strong chance of winning the match at home.

Atletico Madrid is having problems with their midfield, and defence as they are too soft for the host Cadiz. This is the best performance that Cadiz have displayed since the beginning of this season. If Cadiz have played their 27 games like this, they wouldn't have been on the 18th position on the table. The match is in favor of the hosts they lead 2-0.

Honestly, it surprised me that Cadiz beat Atletico Madrid 2–0.Seriously,  I didn't expect this kind of result from Atletico today, but the truth is that they are playing well, but they are not just lucky to score; they are the team controlling the pitch, and they have also created some great chances, but they are not lucky to convert them into goals. Thier Champions League match against Inter Milan will still not be easy as well. Their performance may not be that good today, but at that Wednesday match against Inter Milan, I little believe they will not play as they played against Cadiz today. Atletico will be the team playing at home, and that will give them more advantage to appear so strong and do everything possible that day.

Atletico still has a chance to turn things around in the second leg of the UCL because they only lost by a narrow score in the first leg, but with their performance still fluctuating like this, it is very difficult to beat Inter who are performing optimally. After seeing the way they played when they were beaten by Cadiz, I was starting to be skeptical that Atletico would be able to make a comeback in the second leg of the UCL. If a team like Cadiz is able to score two goals against Atletico, it will be even easier for Inter Milan to knock Atletico out of the UCL.

However, usually teams like this will get very different results for the matches that will be played in the Champions League later. I don't know what exactly happening with Atletico Madrid unpredictable defeated by not favorite teams Cadiz, indeed they want focus for second legs match in Champion League facing Inter Milan few days later I don't think must loss against Cadiz and the current standings position not secure yet with top fourth or Champion League spot place. Not secure yet with Atletico Madrid will loss their top fourth position if can't improving performance in domestic league match and take three points every match left behind 5 points remaining with Athletic Bilbao and this week get weakness opponent teams facing Las Palmas.
I doubt Diego Simeone will success give the Champion League or fourth standings place for Atletico Madrid or not because they have left few points with Athletic Bilbao has motivate for participating in Champion League next season.

I completely missed this match and only saw the result, well it looks like Cadiz is going to try to stay in La Liga. I was always surprised when, towards the end of the season, teams from the bottom of the standings find the strength to show a completely different game and win matches that seemed hopeless for them.

In as much as I would admit to the fact that many people expected Barcelona to easily beat Mallorca, let's not forget that it was still this same Mallorca team that defeated Girona last weekend in the Spanish La Liga and that I think is another reason why no one should underestimate the power of the Mallorca team.

The club manager Xavi Hernandez is supposed to be praised for what he's been able to achieve with this team this season despite the fact that they've had many injury concerns and also the fact that the club's management failed to sign high profile players to the club in recent transfer windows because of the financial crises at the club.
But the bad news for Barcelona fans is that Xavi Hernandez will leave the club at the end of the season and in my own opinion, I think it'll be very difficult to find another manager that'll help Barcelona to remain in competition for trophies with this current team when Xavi Hernandez leaves the club in the summer

Barcelona in the past weeks haven't really been much of their usual performances and it's very much dangerous to their chances at both the UCL and the La Liga too. It's understable that injury setbacks occur in teams but it's only left for the team to be proactive to proferring lasting solutions that can be coped with pending when they're out of the situation. Their last league game didn't end favourably to them and it likely can affect their chances in the next game against Mallorca. The question remains if they will even be charged up for the game considering their situation and the mindset and advantage their opponent would possess ahead of the encounter.

Unfortunately, Barcelona seems to rely on him in order to get victory this days while the the senior players play poorly. Sadly, Barcelona is very proud about this. The kid score and the team became even more sluggish instead of protecting the lead and seek for more goals. Barcelona was just lucky it wasn't playing against top team. Gundogan was the worst player on that pitch, not because he missed penalty but his total performance was abysmal.

It is a terrible season for them because it is looking like they will not be able close the gap between them and Real Madrid. Their dissapointing draw against Granada in their home followed by their draw against Athletico Bibao are two events they lost four matches. Assuming they won those matches and secured those points, they would have been hopeful of turning things around as the gap would have reduced to a single point with Madrid having an outstanding match. Unless Real Madrid loses some series of matches, which I do not see happening, the best Barcelona can do is to focus on retaining the second position and the deploy all their force to the champions league.

I don't know about them winning inter Milan because they are one of the most informed team currently now in the whole world as  a whole because they have maintain a strong mind of playing and have really done well so I was quite sure that it would be hell for them to actually win inter Milan in their champions league draw but for the case of their league game that's a totally different case and I hope that greizman do start up and atleast make a difference in the club scoring power.

Express shocking results for Los Colchoneros this season. Atletico madrid will fight with everything within their reach to revived themselves and fall back to competitive race this season. At this point, all hope comes lost because the supporters embraced the winning for the club everything coming out differently, there's absolutely nothing new for the club. Atletico madrid are top club in Spain but they actually lack the big fights in the system. They're completely out of the race for the La Liga title though they will be fighting to secure UCL spot this season, atleasy that's among the target.

I still believe that Girona can return to consistency in the remaining matches in the future, the match against Osasuna is very important because it can bring them back to the runnerup position and displace Barcelona to third place. Acting as host can increase the confidence and mentality of the players, the fans will of course provide full support.

Luckily for Girona because ATM today suffered a surprising defeat to Cadiz, so the two still have a difference of 4 points, where if Girona managed to get an additional 3 points then the difference would be 7. Although there is no guarantee that they can secure 3 points, based on their reputation so far, Girona deserves to be the favorite to win over Osasuna in today's match.

Tickets to the Champions League are Girona biggest ambition this season, overtaking Madrid at the top of the standings is very difficult. Just finishing in the top four is enough for Girona, especially if they can finish in second place by beating Barcelona and ATM in points when the season ends.
