What I'd like to see added to the SP20's firmware is the ability to adjust the PSU efficiency multiplier. Using a Titanium rated PSU, I'm about 50-60w below the reported "wall watts" when measured with a kill-a-watt. No biggie, but it would be nice.

Another nice feature would be to multiply the "wall watts" number shown in the ASIC stats page with time to get total kWh consumed..

that is in the asic stats page (but cumulative kwh isnt)

yeah, you don't multiply .. you integrate (i.e. find the area under the consumption trend chart) over the desired time interval. There are numerical methods to do just that.

If that one goes hotter, the one behind it will drop completely out of the loop, eventually taking the whole loop down. The unit optimizes the freq for each chip so that it'll keep everything running. Don't be worried about one freq. Look at the whole unit.

The logic of scaling is very complicated and takes into account 4-5 different parameters for optimisation. Also every ASIC is different and has different top freq` even at same voltage.

Where do I buy your miners or when are you going to have more in stock? cause I have about like $1,000 to blow which I dont care about, but I wont go on ebay to buy these things so its like 200% overpriced.

Water cooled.  One long heatsink resides below the 4 modules. Making for easy replacement of modules.   
 
Efficiency, Not quite as good as some of the best numbers we have seen on the SP20 but we have more tweaking to do.  Our next rev board (in case Serial power doesn’t work) will have some more power improvements.  We hope to gain an additional 4% DC-DC efficiency at max current.

Management traffic goes out the RJ45 jacks on the front.
We will be integrating the board level management data with the ASIC data shortly.  This will allow us to power 24 cards(6 chassis) off of one management card.
 
This system is basically equivalent to 4 SP20 systems in one 1U tray.

You can still get good deals on ebay if you keep looking and stay patient. Mot of them are not 200% over priced.

Also on here sometimes you can find a good deal from a member, just beware of people that act like aholes, usually are.  

If you need an SP20, a member on here that I know is looking to move one with power supply at a great price. PM me and I'll

I have a bunch of SP20's and really like the system. Very efficient at 1.1GH/s speeds (Below 0.53), but able to kick it up to 1600 without problems
if you can (power and noise issues aside).

I just got one of my new S5's and even though it's smaller and lighter than the SP20, seems about 5-8% more efficient, it is LOuD. Also you c an not adjust the fan, which is a
negative IMO. With the SP20's I can run in my office at 5% fan speed @ 1100GH/s, 580-600watts and temps stay under 70C all across the board (Inside room temps).

Re the SP31, does anyone know of a way to apply voltage settings to all miners at the same time so that each UI doesn't have to be opened for every miner in the group?  Thanks.

So, faulty PCI-e power cable for LOOP[0] is out of the question ?

Like what you are doing, Sir.  Wish I could be in Austin.  Unfortunately, I have my grandfather's funeral to attend Saturday.  He lived 1.5 months shy of his 97th birthday.  He was a great man!

We are also working on a 3-4U air cooled version of the above tray.  Everything identical except with air cooled heat pipe heatsink below, and fans.

Is it worth trying for a 2U version? For rackmount datacenter centric kit like this noise isn't an issue so pack it full of fans

2U is also a great rack density effective form factor for air cooled rigs.

Otherwise the 1U would be my poison. Are the psu's going to be included and internal to the chassis?

From our chats with datacenter owners,  the over 3KW of heat that the SP35 puts out often is too much.   

We also want to future proof our cooling system. Going with more than 2U gives us extra headroom on cooling.  Who knows what the thermal density of the next ASIC will be?   3-4U also allows us 120mm fans which are more energy efficient and quieter.

Power supplies will be internal, included, and upgradeable via a new PDB(power distribution board). (see above photos)

Dayum.. although I do get the 120mm fan concept, not sure about quietness, its in a datacenter right? Who cares how loud it is.

For me, only way I would justify a 4U box would be if it was 2x as powerful as a 2U box.

But if you can get 6TH or more out of a watercooled 1U box then thats fine for me
