For anyone that doesn´t know:
As far as I can tell, grcooling is a form of immersion cooling, utilizing a "standard" 1-phase cooling liquid.
This is correct, we use an oil based dielectric coolant, which is much more cost effective than a two phase cooling approach. Two phase cooling fluids typically cost about $200 per gallon, while oil based liquid coolants are orders of magnitude cheaper. We can handle rack densities of over 100 KW per rack, with a cooling overhead energy use of about 3%. We can achieve this in any climate on the globe. If you can find me flat level ground, Available Power, communications and a roof, I can build you one of the most efficient, cost effective data centers on the planet. Please see below a link to a youtube video of what our cooling units typically look like in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IX9U2zaI_II would be happy to answer any questions. Cheers, Brandon .... So you're saying you're moving the fluid from rack to roof, cooling it to ambient and back to rack for less than 3KW per rack?

Well, I ordered myself an SP20. I've never had an issue with ROI in the past so happy to cough up some coin for an efficient miner.

The SP20 at the current price will not break even. Even if you adjust the diff down to 10%, it will take you 320 days to make $27. And that's just with today's rate. Don't forget that $200-$300 shipping price tag also on top. $1400.
If the price was even $800 you'd only max profit around $430. Wow, almost one bitcoin!
People, get OUT of the pre-order gamble.
Nothing is really priced anymore for the bitcoin starter, only the guy who already has hashing power and wants to add some more to what he has.
The SP20 weighs less than the SP3X and we were able to negotiate better shipping prices. Shipping price the SP20 depends on the destination but is not $200 and certainly not $300. I don't think this is the thread to discuss ROI but if you insist on doing that at least get the numbers right. Gadi

I don't think this is the thread to discuss ROI but if you insist on doing that at least get the numbers right. Gadi what is a fair shipping price to midwest usa more or less..trying to do the numbers on this ..but with say a corsair 1500i at $449.99 newegg.com and say $150 usd to ship and the $1095 price.that is about around maybe $1694.99 for a 1.7TH unit at 2100 watts .....man at my 15c/kwh it really really hurts ..and even figuring a 15% diff change(s) till the unit arrives on the doorstep ..say end of Oct....pretty steep loss compared to just buying BTC I"m all for de-centralizing minning and pushing back against big mining and centralization of mining. and would maybe even take a bit of a loss to contribute to such.. but again with my 15c/kwh ave usa elec price and 2100 watts and the dump of hash/mining farms in the next month of so ...can't seem to get the bird off the ground I'm sure you will have no issues selling the sp20 to people with less elec costs ..newbie miners etc...but too much to choke down vs buying coin AT THIS TIME trying to keep an open mind for products down the road...but essentially I can buy 1 1/2 more BTC then I could mine with costs on the SP20 ..so I'm stuck watching this nice toy from the sidelines er also from my calcs i'm down at least 1 1/2 BTC more or less with elec vs what I pay and with elec if I just mine as well ..a perfect storm of the asic god's telling me as much as I'd like this unit ....just can't get the numbers to fly on this or any other asic device again AT THIS TIME... so it goes.. Searing edit see from next post it is 1100 watts not 2100 watts...will re-do calcs it and post here....(duh thats why i post here you guys can correct me) anyway....1100watts means I would not have to get any power supply (certainly not the corsair 1500i) we will see how close to the mark I get again looking to just break even ...for the sake of fighting back against centralization of mining (in my meager way) kinda given up of late for making any more money then just buying coin...so looking at an sp20 from that point of view..now that I have my facts straight I will try this again and post (could be worse I could be working for NASA ..er...that would have been bad for someone) Searing

Huh ? Why would an experienced miner overpay when a newbie wouldn't ? Cause experienced miners usually have a small hoard of bitcoin they made from mining and if they have paid for all their hardware already they'll essentially be purchasing gear for free. I already cashed out the money I spent on bitcoin hardware. Everything I have left (minus small costs) is basically "free" money in my eyes. More or less an opinion really. Newbie bitcoiner's most likely won't have bitcoins. I hope I explained that correctly. how is profit "free"? profit = BTC = value If i made +20% ROI on my previous generation of mining equipment, it doesnt mean that I am more than willing to overpay 20% on my next hardware purchase. thats just silly. I buy hardware only if my calculations indicate it stands a good chance of making a positive return (as a result I have not purchased any hardware in over a month now, despite a growing stash of BTC that I would like to be re-investing by now) prices need to be <1BTC/TH/0.8kW without a PSU to be worthwhile purchase, +/- 10% based on the ease and stability of operation. (my SP10 and bitmain gear has almost zero downtime, unlike all the sh*t running on RPis that constantly wreck SD cards or have issues when there is a power blip) That is a great read on the market right now. Unless you are buying in BULK the sub 1 BTC/TH/0.8kW would be possible right? Be interesting to see what sort of volume you would need get that... shipping and PSUs included.

I have used for anminers the well known server computer PSU sold very very cheep and sometimes more durable than others. I bought them for 20 EUR each plus the cabling and modification did not cost more than 35 EUR each so you can do the same if they fail make another one so using two of them will be more than needed as they are 650-800w each.

AM tubes are about that price and to get bulk rates with them you only need to spend the equivalent of a single SP31. Edit: Canary's GB is offering single units so 0.8btc is the most you would for bulk rates.

Most miners either convert server PSUs (with/without breakout boards) or buy USED PSUs with a good efficiency rating.
Either way, you can probably get 1kW of PSU for around 70-100$.

i was previously using server supplies, but it meant either needing a $40 breakout board or about 45min of soldering, plus $10-15 worth of pci-e connectors (i sell 24" leads). After that they are often loud and refurbed ones sometimes crap out under high loads. Since then i made the switch to finding cheap 1000W+ GOLD ATX supplies in the new and used markets and have not looked back. The EVGA 1300W is a quiet, powerful PSU and if you are lucky it can be found used in the $140-160 range (new is $180-200 before taxes)

you can get a 1200W GOLD PSU for under $200, not sure why you would use the most expensive 1500W possible in your example

Also look for a mid range (used) 1000W+ PSU, not some crazy 1.5kW model which is naturally much higher priced per kW, as quantities are much lower.

You posted the same link to your shop a few pages back, so I'll post the same response required. 12V, even at extraordinarily high amperages, is only unsafe in very rare occurrences, and its otherwise very safe. We also will have 3d-printed cases shortly for those that want, and where do you get no warranty? We warranty both the PSU and the board. http://amasci.com/amateur/elsafe.html
