It looks like Nice started to lose some momentum. They got their second loss of the season a short time after they got their first one against Nantes. Le Havre and Nantes are both middle teams in the standings. I wasn't expecting them to be the ones to make Nice experience their first losses. These loss of points by Nice has been a big help for PSG to get away from them more as well. This gap can really be even higher by the end of this match week as well because Nice have a tough task to perform.

Lens are on the rise in the Ligue 1 recently. They are playing way better after starting the season badly first. I think they can make things really difficult for Nice despite playing away.

It is very possible that Lens will beat Nice in this week 17 meeting, and again create full points to continue to improve their position in the standings. For Nice, losing points means breaking their stride in overtaking PSG at the top of the standings, even though we know that in the end PSG dominance is too strong for any team in Ligue 1 to break.

I was very surprised by Lens when they were able to beat Arsenal who were at the top of their form, and I thought after that they could qualify for the last 16 of the UCL. But apparently Arsenal took revenge by beating them and creating a large goal margin. I think Lens could be a troublesome team for Nice, because their consistency in the previous few matches is very promising.

You brought up a few interesting points and one thing I would like to raise here is that you said Mbappe knows how much he can raise the price tag for his salary and whatever else is needed. Yes he knows that, but I think that players can also make a lot of money by showing to their fans that money at some point can become secondary. I understand when all of them want to become billionaires because who doesn't. But picking a club because it means something while leaving out the money factor can also gain new fans. Today, to be honest, I missed a lot of matches in all the leagues that I follow, unfortunately with the busy work I have to do, I can't predict the matches that are displayed in several leagues. speaking of Paris Saint-Germain, Enrique's squad beat Metz with a big score after drawing against Lille in the previous match. referring to the differences between these two teams, both in terms of ranking and performance in Lique 1. At the start of every season there is like this "lets see who will do what" period, and after a while every season it becomes clear that PSG will be champions, and the rest get their position and usually end up at that position. Maybe there will be few changes that's true, but usually it will end up where it is and nothing big will happen.

I think that's an issue and we need to focus on that. At least whatever the federation for French football should distribute the money a bit more equally to make other teams stronger, otherwise we are going to keep watching the same boring football just like these games and just like every game that will happen this season.

I reckon all European football organizations have similar principles on club expenditures. This mainly works in leagues like EPL, Serie, and La Liga where many club owners are willing to spend and contend with each other to get better players. We can take out PSG and Ligue will turn into a competitive league. But the champions and the other leading clubs will be average level when the time they are matched to the other leading clubs in the Champions League.

For Ligue to become competitive without lowering the expenditure of PSG is to invite multibillionaire investors to become owners of their clubs.

The game yesterday was interesting, also because Ethan Mbappe came into the game in minute 92, he is the brother of Kylian Mbappe. 2 brothers together in the game and that for Paris who will win the championship - a nice story. Ethan is only 16 years old and that was his first game in Ligue 1, his career is taking off. And Kylian now has 18 goals in 16 games, he show his brother how he make his goals and I cant wait to see if he gives him a nice pass for a goal in the future.

yep, I have the same opinion as you even though Clermont is just a weak team but I am very happy to see this team holding a draw several times or making it difficult for the opponent to score and for me actually if Clermont had quality midfielders and strikers it would definitely be very easy to win, leaving the relegation zone but even though he doesn't have much strength in the attack line at least his defenders are able to make the opponent panic and yesterday's match could have ended in a draw but unfortunately Maximiliano Caufriez made a very dangerous mistake so his defense became very bad losing the defender who initially always helped Clermont to can withstand attacks.

It seems like this season's matches have almost reached the halfway point of the season and Clermont still only has a chance to improve their team if they really want to stay in League 1, at least immediately improve the performance of their players.

It was a very surprising result when the team that was so favored to win actually lost and even though it was an away defeat, it felt inappropriate for Lille. They took the lead in the first half through an own goal from a Strasbourg player and vice versa Strasbourg also got the same advantage with an own goal from a Lille player. This made it 1-1 at half-time and I think Lille will correct their mistakes in the second half.

But it seems that even though Lille was in control of the match, they were the ones who conceded again and this time it was Junior Mwanga's turn to break through Lille's goal in the 76th minute. Lille had withdrawn several of their players to put new energy on the field but this did not produce any results and Lille had to lost with a narrow score of 2-1 in this match. Lille also failed to maintain their top 4 position and had to drop to 5th position after Brest managed to win a landslide win against Lorient.

I'm sure this match for Lyon will be easier than the last one. With 2 consecutive wins in the last two matches, Lyon started to get hopeful. They were at the bottom of the league. They are now up 2 places. If they are lucky in the Nantes match, they will win the match and continue to climb to the top. Frankly, I wasn't very hopeful about Lyon until the last 2 matches, but the last matches proved me wrong. I now believe that Lyon can surprise any team.

It happened, they were able to beat Nantes, as expected, the teams with a weak attack could not score many goals, but Lyon only needed one goal scored and a good defensive game to achieve such an important victory.
