Saint-Etienne, a club full of history and the most successful of the French League, the same fate as Genoa, had to suffer relegation from the premier league. The relegation of Saint-Etienne is certainly a dark record. Moreover, Saint-Etienne was the most successful club, before the oil money flowed to PSG. 
hopefully they will fight better in the second league next season so they can play again in the 1st league.

this is a disaster for Saint Etienne, the fans should have been a little wiser in dealing with this, I'm sure the players also don't want this to happen but in a match there must be someone who has to lose. The way fans express their disappointment is very wrong. I hope Saint Etienne can compete in the second tier next season.

St Etienne played really badly in this season and it should not be a surprise that they got relegated. I hope that they will be able to do better and come back strongly in league one as you said but obviously, it is not going to be easy at all. Auxerre has shown a really good commitment to getting promoted and the match which was decided against st Etienne was also a great show of their determination to get promoted. I think they might be able to do well. And St Etienne needs to earn their place back if they want to play in league one again.

It was actually really sad to see the way that they have been relegated this season. They obviously did not play well in the season but they did try their best to stay in league one and they played their heart out in the decider match. But they lost in the penalty shootout which is really unfortunate. I hope they will be able to come back strongly and do well in the next season. Hopefully, they will be able to play in league one soon enough.

Mbappe's extending his contract was not a very expected result to me truthfully. I was feeling very confident about seeing him at Real Madrid in this summer. But he chose to stay here and earn a lot more money. I can't blame him of course as he can do whatever he likes to do. And if the rumours about his new contract is true, I can even say that he did the right thing.    But I still hope to see Mbappe playing for Real Madrid in the future. And I believe it will definitely happen on some day in the future.

Auxerre used to be good in the past, picking first places until they failed last time, 10 years ago, and failed to return until this season. They have relatively young players so I assume they will try to add few other players to make the team more competitive. It is hard to compare a team in Ligue 2 with another in Ligue 1 but assuming that they are close to St-Etienne then things don't look promising without some changes.

Monaco can come across losing some of their important and talented players in this transfer window. Tchouameni seem like one of the candidates for now because there have been some big teams trying to sign him. There are really big teams like Real Madrid in this race. After a season or two, they generally have no choice other than letting that kind of players go.

This might make them get stuck in a difficult position to bring new players to the team for next season too. I mean the financial fair play rules etc.. If they don't have a serious problem with that, then good for them! Mbappe is the most crucial player for them in the end and I can't even imagine what they would do in case they lose him this earlier.

A player like mbappe is really needed in the team, his impact in the team will be hardly replace, he is a goal machine and a rare gem on the pitch. Perhaps Realmadrid was a dream team for mbappe, but PSG offered him such a huge salary and power in the club, that makes him extended a long lasting contract in the team, and he has the power to control and decide what happened in the team.
