Newcastle have gone from the bottom of the standings to the top 4 in just one season.... And they didn't have any superstars in the squad... That was a huge surprise from that team for me..... I would never have thought that this is possible, especially in the EPL where there are so many good clubs.... So in the Champions League there could be a surprise too..... I will hope so...

I must admit that I thought that as soon as the Arab capital bought the club, they would immediately make dozens of transfers. However, they have not been greedy in terms of transfers and have made the right decisions to build a great skeleton of a team. They are following the Manchester City model. I think if they are as successful as Manchester City, they will dominate the Premier League together for many years. However, I would still like to see them sign a star like Mbappe or Neymar this season. That kind of signing could suddenly raise the level of the team and I think they need a bit of that.

Friendly matches are for the purpose of playing the squad, so you shouldn't judge Andre Onana so harshly. Although it's still unclear why Manchester didn't want to keep De Hea as at least a second goalkeeper, because he could have been a good insurance for Andre Onana if he had lapses.

Age allows De Hea to play another year or two at the highest level, so nothing but Ten Haga's dislike can explain not extending De Hea's contract, especially against the backdrop of Onana's performance and the big money they paid for him.

Agree with you, we shouldn't directly compare performances with De Gea because this is still a friendly match. Actually, the MU squad is quite capable, it's just that many players are ambitious and selfish, the desire to score goals can be seen in pre-season matches. They should be able to reflect on Man City, teamwork tends to be more solid and has depth on all fronts.

For Man United this season, hopefully Mason Mount and Onana's performance can quickly adapt to Man United, hopefully Hojlund can show his class in the EPL this season, but considering he's still 19 years old. Basically almost all coaches want to reach that level but this time Guardiola has the chance to be the first to do just that, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Guardiola wins another title this season he's got the ability and a great squad it's just that the struggle this season will be more difficult because their competitors are also making improvements to their respective squads. Paul Pogba at least wasn't a total failure, yet he doesn't deserve the amount of money spent on him. Manchester United don't have a problem about risking their money for what they feel as a good player.

Watching both teams go head to head about 3 times last season, it only went to the Citizens without the Gunners getting any win, would that give Arteta men a different fighting spirit today to make the Citizens pay for all the winning of last year? Pep is still wanna try to make a record in EPL. Manchester city has the biggest potential to win EPL for the 4 times in a row. I think that pep is also targeting other treble winners. It will become the biggest record by repeating treble winners two times.
Guendogan is leaving City, but Pep has a new midfielder to take his place.. Kovacic gonna play a very important role in manchester city. My wish is for Kovacic to achieve his fourth UCL trophy while representing Manchester City. Kovacic is always whoing consistent performance.
I can't even wait for the debut from gvardiol with manchester city. Im sure that city gonna have the best defensive line in the world. Kyle walker is still staying at manchester city. This is also boosting the mentality of the players.

Exactly. De Gea was way younger when he transferred to United from Atletico to replace the legendary Edwin van der Sar. You can't use the lack of experience excuse on Onana either since he got enough already for professional footballers's standard so his mistakes is mostly due to his poor decision making and overall skills as a goalkeeper.

Manchester united will suffer major setbacks this new season, it's just a matter of time before everything stand appropriate for the club. The new goalkeeper, Andre Onana been criticized by fans for his poor performance in friendly games. The Cameroonian have good footings on the ball and always outside his box, so conceding far away shots would be achievable by his opponents. United former goalkeeper, David de Gea had his own blunders, but he still made good performance at Old Trafford. Then look at the Andre Onana, already opening his weaknesses and the league haven't started, let's see how everything will plan out.

@swogerino people are used to the safe and steady De Gea hence I can understand why they’re so frustrated to see a goal keeper take such huge risks but from what I seen I feel that he’ll only improve the team and while his risks may put the team in danger at time’s I yet feel that Ten Hag has taken a calculated risk by signing him. It is interesting for me to see how people are tendering Onana these days after he joined Manchester United to wear the De Gea's shirt in the next season. Onana is not a young goalkeeper and I'm sure they did;t buy this goalkeeper because of being young because as a 27-year-old player, he can't considered young. On the other hand, just like any other goalkeeper, he sometimes makes mistakes to make his team even lose the whole game. Since he joined because of Ten Hag, I think for any mistake he makes in Macnshter United, Ten Hag will be under more pressure.

I saw Onana's last game. I think Man United will lose because they lost first. Ten Hag's decision is a risk he must accept. Ten Hag chose what became his football philosophy. At the moment Man United are building on Ten Hag's philosophy, so we have to respect that. But I have concerns about Onana who might later come under pressure because of the possibility of failure. I saw yesterday's process started from a defender pasing error. So if Ten Hag seems to have to study hard not to make mistakes when they build up attacks.  It was very fatal when Onana came out of the penalty box.

Burnley did performed very well in the EFL Championship last season and getting their promotion to play in this upcoming English Premier League season was certainly well deserved. I think Burnley might be able to create a few surprising results against big favorites teams in this upcoming season especially when they are playing at their home stadium with the support of their home fans, I guess they stand the best chances to survive relegation out of the 3 newly promoted teams to the English Premier League.

I did admire the hardwork Burnley put forth to qualify for the next season’s premier league. I hope they continue to exert that same energy when the season kicks off. Most times relegated teams don’t always get to stay long in the premier league when they newly get promoted, they always go back being relegated again. I hope this won’t be the case of Burnley since they’ve experience of the premier league before now.

It was really interesting to see them fight till the end and somehow securing their place in the English Premier League. Honestly, I do not have big expectations from them to be honest. I think they are going to finish in the mid table at best. I honestly think it is going to be a good performance from them if they can somehow avoid relegation. Yes, I do believe that they have a great chance to avoid relegation. But certainly it is not going to be easy. The performance from Burnley was not good in the last season. I hope that they will be able to improve and at least finish 2/3 spot above the relegation zone.

Manchester United have finally regained their sense of victory after beating Lens. Their fans w tense moments when the Old Trafford team let the opponent take the lead after Andre Onana's mistake. He is too subjective in this situation, and this is a lesson to remind him before the club enters the season. Technically, this goal is also partly responsible for Manchester United defenders. But Onana admitted a personal mistake in this goal. It's incredible what he did. They need to give him more time to prove the level of the top goalkeeper in Europe.

In my opinion, Andre Onana is the right option, which was made by Ten Hag after the departure of De Gea, Onana is a modern talent who can be said to be young for a goalkeeper. Then we can see that Andre Onana had a brilliant career while at Ajax, he became a goalkeeper who made a significant contribution in winning three trophies there and previously he had worked with Ten Hag. So I think with his arrival now Manchester United have a very good new ammunition in goalkeeping position, I can't wait to see how great he is in the Premier League next season and I think with his experience with Ten Hag. I think Onana will have no problem adapting to playing at Manchester United.

Goalkeeper don't have to be young, most of world star goalkeepers are mature, only few exception e.g. De Gea, Neuer etc.

And what is security guard? Onana is a goalkeeper who play in professional football scene, he's not someone who work as a security in Ajax and Inter.

Goalkeeper is an independent role, there's no situation a goalkeeper can't fit in someone club, it mean he's a bad goalkeeper and he need to train harder.

Arsenal vs City up ahead in Community Shield fixture in just less than 30 mins and strong lineup from both sides. Man City kinda taking it a slightly easy but they still have mostly strong players. Kai Havertz starting as Jesus is injured but Kai Havertz is also good as false 9 option. Really excited to see which sides dominates in terms of possession because both sides are kinda have similar kind of play style. Manchester united won the pre-season match 3-1 against Lens. In this match, the only thing that was very surprising came from Andre Onana's blunder who was too advanced so that the Lens player took advantage of the opportunity to score a goal from the middle of the field.
