They had a really fantastic transfer last season, I think Pochetino wants to start again by selling some players he doesn't need. The first game is difficult to predict, but I think I would pick Liverpool to win.

The first week of action we were immediately presented with a big match between Chelsea and Liverpool, it was a good opening because after we were off we were immediately presented with a match that brought together 2 big clubs.

I wonder why Guardiola didn't prefer Ederson for this game. Maybe he wasn't caring about this title that much but then I think he would have made a bigger rotation. Their opponent was Arsenal in the end so he should have started this game with all of their main players including the goalkeeper.

In that case this might have even affected the direction of this game much more. Ederson could have performed much better on penalty shoot-outs.

By the way, starting this season in the Premier League, stoppage time will increase in order to combat time wasting, so I can assume that this is not the biggest stoppage time that we will see in the season.

I like this change. I really find it annoying to see those players that would lay or sit on the ground while trying to waste the time on purpose.

Some players like MU's Varane have already expressed their dissenting opinion on this which is understandable. The increased playing minutes may or may not be harmful to them but I think the intention of this new rule outweighs that.

Any changes have pros and cons, but these changes do not change the essence of the confrontation much - even if the opponent is dragging out the time for 90 minutes, it is only your problem that you could not win. The endless addition of time to the main time of the game will be both annoying and exhausting, because even 10 minutes is more than 10% of the main time. Or if you look differently, then this is 33% of the duration of the added halves (which are played rarely and now they will almost always, albeit partially).

Manchester City have lost some important players this transfer window and guardiola is yet to find replacement maybe that was why he lost the match and it must have affected the team in the pre season games as well but I believe guardiola have plans and does not intend to start the league this way.

They have UEFA Super Cup next week vs Sevilla and hopefully they can bring it home at least..

I hope they can win as well though i have no doubt in Guardiola to win sevilla next week. Since he just won his first champions league for the club it will be incredible to win the super cup as well and make history before leaving the club.

I had told my friend that the cup final between Manchester City and Arsenal was not going to be as they thought.
Almost all of them believe that Manchester City will beat Arsenal even from the first half to the second half.

Arsenal might be very confident, but I doubt that's why they won. They came fresh just like Manchester city and we know that it was due to fatigue and injury score that made the gunners slip in the title race last season.

I think the big question for me is what kind of club would be interested in signing Maguire. Because after all, during Maguire was playing at Manchester United, Maguire was famous for the mistakes and or blunders he often made. Because of that, I'm not sure there are any clubs out there who would be interested or willing to high pay Maguire. So, instead of selling him, I also think it will be difficult for Manchester United to get a club which interested in including Maguire in their squad. If that happens, then it looks like Maguire will experience a difficult period in his career like Loris Karius, because the mistakes and or blunders that have occurred have ruined their careers.

Manchester City have lost three seasons in a row in the Community Shield, previously against Leicester City, Liverpool and this year against Arsenal. But the ending is usually Man City who wins the EPL, in the EPL Man City always wins. Especially now that there is Josko Gvardiol, Man City's defense is getting stronger.

However, it must be admitted that the Man City midfield players lacked enthusiasm when playing against Arsenal. There is no agile right winger like Mahrez which makes Arsenal's defense difficult, let alone supplying the ball from the midfield which Gundogan usually does. Arsenal on the other hand, really need this trophy, because this year they have not won any championship trophies. Appreciation should be given to Arteta squad, which is able to offset the pressure from Man City. Hopefully they can break Man City dominance next season, with the squad's current mentality.

The both teams played excellently, Arsenal went on bar with Manchester City, they match them on possession and even Chances created, so penalty was actually the best thing to settle it because both teams lack that clinical player up front. Halaand was kept quiet by the impressive Saliba and Timber, this combination will definitely be a joy to watch. Harvetz on the other hand was just not Sharp or is still lacking confident in front of goal and I think Arteta needs Jesus back. Other thing again is Arsenal needs a striker, it doesn’t have to be an expensive one, just go to the lower leagues and get there strikers. This game also showed that City without De Bruyne are just no where near there best, if he get injured then Pep might be in for a big blow.

Immediately the game went to penalties, I was having a great feeling it’s Arsenal’s, not because they were the team on high morale but because City have suffered in the past with taking penalties. Gundogan and Mahrez were the best penalty takers in the team and they are no longer in the club so Pep needs to decide a new penalty taker and it’s definitely should not be De Bruyne. Probably Silva or Foden.

Personal I feel Maguire needs to leave to another team. No matter how hard you want to fight for your place you need support from the team and the Fans. Yesterday he did an error that lead to the goal scored by Bilbao, although covered up for it with an assist. But the fans still booed him. West Ham is actually a great club to get your Career back on track and also to reduce the media attention for now. West Ham are genuinely interested in both him and McTominay, with West Ham submitting a bid of 30m for each. I think that’s a fair deal to united. Although McTominay’s bid needs to be close to 40m but it is still a good deal.

In the end some bettors lost their money in this match because I don't think many favored Arsenal for this Community Shield final but indeed a long 11 minutes of extra time destroyed Manchester City's dream of getting a trophy that they haven't gotten for a long time.

Now indeed the opponent Sevilla is clearly worth waiting for how Manchester City finish the task. Sevilla are sometimes surprising if you look at their performance last season but h2h in the last 2 matches Manchester City excelled quite a lot in terms of dominance.



I will personally stay on Manchester City in this match and hopefully for the UEFA Super Cup match my bet will run smoothly.

Tottenham is unlikely to be a contender, as for Manchester United and Chelsea, it is not clear how ready they are to compete with City, especially Chelsea, because Pochettino is creating a new team and we do not know what they will be capable of. I think if Klopp gets off to a good start then Liverpool will be able to get good results because if they are somewhere in the middle of the table again they will be looking for a new manager.
