Honestly I was expecting Manchester City to win this Community Shield title one way or another. I waited for a good competition at the beginning of the season of course. Because this was the first official game for both teams so I didn't expect so many goals. We were about to find out which side was readier than the other one.

There was plenty of competition on the pitch though despite Manchester City attacking more, Arsenal's goalkeeper could easily fend off attacks. The first half of the game until half time was a tight battle between the two teams although Arsenal had one less attack. After Manchester City scored a goal in extra time Arsenal had a chance and capitalized on it to draw 1-1 and I couldn't keep my cool at the penalty shootout. Because the number of penalty misses is incomparable but Arsenal's players have not missed a single penalty. So the Arsenal players were quite experienced and calm.

I remember some people were comparing De Gea and Onana which showed us that Onana had a better performance in Serie A however I think the situation in these two leagues is not the same and Onana had a good performance there is a chance to have a weaker performance in Premier League because I saw Premier League for more and better strikers and more goals in the games while in Serie A the playing style is not the same with Premier League.

We can't judge Onana's performance at the moment because he plays for Manchester United in the Premier League In the new season, we can not judge whether Onana can be better than De Gea or not.
But from several pre-season matches, Onana actually did appear so bad not and he seems to be able to provide a competitive game for Manchester United in the future.

If you say that Onana's game in Serie A is clearly very different, considering that the Premier League is filled with big, strong clubs with attacking players for each club, it is very sharp.

The loss of Manchester City has caused a lot of people to suffer financial losses. My guess if so many people were taking manchester city to win the game but the goal from trossard was destroying the hope to multiple their bucks instantly.
I have been watching how frustrated my friend caused by he was going all in manchester city. It's unimaginable to see a lucky goal from trossard. Only a few minutes away before the game end but trossard was surprisingly making a shoot that was bouncing to the different direction.
Man City's goalkeeper was ready to block the shot, but the ball's direction changed dramatically after hitting a City defender, which is bad. Many people were almost winning the game by picking city.
Trossard's lucky shoot was destroying their hope to multiple their money easily through this game. It's unimaginable shoot for me. I think trossard was panickely shooting it before the end of game.
It's an enormous gamble taken by him.

I don't understand why 11 minutes was added... Some strange match... City should have won, but on 101 minutes Arsenal scored a goal... For me there is a lot of confusion in this game... Arsenal of course also played well, but somehow strange they scored a goal in 11 extra minutes...

Apparently the referees were advised to add as they did at the World Cup for any time drags so that players would not fake at the end of the match and stall for time. I remember I think they added 13 minutes at the World Cup, so apparently they will do the same in the English league.
I think it was originally 8 minutes, but then players collided heads and so they had to add more.

Manchester City played well, just unlucky. Probably should have changed Haaland earlier, it just wasn't his day. De Bruyne came on as a substitute and gave a goal, but missed in the penalty shootout.

Victory was almost certain at the hands of Manchester City but surprisingly Leandro Trossard scored an injury time equalizer to draw the score. After that, Pep Guardiola's face looked annoyed because his team had to concede in the last minute, but it seems like Manchester City's fate to win the community shield title doesn't always go smoothly and they have to accept the fact that they have never won in a row in the last 3 seasons in this competition.

Anyway, congratulations for Arsenal's first title this season and hope there will be more titles they can get later, especially the EPL title which they lost last season.

Alvarez playing as attacking midfielder, Ederson wasn't the goalkeeper, and midfielder was preferred than the striker during penalty stage. I don't see any reason why Pep did this, he likes to troll in the big match.

Pep Guardiola losing to his former boy, Mikel Arteta for the very first time, more like celebrating their victory. No one expected the winning outcome of Arsenal, they all thought as usual, Arsenal will struggle until they conceded and give up, but reversed was the whole scenario, they fight back and claimed their triumphed in the final. Manchester losing to Arsenal on penalty shootouts doesn't bother me, what baffles me is that, the gunners have the strength to hold city down full time draw. That implies that Arsenal are not holding back, they put in everything they got, and deserved the trophy.

I saw that the City players thought a 1-0 goal could win the match and underestimated the Arsenal players so that the City players performance weakened in the second half and Haaland was Man City mainstay player. I felt very disappointed in this match as there was no contribution whatsoever and also in the defensive line is quite bad at the start of the season. I hope Guardiola has to be tough with his players to train him consistently because it was a very bad game for Man City.

I'm also happy about Arsenal's win of today and I wished they had won the Premiere League last season but today's win for me was also a bit of a mistake by Guardiola. He probably underestimated Arsenal because in a game like this Bruyne has to be in the starting line-up and not come on as a substitute in the 64th minute. 10 minutes after being substituted on, he immediately made the assist for the goal.

Since Arsenal's squad standard is inferior to that of Manchester City's, despite the fact that Arsenal recruited several new players to the team, I didn't anticipate that they would be able to win the Community Shield today. In fact, I am relieved that they did. De Bruyne wasn't given the opportunity to start because, in my opinion, Guardiola underrated Arsenal. I don't even expect Arteta to use Kai Havertz to top strike because he doesn't have the ability to play that position as well as Nketiah or Trossard. Since I witnessed Kai Havertz's weak striking performances in Chelsea. But maybe he is performing better on the training ground, which is why Arteta is still giving him that much opportunity. Seriously, Kai Havertz performed poorly in that striking position today. I also don't expect  him to stay in the game for a long time today; he was expected to sub in the first half.

Manchester City won Arsenal in all rounds in their previous meeting, so yesterday game, everyone thought it would be the usual game, not knowing that Arsenal have planned and made their positions stands. Mikel Arteta men defended with everything they got left, making the game look look more tense in the first half, City dominated and kept the pressure on, while Gunners absolved everything. A good start for Arsenal to welcome the 2023/2024 Premier League season by defeating Manchester City in the 2023 Community Shield. As a fan, I was quite amused by the Gunners' victory.

In fact, the City players have worked so well. within 25-30 minutes of the first half, City really took control of the game and put a lot of pressure on Arsenal's players. but after that, Arteta's squad was able to rise from the pressure put on by Manchester City. but it cannot be denied, if Cole Palmer's goal is really very cool. Yes, they really want to embrace the title but Arsenal really prepared well for the match that made the match difficult for Manchester city to score single goal in the first half, despite the highest ball possession they had through out the 45 minutes. Arsenal came with full force in the second half to equalized the goal 1-1, and made their defensive more stronger for Manchester city strikers not to score another goal than to end up in a penalty shoot out which is the hope of Arsenal. I don't think, this community shield title Arsenal embraced will discourage Manchester city coach not to focus on the premier league title and other titles, because he knew where the fault came from and he will definitely put an end to it before their next match.

Trossard's goal made the Manchester City fans' enthusiasm disappear again and the result was an equalizing goal at 1-1 which was the turning point for Arsenal to be able to beat Man. City.
Manchester City's game is not bad if judged as a whole. But the role of the Arsenal defender who is promising enough to make Manchester City's attack not as usual.

Haaland became Manchester City's mainstay player to trouble the defense which failed to carry out its duties properly in the match. Haaland's statistics for 64 minutes are really bad as an attacker. It was recorded that not a single shot was released and other statistics such as successful dribbles were also 0% before being replaced by Palmer.

The addition extra time that was given was 8 minutes, so after spending like 5 minutes out of the 8 minutes additional time that was given, their was a collision between Manchester City player and Arsenal player which they wasted fee minutes of their time, i think the time wasted was added to the 8 minutes and that was why the referee didn’t blow the final whistle early, if they didn’t waste that time, am sure he will have blown the whistle early and the goal scored by Arsenal won’t have happen.

Recently, referees in football have started to add a lot of extra minutes... Even 8 minutes is a lot, especially 11 minutes... I noticed that they started to do that a lot at the last World Cup... Probably now it will become popular in the regular leagues... Usually the referee would add 5 minutes if there were long delays in the game...

Even Manchester City underestimated Arsenal too much by not using some of its core players in this final match and it seems that Pep Guardiola is so sure that even with the existing squad he can beat Arsenal easily. But if we look at Manchester City, it's still struggling and couldn't even score a single goal in the first half. If Manchester City had been serious from the start by including all of their core squad since the first half, Arsenal might have lost from the early minutes with a difference of 2 to 3 goals.

But we also can't force this because the EPL competition will start soon and they already won the treble winner last season so if they bet using the main squad, the possibility of player injury is what Pep Guardiola is most afraid of and it's not worth what they focus on next season.

Arsenal showed real confidence and determination against Man City today. They didn't let fear or feeling complex consumed them. Leandro Trossard's late equalizer brought hope, and then they won 4-1 in the penalty shootout. While it might not be a major trophy, it surely boosts their spirits for the upcoming season.
