What's more interesting is that both of these clubs performed well in their pre-season matches. Even Newcastle in 7 matches unbeaten in pre-season. They won 5 times and 2 draws. Likewise, Aston Villa also showed an extraordinary game in pre-season. Aston Villa 3 wins and 3 draws in pre-season. But because this match took place at home to Newcastle, I'm pretty sure the hosts will win this match again.

Looking at the statistics of the last five matches they played against each other, it looks like a 50/50 game because everybody stands a chance of winning the match because all the teams are well prepared and no team will want to lose their Premier League opening match.

Moreover, looking at the individual teams last matches against other teams, both of them won three and drew two, which signifies that they are of the same capacity; therefore, this match will be a tough one because everyone can win the game.

If I place a bet on this game, I will predict that all teams should score because I am expecting goals from both teams.

Newcastle was good last season, I think it would be a good match to favour Newcastle better, but I will not underestimate Aston Villa for now. My favorite today is just still Arsenal. But also thinking Newcastle would win.

Arsenal - Nottingham is going to be the first game today. I'm very curious about Arsenal's new season performance. They had a wonderful season the last time as you remember. I hope to see them in a title challenge again. They have made quite nice transfers this summer and spent a lot of money as I said before.

After winning Community Shield trophy their confidence level is very high, and they can start their campaign with bang against last season struggling side Nottingham Forest with most chances I am expecting nearly 3 or 4 goals from them in this match because recently we have very good aggressive approach from them which is surely helping them for having good results and this could be another good opportunity for them to have another good start in this season.

I knew from the start that Manchester city were going to win this game,and for those people that followed my prediction for this first week of opening,I am quite sure that they will definitely win it because all the games I gave are 75 percent sure.Manchester city are the first teams to win in this opening week and they will actually be topping the table.

With Haaland I don’t think they have anything to worry about because he will keep giving them goals just as he did last season. It’s too early to predict if this season will be an exception or not, they always have a higher chance of winning the league than everyone but we cannot be so sure about that because of how all teams are getting reinforcements and adding players to their existing squad and we can’t say the same about manchester city since they haven’t added much players yet. This season will be hot and competitive i can sense it already, Chelsea’s transfer this season is something else and their is a positive energy from them from what i saw in their preseason games that’s why i am expecting a better performance from them this season.

Crystal Palace have improved a lot in their performance ever since Roy Hodgson took over the team as the manager, they will be playing against a newly promoted team Sheffield United today and I think they should be able to win this match at the final whistle and claim all 3 points in their first match for this new season.

Villa has been on an awesome form in the friendlies by winning many of those matches no matter that most of those games were against much weaker teams than Newcastle.This should show us to bet with caution as I don't think it will be an easy win for Newcastle despite me predicting a 2-1 win for them today.The odd of 1.7 is a low one for Newcastle considering that this is the first game of the new season normally the odd should have been at 1.90 as a bare minimum and even 2 would be a nice one,in the first game of the season no one has enough data and info to judge if the odd is good or bad,for me is not good,it is in the low side.

I already have bet on Newcastle to win the game, will be a very interesting to watch based on the outcome of their last match which ended in a 3:3 draw, so personally, i think both team are going to take there coming game personally, it wont be about this game being their first in this 2023/2024 premier league, it will be more of this both team trying to prove that they are better than the other, that is team supremacy, its going to be a big battle, and also not forgetting that the beginning results sometime determine what the end may likely be like,
I am not underestimating the Aston villa team, but i think as long as passed records is concerned, New castle is better, stronger and have more chances of winning, else, the game may likely end in a goalless draw, But then again, lets see what happens.

Well the opening game is always tricky, I expect Manchester City to win, maybe with 2 goals and Erling Haaland to score too, I don't think he will score hattrick but maybe a goal or two.

At the end Manchester City won with 3 goals to 0 vs Burnley in an away home. As a first match that was a good result and Erling Haaland scored 2 goals not a hattrick as some expected in the previous posts

Haaland's performance was very nice in yesterday's match. Haaland was among the players who contributed to the success of Manchester City in yesterday's match. The early goal that he scored within 4 minutes when the match started affected Burnley's performance. Haaland wanted to score a hat trick yesterday, but he wasn't opportune. If De Bruyne hadn't gone off injured in yesterday's match, the match would have been more interesting because I knew he would score or provide more assists for Haaland.

Well, Arsenal just had their first goal in less than 30 minutes in the first half, its an impressive play and goal altogether, I am very happy already, but then, I don't want to get my hopes too high just yet, as there is still a very high chances that Nottingham forest will try to equalize before the first half is over, I am personally expecting Arsenal to seal their first half win with a second goal, that can give us some confidence I believe, if they are able to score at least, two goals in this first half while not allowing Nottingham to respond, the second half could be an easy play for them since they can decide to go into defensive mode, while still looking for more opportunities to score..

Anyways, this is just me imagining things here, I sure hope they get a second goal before the first half is over though.

I was surprised to see Partey start in RB, but later on I noticed that he often drifted into his DMF position when there was a chance to, making Ben White move from the CB position back to the RB where he can make overlapping runs for Saka. Nottingham forest Coach will bring Taiwo Awoniyi in during the second half, he will be able to put some pressure on Saliba in that position. Arsenal controlled the first half well, they will try to control the second as well.

De Bruyne is not physically like last season and needs to be rotated, hopefully this season or next season get Florian Wirtz who has a similar playing style.
