It would be really a great achievement for Ronaldo to end his national career by winning a World Cup indeed. But I just think that Portugal are a sad case about that for now. During the qualifiers phase, I didn't like Portugal's performance at all. They don't seem to be one of the favourites for this title. However there is no rule like the favourite teams always win of course. But my favourite team for this title are absolutely Brazil. They have been incredible so far. I don't see any European team better than them for now. France might be the closest.

In my opinion, Fernando Santos is one of the smartest modern national team coaches. With a team that is not the strongest in terms of composition, he won two titles (the European Championship and the League of Nations) and consistently shows good results. He prefers "reliable" game schemes and this is quite understandable - Portugal beats "light" opponents one way or another, but the team's main competitors are much stronger and you have to use tactical tricks to beat them. I don't understand how you can blame him for bad style of play. He chooses his formation for each match with a strong opponent individually and mostly he succeeds. But we cannot demand that he consistently beat France, Brazil, Germany, etc.

But I'm not expecting him to always beat France, Brazil or Germany. If I lose against these countries I will understand and accept naturally.

But for the range of players that Portugal has, it cannot be accepted that they lose with Serbia or draw with the Republic of Ireland. It's not that these teams don't have quality, of course they do. But the Portuguese team is frankly better.

In my opinion, Portugal has a good win rate against weak and medium teams. I would want to add Brazil and Argentina to the most likely favorites which are Spain, Germany and France. I think Brazil and Argentina has that hunger to win

I think that they will win the first two games and play the third in economy mode (a draw is possible). I agree with you that comparing the 2002 Brazil squad really was the golden generation at that time, in 2002 Brazil did have a deadly striker.
But this year may rely solely on Neymar, whose performance is on the decline with PSG. Although this year's Brazil squad is not as good
as 2002's, I think there is still a chance for Brazil to win the trophy. Because overall the Brazil squad also has pretty good players in their
respective clubs, at least we will assess Brazil's performance when playing in the group phase. If Brazil proves to be able to win Group G,

It's quite funny how some club fans would hype and over hype thier favourite clubs with great hope that hey would go well, but at the end of match you would see them in different positions and mood.
You have said something here, anything can happen we just have to keep calm and watch what is going on while the match is in progress.
Too much faith, hope and determination my fans makes them end up in a different situation all together.
