Even if some players are replaced by younger generation, since the system is there already and everyone is used to it, that rarely becomes a problem. Other national teams usually do not have that kind of chemistry in general.

The fact that Asian teams (for example, South Korea) have shown phenomenal progress in the last 20 years is undeniable, but everything is known in comparison and Europe also did not stand still at this time. Therefore, even with the increase in the level of teams from this region, the actual gap in the class has not changed much, it seems to me. In such a short tournament like the World Cup anything can happen, and while it is obvious that both Germany and Spain should be the favorites to move to the next round we can always see a surprise and see one of them being eliminated on the group stage.

After all Japan does not need to even beat them, as long as they can get a draw on their games against Germany and Spain and they win their remaining game then that could be more than enough to get them to the next round, as long as on the game between Germany and Spain one of them beats the other.
