Completely agreed with this. I don't even remember when was the last time England managed to win a world cup, or even the Euro Cup. And I still remember what happened during Euro 2020. They asked some of their inexperienced players (Jadon Sancho, Bukayo Saka.etc) to take the penalty kicks and they lost as a result of that. And when their fans complained, the management shut them up by labeling all of them as racists. And look at their performance during Qatar 2022. They were one of the favorites to win the trophy, before getting kicked out of the competition by France. 

I remember that scandal and there were really a lot of racist comments (and if I remember correctly, after that, social media laws were tightened in England - this is really bad because it infringes on freedom of speech).
In general, this position of England (as well as many other teams) is due to the fact that there are very few titles and they simply cannot physically be enough for all good teams. FIFA "corrects" the situation by inventing new shitty competitions.

in group C, England is currently leading with 6 points while Italy is in 2nd place with 3 points, it is very likely that England will qualify from the qualifying round but they will have difficulty when they are in the quarter-finals or semifinals

Having good players alone can't guarantee anything. If the coach and management doesn't know how to use these players, then all the talent will be left unused. What was the point in asking the inexperienced players to take penalty kicks during the Euro 2020 finals? There were enough experienced players who were available. When the fans questioned this, rather than giving them proper replies, the management just called all of them as racist and xenophobic. This sort of arrogance is the reason why England never win major trophies.

But this is a good point: there are only so many titles to be distributed and many more teams who in theory would have the strength to win them. I mean imagine when two countries , or even three for this matter, have a golden era. Like the best Spain we have ever seen and the best France we have ever seen and some other national team. Of those three, only one has the chance to actually win a title all two years. It's tough because nobody will ever remember a 2nd place in those tournaments, at least not when you were one of the favorites. It is a different story when you become 3rd as an underdog.

But back to the example, when only one team can win, is it then fair to judge that the other two golden eras are loser teams? I don't think so. Losing against France is ok, which team in the world would beat France guaranteed? Sometimes there is no just winner. Take the finals when there were penalty shootouts. There is nothing more painful than a penalty shootout in a final because it is about being remembered as a loser or as a winner, but often times both teams actually deserved it. And then a 50/50 decision by the goalkeeper decides about it. Striker shoots left, goalie jumps right, goal.

The thrill for the audience is amazing of course, but for the players it is the worst if they leave the pitch as losers even though they fought their way through the whole tournament and ended up losing a penalty shootout perhaps even after a world class game in the final.

France definitely seems to be the best European side at this point. Their performance during Qatar 2022 was exceptional, before going down against a very strong Argentina in the final. And remember that they were without many of their key players, including Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema. The advantage with France is that they have got several younger players in their squad who can replace the senior players in case they get injured. I don't think that any of the other teams (including England) has this advantage right now.

@Sithara007 France definitely have one of the best squad, but I won’t say that they’ll lift the trophy without much effort because they’ll need their star player’s to be injury free and only then will they have any chance of winning this tournament.

Also if Kane moves to Manchester United then he and Rashford could develop a strong bond, and this could be used by Southgate to help England win this tournament thus you see it’s too soon to pick a winner as there’re multiple scenarios which can play out leading to the start of this tournament.

French national team is the golden generation for now where the composition of their players is still very young and of course they have quite a lot of experience and playing minutes with the big teams in Europe. After Hugo Lloris left, who retired, the French national team was not too burdened because Mike Maignan have quit well perform with AC Milan would be able to fill the goalkeeper position. Left with center forward as the weakness from France because Karim Benzema have announced retired from national team and difficult finding with new center forward after Giroud not the first option with his team AC Milan.

Yeah, but you can't say that there is a large gap between France and all other European teams after France played two games in this year. I admit, winning 4-0 against Netherlands is great, but Netherlands is not the top European nation. We will see how good France will be when they play against England or Spain.

I would guess that even the world cup qualifiers weren't really that much amazing for them neither. In the end France knows what is important and what is not, which game matters and which one doesn't and they play accordingly. I have to say they have won a world cup, and they were the finalists on the last one. They almost got that one too, penalties were the only difference maker.

So all in all I would say that it is not really that much of a big deal to not win something like nations league which is basically a friendly cup at this point, nobody really cares about it. France will be fine and they have a big chance to win it this time around, they do not have a proper Italy against them neither, they have no competition against them.

I can agree with you. At this point, England doesn't have a player of the calibre of David Beckham, Wayne Rooney or Michael Owen. They do have some very good players such as Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling, but they are not as the same level as Beckham and Rooney. Absence of a single star player is one of the negatives, but it also has some advantages. I would say that England team has good co-ordination and bonding compared to many of the other UEFA teams. Also, I haven't noticed any of the players going on selfish mode, i.e not passing around the ball.

According to me, the win against the Netherlands was pretty great with a landslide score of 4-0, as we know the Netherlands is a strong team in Europe, in the early minutes of the match France had already controlled the ball and a good opening goal by Griezmann, making it even more difficult for the Netherlands to catch up, plus upamecano goal and Mbappe streak makes the game look hopeless for the Netherlands, but even if France plays England or Spain I think they will still get the win.

Iceland surprised everyone when they managed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Qualifying itself was a big achievement, and during the tournament they held Argentina to a 1-1 draw (thanks to a goal from Alfreð Finnbogason). And before that in 2016, they managed to reach the Quarter-finals of Euro 2016. But after 2018, their performance went down. They failed to qualify for the Euro 2020 and FIFA 2022. Hopefully they will be able to qualify for Euro this time. It's not that tough, given that they are being placed in a group alongside Portugal, Slovakia and Bosnia.

You failed to mention that France lost to Denmark in the last round of the competition and almost got relegated from the elite class of the competition. Croatia saved France from relegation with their victory against Austria in the last round 
According to you, all those bad results of France are the result of bad luck and not the bad games of the French in that competition, which I would not agree with. In all 6 matches of this competition, France was bad, and there is no question of any bad luck.

France is just something different, they are not playing at the same level as everyone else. I mean this team will be winning the cup unless something major happens and that's an important thing to remember. I personally hope that the best thing we could do at this moment is to make sure that it is going as smooth as it gets.

It is not going to be easy to do that but it should be something much better than last time they played it. They showed themselves in the world cup just recently as well, even though they lost, they beat everyone easily until the finals and finals was just a mere seconds away before they missed the last shot, and then penalties. I think Netherlands is nowhere near that level and was an expected upset.
