But today's defeat was so embarrassing that this is not just a setback for the Dutch but also for the associate nations as a whole. Actually, they increased the expectations by beating South Africa. I believe any team has the capability to beat others in their good day and performance from some specific players can change the game for a team.

Australian batting display was led by David Warner formidable century 104(93) and an extraordinary innings by Glenn Maxwell, who scored 106 the fastest century 40 balls in World Cups, devastating the Netherlands  bowlers. If fans or different stakeholders want an 18-24 team World Cup in the near future then everyone should be ready to witness loop sided contests as well.

It would look bad and at times a waste of resources but in the long run it's good for the overall health of cricket and arguably the only way.

ICC schedules matches in a way that every team plays against rest 1 time, I see nothing wrong with that, so particulars can prove themselves against the competition and deservings move on to the group stage.

Regarding poor performance of Netherlands, they probably succumed to pressure, same happened with Bangladesh in their match against SA. Netherlands ought to have captured the Maxwell's catch, otherwise rest of their fielding was better.

I don't think any match of this World Cup is bowling-friendly. A check of the pitch report suggests that the pitch might help the bowlers a bit. But in the last match played on this pitch we saw 672 runs. Australia managed to collect 367 runs and Pakistan 305 runs. And so I would not say that the pitch is bowling-friendly. Batsmen must play well if they want to win on this pitch.

The performance of Sri Lankan batsmen is better than that of England batsmen in this World Cup. England's batsmen have suddenly lost form in the World Cup. And their performance is very disappointing. England's batsmen must play carefully against the Sri Lankan bowlers. Hope we will see the victory of England in today's match.

Dutch bowling completely broke down during the last few overs. De Leede was bowling full-tosses again and again, and some of them were called as no-balls. The other bowlers were not that better either. Van Beek and Van Meekeren both conceded too many runs towards the end. I have a feeling that they should have rather used the spinners (van der Merwe or Aryan Dutt). And then while batting they couldn't even make a three digit total. It was quite embarrassing to watch the performance from Netherlands, and that too in a major tournament such as the ICC World Cup.

Odd not a factor. In this year's World Cup matches, the team which goes to the toss first, if the team scores 300 plus runs, will definitely win the match. Today, however, David Malan did the smart thing by winning the toss and opting to bat. 90% chance England will win today. But England are batting very aggressively today to chase down the 300 plus target. But if the Sri Lankan bowlers can break the opening pair very quickly, the runs will be under some pressure.

Not from betting odds my prediction is that England will win against Sri Lanka today. England have now won the toss and collected 53 runs for the loss of one wicket in 8.3 overs. Both teams have played four matches in this World Cup, the world champion England has won only one match, while Sri Lanka has won only one match and is at the 8th and 7th position of the points table. However, none of the two teams have hope of surviving in the next round of this World Cup. Because they are at minus(-) points in the points table. So if I predict today's match I will definitely predict for England.

No one will be interested if we had such kind of tournament, that is why the qualifiers are in place and only certain number of teams are selected to play at the big arena. If associate nations wants to be there then they have to make a statement that they can be a capable team by qualifying to this stage.

I feel AFG will be the next big team in cricket based on their performances in very short period of time and also they got good set of batting and bowling talents at young age group so in the next 4 years they will be sure enough for big competitions.

England batters looked under pressure. Luckily for Sri Lanka, Bairstow got out after a massive first-ball chance. Bairstow's trouble with the bat continued in this World Cup. Sri Lanka, at the moment, is in complete control, and Stokes looks frustrated by the length bowling. England needs to build a partnership here and should slowly increase their run rate till 35 overs. Their lower order has some explosive batsmen, and they can easily bat with over 10 run rate in the last 10 overs.
I think the pitch is not behaving as everyone expected and is not as flat as we have seen in the last couple of matches.
