After the first official game of Xabi Alonso in charge of Real Madrid Vs Al Hilal that saw his team play out a 1 - 1 draw, people were already calling out the coach and saying lot's of things against, some even questioned why he was made manager. They forgot so soon that he's just new to the team and was his first game. I know it's yet to earlier but I see Alonso in the right path and taking Real Madrid to a greater height. I see another Zidane in Alonso, infact he will be a better manager than Zidane for the club. He needs to be allowed to do his job.

That was one sided match because players of Red Bull Salzburg team was not looked in excellent form and we saw excellent effort by Real Madrid team . The shots of Red Bull Salzburg team were good and these were 12 and 3 shots were on target. The possession percentage of that team was 44 percent and passes of that team were 513 in this match. The shots of Real Madrid team 12 in this match and 4 shots were on target and possession percentage of Real Madrid team were 56 percent. The fouls of that team were 4 in this match and pass accuracy of that team wax brilliant in this match.The pass accuracy of Red Bull Salzburg team was also brilliant in this match and that was 86 percent.

It's very hard to predict the winner in advance specially in such mega events where competition is at its peak. Chelsea in group stage finished second in group D while Benfica finished at number one in group C. It will be an interesting contest between Portugal and English premier league club.

Real Madrid is still Real Madrid and they are good, but Mbappe is missing so I am not sure how great they are going to be. Man City hasn't been the Man City we know, and they changed many players during the season and adding more for this season as well. Which means we are going to end up seeing Man City have hard time going to finals, but not like many other teams that are great on that side. Maybe Chelsea or Inter, which could happen, but not looking like any would be that great.

The side from Real Madrid has more better teams, PSG, Bayern etc, that is a loaded place and it is harder for Madrid to reach to finals. I agree a City vs Real final would be great, but I am not sure if it would be as great as 2-3 years ago when they faced each other at UCL.

Actually this will not be easy for Chelsea because Benfica in the last few matches have performed impressively especially winning against Bayern Munich, but as a team maybe Chelsea is the most favored and Chelsea has good statistics in H2H.

Well as expected the game was no joke seeing how the both teams locked in for 90mins of play and no one was able to break the deadlock but palmerias as suspected have taken the lead, although it's just the first half of extra time as there is still another  15 mins to play and there is no one assurance if botafogo can't suprise and equalized as the both teams are desperate for the win.

I was watching the Palmeiras x Botafogo match in this quarterfinals, a hard-fought victory for Palmeiras in extra time, but Botafogo pressed hard and had very good shots, but luck favored the Alviverde team.

For those who don't remember, Botafogo is a strong team that beat Paris Saint-Germain in one of these group stage games.

Both teams played a great match, but the impression I had was that Palmeiras, as always, missed great chances and seems like a team that has forgotten how to score goals.

It was a very difficult match to predict, because Palmeiras x Botafogo has been creating a monstrous rivalry since 2023, where each team wins each match, both always very competitive and finalists in their league championships and the Libertadores.

Soon we'll have Benfica and Chelsea, I believe that Benfica is playing great football and has a high competitive chance of advancing to the next stage of the qualifiers.

I have to say that it was a very hard-fought match and beautiful to watch, even for non-fans of these two teams. Palmeiras deserved to go through in my opinion, they played very well and were able to capitalize on the goal opportunity, scored by Paulinho.

Then as for Chelsea, I believe that they will show benfica the much needed respect in this game because it will be a terrible decision on their own part if they looks down on benfica and start playing their reserve team, but if I will be staking on the final outcome of this game, I will be going for a direct winning to Chelsea because by looking at their head2head record, Chelsea always comes out on top, so this one here wouldn't be an exception in my own point of view.

Respect means nothing in football now my friend. Chelsea need to be careful enough, I notice their strikers are not clinical enough to score goals in this competition, compare to Benfica's strikers. Chelsea are not even suppose to find the match difficult, Benfica is not really a team that is suppose to give Chelsea difficult time, but seriously anything can happen in the match, Chelsea is a team that’s unpredictable, they can do anything at any moment, Chelsea do end up surprising us in some matches, they do perform poorly when they are suppose to play well. I don’t think Enzo Maresca will gamble today’s match, he will do everything possible to get a win in the match, Chelsea is having the squad that can achieve that for them. All remaining games are unpredictable and this one is tricky. When we look from what we knows previously about the two teams and when we take on consideration the odds we see for Chelsea @2.1 - 2.2 and Benfica @3.6 - 3.7, then definitely we will select Chelsea as the favourite team.
Now in this competition, Benfica did well especially against Bayern Munich while Chelsea passed through weak teams and they were knocked by 3 goals against the only good team in their group.
I am very undecided in this match, thinking Chelsea is favourite and wishing Benfica to perform good and pass.

You forgot Chelsea has better attackers and defenders than Fluminense, but Fluminense came from behind to beat Chelsea 3-1. The Chelsea and Benfica game is a difficult game, and we can't really predict the outcome, but if I am to choose who will win between Chelsea and Benfica, I will choose Benfica because Benfica performed better than Chelsea in the group stage of the Club World Cup tournament, and Benfica defeated Bayern Munich to finish as Group C leader, so I believe Benfica stands a better chance of beating Chelsea tonight.

Palmeiras in my opinion were deserving winners today against Botafogo. They played the more exciting football while Botafogo just wanted to absorb pressure and look to either score through counter or a mistake from Palmeiras.
This was a match that was meant to be close as they both have good experience against each other.
Congratulations to palmeiras I hope Inter Miami can do the same tomorrow against PSG but it will be extremely difficult.
