Hi guys ..

I also nominate "id10tothe9" to hold the rehab funds/pool if he's willing ..

We also need to hire a competent dev to review and evaluate
the existing state of TIPS  and to manage the community takeover ..

It appears from prior comments that most of us are non technical,
but I assume we can collectively agree on a rehab plan/new focus
for TIPS and handle the marketing tasks/costs ..

Start thinking about how we should position the coin for the future ..
What will be the best bang for the rehab buck so to speak ..
What useful features have you encountered in competing coins that
we could adopt/modify for our purposes here ??

1) Reduce coin count ?
2) Change the mining parameters/algo ?
3) Beef up the anonymity ?
4) Brain wallet ?
5) mobile wallet ?
6) Other features enhancements ?
7) Change the name ?
Cool Change the logo ?
9) Mobile Tipping Apps

What do we already have ??

1) A coin mixing service ( just needs transaction volume ) that provides a level of anonymity ..
2) A large number of coins ( too large ?? )
3) The symbol TIPS
4) w/fedoracoin payments system https://pay.withfedoraco.in/

Everything else should be "on the table" for scrutiny/discussion/modification ..

Triff ..

thanks for your trust! Smiley I would volunteer to manage that fund if you all accept me, and I need some help on how to do that in a secure manner, maybe cold wallet etc? if there is a trustless method like multisig it's also good but I guess we still don't have such a feature right?

I also agree we need to make some fundamental changes, the high minting rate is I think what screwed us up in the first place, I think a reduction of the number of coins is good to get to the btc market and also change the algo to POS instead of POW, this way the community would be rewarded for holding the coin instead of multipools just mining and dumping! About anonymity, I suggest we look into what BTCD is doing (bitcoindark), I think they succeeded in creating real anonymity and are building it and it will be a network (of distributed private servers) which other coins can also use to be anonymous, and I understood that the dev is going to help a few alt coins to implement his code and there will be an interface that other coins can implement. so maybe we can volunteer to be of the first coins to use that feature! I can ask about this if you like the idea.

I like your suggestions Triff, I already put those points of strength we have going for us in the gdrive in the Think Tank section, and I suggest we can make questionnaires for at least some of the questions you put in that list! is that a good way to go about it?
I just need to figure out how to create those voting questions on the thread, somebody can help?

here we have a designer if we need logo design etc: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=684008.msg8413825#msg8413825

even though I'd prefer if Fayens joined us again he also did cool designs. I guess I need to find the older threads and send the invitation to the members I missed in my last message.

Right now, how big the TIPS wallet? I rarely install any coin wallet. Lack of internet connection.

I also agree to have id10tothe9 hold the fund.
The simple way is we need to make TIPS blockchain explorer asap, so all of us can see the ledger and more transparancy.

I now have about 727MB for the entire file, last synched like 1-2 weeks ago.
I guess the explorer site we had is down? does it just lack the money or what is the problem?

+1 if id10tothe9 would agree.

Do we have the github account credentials to make the necessary code changes?

Fedora needs to be part of this:

http://casheer.net/

Everyone please take a look and if you all agree, find out what we need to to...

PS: Also agree for 1d10tothe9 to hold and manage funds.

hey guys awesome to see this positive change of tides Grin
sorry been away for a few days and didn't have the time to follow up but I'm positively surprised that things are now looking much better! with this attitude I'm sure we can do something with our beloved tips Cheesy

RJF, I liked your questions and the idea of first answering the important questions before we move on. So I put them in our gdrive, all of us can add new questions or answer the existing ones here: Questions to be answered
give it a try Smiley

well I hope so, I'm trying to get our community to reorganize and discuss the next steps to be made. But I need people here to respond more than it's the case up to now.
As I posted above, we have about 6 groups of teams waiting to be filled with members interested in taking that position so that we can make decisions and start new projects. If you are interested please say where you want to be!
With tips at this very low market cap (about 60-70k$) we have a lot of room for growth and those of us who take it up and bring it back to life will benefit handsomely (10-100 fold ROI). So I'm really surprised no discussion has really started to the matters I posted recently..

Keep asking! As we move into fall here in the US people will have more time and energy to devote I'm sure. Summer is a lousy time for crypto. I am willing to donate 1m TIPS and may be able to help elsewhere when not so tied up in current projects. I think, for right now, lets start with some fact finding:

What exchanges are we still on?

What exchanges do we want to be on?

What do we want the coin to be?

What area are we best suited for? Actual tipping as in commercial establishments? Behind the scenes support such as charities, special projects, etc?

What kind of talent do we currently have to make changes such as a possible move to POS or multi-algo or other structual changes?

I know, more questions and no answers but, we need these answered first. After that, I think best course is getting the coin back in the publics eye with a new direction and possible function. This will require articles to be written and published.

To start off, as I have said before, lets loose the hat thing and design a new logo. Anybody out there talented in graphic design?

What should the new theme be? Can we get some ideas and post a pole here in the forum?

Come on people! I know there are some really big bagholders out there, it won't take much of a increase to make you're investment worth real money, it can only get better from here. At this point, doesn't matter so much what we do as long as we do SOMETHING!

I challenge you all to answer the questions above and provide alternatives where needed.

As I said, I'm willing to put up 1m TIPS, anybody want to better that offer? I dare ya!  Smiley

Let's do this thing!

Filled out the form, hope I did it right!  Smiley  Oh and after seeing some of the donation pledges, I'll up mine to 10 million!  Lets go!

Agree on all accounts.
Also when we start to send in our donations, I will donate 10 million TIPS towards development or the like and an additional 2 million to id10tothe9 as I've said before. (500,000 to continue his Facebook tipping and 1.5 million for himself).

Right now, how big the TIPS wallet? I rarely install any coin wallet. Lack of internet connection.

I also agree to have id10tothe9 hold the fund.

Here's a user friendly twitter 'tip bot' someone created for CLD
If it's open source we could do the same for TIPS ??

"Tipping with TIPS" makes more sense than "Tipping with CLD"   Grin Roll Eyes Grin

Triff ..

==============
Help us RT

https://twitter.com/xcloudcoin/status/502752582809305088

Dont forget we can now use the tipbot

XCloudCoin Twitter Tipbot @tipcld

Now every user of Twitter can send and receive XCloudCoin without having a wallet installed! Generate a deposit address, send some coins and start sending XCloudCoin to whoever you want, who has a Twitter account.
How to deposit

To deposit and start sending coins, please go to your Twitter dashboard and tweet: @tipcld deposit. In a few seconds the bot will reply to you with a deposit address, to which you can send coins, which will later appear in your tipping balance.

After you're done with sending coins to the deposit address, it may take a few minutes for your coins to appear in your available, confirmed balance. To check your balance, tweet @tipcld balance.

===============

Bears repeating !!

Can somebody tell me how to post a poll on this thread? The "Post a Poll" option when i'm logged in as FedoraCoin is only available on the Announcements (Altcoins) board but not on this thread. (here my failed try https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=755750.new#new  Grin)

I had to fix some private stuff so couldn't post here the last few days, but now I have more time. Today I will finish the proposal and organization of what we have up to now and make a post in the evening or tomorrow the latest Smiley

You can't open a poll within a thread, you can only create one with the 'Post new Poll' button as a new thread.
