Is this coin dead, or what's the status?
I was wondering the same thing myself. There had been 'talk' of all sorts of development in the pipeline, including possible transition to POS. 'Dev' said he had a team of developers already working on stuff. But nothing has been heard for weeks/months. Just what is going on?? Me too last update only now is a month old (see last page post by kebwesi), give the team some time and be a bit more patient though an update as to the current status would be appreciated. but let's also not forget that TiPS is really community based, and the more any member contribute the more it will grow. I hope something happens soon. As im ready for another price increase. Without regular updates from the dev the price will not increase. Yeah im aware of that. That is one of the things I hoped would happen soon. They talked about having a TIPS 2.0 on reddit and then nothing came of it.

What started out as a joke was taken too far... TIPS was developed by someone in 4chan for fun, it was met with success during the altcoin/DOGE hype. But in my opinion it was probably destined to end up on what it is now, abandoned with little to no use.

That is one of the things I hoped would happen soon. They talked about having a TIPS 2.0 on reddit and then nothing came of it. IMHO, the problem with this coin is that we currently do not have any "official" developer team for it. And from time to time, there would be an "unofficial" developer came to the this thread talking and promising TIPS 2.0 but unfortunately, up to this point, nothing has been realized. So, I am not really sure whether these "unofficial" developer are really serious or not. To be fair to everyone, this development task is a volunteer, non-paying job, so it is not compelled for them to deliver anything. But at least, they should inform and update the community whether they are still continuing with the project or had already abandoned it. So, the community will not be left in dark waiting and hoping for good or probably bad news.

A new dev is certain to take over given enough time. Everything else works.

Hope and I are extending an offer to the TiPS community. BitHub would be perfect for Fedora and vice verca.
I plan on having bitcoin, feathercoin and ufocoin in at the start.
Fedora could simply serve as a tipping coin on the platform as opposed to having it's BC been used for magnet link embedding if the community feels it's a concern.
Is this still possible?

Is this still possible? I can shoot him a message on the Feathercoin Slack and let him know there's still interest. He's got ideas, some ability, possibly someone waiting in the wings with scary good ability that can pull together their shared vision and it would beat generating yet another altcoin. The thing is, and this is super-pessimistic-very-negative-extremely-biased-inside-baseball talk coming out of me, so take it with a grain of salt, but even at such a dismal market price Fedoracoin is dormant and that's still an improvement over coins like Feathercoin which, depending on your view, has at least one malicious dev. Yes, I'm going to go ahead and say that no developers is better than having a malicious one. There's opportunity to be had there, but at the same time, I'm just going to shake my head over and over and say "no no no no no no no no" for anyone that wants to dump money into it without any utility or value, building services for it, something, anything. Because if that's the case, I'm just going to say it, completely honest, you're going to lose your money over and over and over again. Sure on a spike you might get lucky and dump some at 33% over cost to some poor soul that has their trading bot set wrong, but you might as well just take your money to a craps table. You'd be better off. The Romantic Age is over. Before is just work. I rambled, my apologies, but basically what it comes down to is that they're not going to want to be work and effort into something if the community welcomes the next snake oil salesman into the fold that wants to pump it and then walk away with a huge chunk of the community's money, dumped on exchanges for BTC, someone else left holding the bag and fucks over the work put into it. Like what just happened to Feathercoin, as we watch it plummet from the lower side of lower-midrange heights, when at one time it had the value that a Litecoin has now. How can they be reassured that that won't happen so that they'll give 100%? I honestly haven't a clue. Absolutely no clue. I don't know what what controls would have to be put in place as sort of bracers in order to keep the coin and the community aligned before it can rocket away freely without micromanaging as it should be. Until then, it's going to be hard to recruit talent. Especially with wishes and dreams and no capital. Capital that I wouldn't anyone to sink money into unless they can prove to everyone and themselves that they know what they're doing. It's a catch-22.

Nice post I dont think we can do anything about the market dumping. Surely there will be people dumping even at a small price increase. Let them do and in that way the distribution gets better. [ optimistic view ] All we need is a dev/market team who can keep ploughing at it. For any devs who is interested, the current market price itself is very attractive to buy in some billions of coins and then start working on it. If we can get a team behind it, the only way we could go is up. Remember TIPS is one of the few crypto coins, which never had any scam accusations from the start and has a great branding name. I can see a future where every tipping is done with TIPS. May be we should start with a tip forum, where people can tip other people for their posts by clicking a button.
