Any news?

We have perform a second DriveShare load test, this time with 502 Farmers, all seem to work well.
A few more tests and some tuning and we should be on our way to the beta launch for Test group A.
Not long to go!

502 Farmers means 502 people or 502 computers/HDs?

It means 502 SJCX addresses farming, for load testing we are simulating the load as we don't have 500 people to test with yet.
The test is equivalent as having 500 different HDs/people as each address farms separately.

Anyone else had problems transferring coins to Poloniex the last few days? I tried to move 9640 SJCX from Counterwallet to Poloniex on Thursday 11th Dec 14, nothing happened for a few hours so I created a ticket with them at 4pm GMT that day - over four days later (Monday 15th Dec) I've got hardly any response other than 'we have a technical difficulty with SJCX'. No real apology or urgency or timeline on a 'fix'. Or maybe the whole thing is a 'fix'??

Do you trust sending your coins there? Are you having issues? I wanted to sell out at 1.5 BTC while the going was good, now it's under 1 BTC and still no sign of my coins arriving in my Poloniex account. Just stuck in Escrow with no revert or send back options and I've lost half a BTC while I sit waiting in disbelief.

I haven't seen any issues myself, however poloniex has you deposit to one address that is yours, they then move it to their active trading wallet.  Do you have transaction ID's for the transfer?

Yes, I can see they're in Escrow using Blockchain.info and the wallet ID I sent from. In Poloniex all it says under Deposit History is: PENDING (0 of 2 confirmations) next to SJCX, the date and time I sent them (well, about 1 hour ish after) and the right quantity/amount I sent but in my balance it's zero and they just say 'technical difficulty' and they'll let me know as soon as it's resolved but no more details or estimated time. SJCX is down nearly 40%, looks like I've missed my opportunity because of this and they just don't care Cry

Down 40% eh. I wonder why that should be? No problems with Storj. Maybe it's because of people dumping for a profit again and again and again. Of course, these people contribute so much to the development of the project. Sorry you missed your chance.

Buying and selling is what trading is all about, if no one did that, well... you know what would happen - nothing! I bought 1BTC of SJCX in their crowdsale, I think they're onto a great concept and looking forward to it's launch when I will still hold 3/4 of my SJCX. Yep, I want to sell out 1/4 (9600) for some BTC, which I also believe in. But yes, trading is about trading, not hoarding, isn't it?

The price is correcting, that is normal, 2 weeks ago it was 4k sat, 2 days ago it was 18k sat, even today 10k sat very normal, it is still a huge gain(compared to stock market), you can't imagine a stock rises 5X in 2 weeks, and that won't happen in the real life.

IMO, 10k sat now is very healthy, I sold at 4800 sat Cry

Can't see any reason why StorJ should be below the top 10 coins..

Dear Storj supporters,

We are announcing the start of Test Group A. We want to be sure you understand the requirements to participate and what outcomes we expect from Test Group A.

Requirements
  • A crowdsale SJCX address where you control the private key, to be able to sign a message for ownership verification. We recommend using Counterwallet. Addresses from exchanges and sources you don’t control will not be valid.
  • A balance of 10,000 SJCX in your crowdsale address. Your original crowdsale address can be topped up to and over 10,000 SJCX to be eligible.

What outcomes do we expect from Test Group A
  • To get load testing experience and statistics on our verification nodes.
  • To get uptime statistics for farmers, which is useful data for our distribution algorithms.

Who is Test Group A for
This is our first software beta and there may be technical problems and issues. Ideally we would prefer power-users, willing to deal with the problems and give us feedback. Users not willing to go through technical issues, troubleshooting, and actively provide feedback, should participate in later test groups.
  • There will be no SJCX rewards for participants.
  • We will not be loading users' hard drives with data yet, only 100-byte test files.

Ready to Get Started?
  • Proper instructions and support will be provided at the Hangout and IRC at release time.
  • Visit the Dedicated Thread for Support and Feedback on StorjTalk.

Not Eligible?

When is the launch?
The launch will be on Saturday December 20 at 8 PM (EST). We will host a live hangout and an IRC chat. In that event we will provide instructions and support, as well as answer questions. If there are any updates or delays we will keep you informed via social media or email.

Have a great day,
The Storj Team
